Chapter 859 Don’t Blame Me

What Zed really wanted was for Jean to go back to H City, avoiding her involvement in his family affairs.

He knew that this new enemy of his would not go easy on Jean, especially since Zed had fallen under his radar.

Carefully, Zed stroked Jean's hair, lightly tucking it behind her ear. 'I know she's not safe wherever I send her off, ' Zed thought to himself.

'I have to send her away before things get out of hand.

The problem now is how to get Jean to agree with my plans.

But Kirk...

Why did he have to ask Jean to help out with Elizabeth?

Jean even can't speak English fluently. It would be hard for them to talk to each other.

Is it really that necessary? Kirk already had everything planned out. And everything else should be left up for his fiancee to decide.

Why on earth would he ask a pregnant woman to accompany them?

I really couldn't believe it when he asked that favor from Jean. It truly was a bit improper.

There's nothing that can be done now, anyway. Jean had already agreed. It would be wrong to turn him down at this point.

Although, I can't say I know what to make of his request from Jean... Maybe it's just because the wedding is so near and he just doesn't have much time.

Of course he would want everything to go as perfect as possible, ' Zed concluded.

Despite this, Zed still hoped that nothing bad would happen during the wedding and that everything would go well.

Soon enough, Zed also fell into a deep slumber. The next morning, Jean woke up to an empty bed. Zed had already been out before she had awoken.

Giving a big stretch, Jean let out a lazy yawn before sitting up in bed. Ever since her pregnancy, she had been sleeping longer hours.

As the days went by, it was normal for her to wake up without Zed by her side. Jean gradually became used to it.

Flinging her legs over the edge of the bed, she put on her slippers and strode to the bathroom, letting out another big yawn.

A couple of minutes later, Jean came out of the bathroom neatly dressed and refreshed. Soon enough, she made her way to the living room.

There, the first thing she saw was Sean reading the newspaper. No one else was there besides the two of them.

Hearing the approaching footsteps, Sean lowered the paper and raised his eyes. "Ah. Good morning, Jean," he greeted.

Jean couldn't help but look surprised. She never expected that Sean would greet her so cheerfully. From what she remembered, Sean wasn't really someone who ini

“Do you still want to run away after what happened last night?”

Their relationship changes overnight. She tries to keep her distance from him, while he comes closer and closer.

Spoiling her, he gives her everything she desires. His only wish is to keep her around. The whole world is envious of what she has.

“Never rush in a relationship,” she says calmly.

ised Jean. There was nothing she could do but sigh in her heart.

It was a fact that Jean didn't know Sean that much yet.

It was not just because she didn't spend a lot of time with Sean; he wasn't really much of a talker in the first place.

The only thing she knew about him was that he was a good husband to Jade, and accompanied her in her travels around the world.

Now, Jean realized that Sean was a 'considerate' son, too.

Even though he knew it was not safe for Zed, he still wanted Zed to stay for Grandpa Benjamin's sake.

"Don't blame me, Jean," Sean continued, "Your grandfather is old now and has aged so much. And it's difficult for me to take over the company after retiring so many years ago. Your uncle, Simon, he has..."

Sean couldn't continue his sentence. A sad look crept up over his face. He felt really frustrated.

Jean understood Sean had no other choice. She also felt sad in her heart.

Sean didn't know what to do now. If he had any other choice, he would not let Zed stay. Sean thought in his heart, 'I had to leave Sky International years ago.

Even though I want to take over the company now, I have no idea how to lead the company out of trouble.

Sky International is in trouble now. And it is beyond my control.

Now, I can only place all of my hope on Zed. Zed is my son. If he could take over the company, I'm pretty sure he could manage to wiggle out of this situation.'

"I understand, father," Jean said, smiling at Sean with a nod. "We're family. We should go through hard times together."

On hearing what Jean had said, Sean abruptly raised his head, looking at Jean with tears in his eyes.
