"Zed, just because your grandpa loves you doesn't mean you can act on your own will inside the Qi family. I warn you, if you're doing something that will hurt Kirk, I'll make sure you pay for it!"
threatened Sara.
"Aunt Sara, I don't think you understand the situation. Frankly speaking, it's obvious who won't let go of who. Don't you think so?" replied Zed sarcastically.
With a frown, she looked at Elizabeth. She paused for a moment, taking in the scene. "Let him go, Elizabeth," Sara then ordered.
"No," Elizabeth spat, shaking her head as she held onto Zed's clothes tighter.
Upon hearing this, Sara stared at Elizabeth ferociously. "Shame on you!" she shouted. "A woman clinging on to him, begging for his love? Not only that. You're soon to be married to my son! How shameless!"
Hearing this made Zed feel relieved. Finally Sara was on his side.
Although Sara had a lot of wrongdoings in the past, she was a good mother to Kirk.
That was her only saving grace.
It was inevitable for her to get worked up about this.
"I only came here for Zed. I have no other reason to even be here," Elizabeth said without an ounce of humiliation. "I don't care about anyone else."
"You..." stammered Sara, trembling with anger.
"What did Kirk even see in such a disappointing woman as you? If you keep up this behavior, I will not hold back hammering you into a woman with some dignity..."
Upon noticing that Elizabeth was frozen with shock, Zed took the opportunity to shake her hand off and walk inside his bedroom, closing the door behind him. He closed his eyes and let out a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, Sara was still babbling. Zed felt more relaxed as he heard her voice muffled through the door.
After what happened tonight, he was sure that Elizabeth would no longer pull a stunt like that.
Because of Sara, he was now protected from any form of harassment from Elizabeth.
However, Zed had no intention to tell Jean what had happened just now.
If Jean found out what Elizabeth said and did to him, she would just get even more upset.
Looking over at the bed, he saw Jean fast asleep. The sight of her made Zed's mood much lighter. He too
“Do you still want to run away after what happened last night?”
Their relationship changes overnight. She tries to keep her distance from him, while he comes closer and closer.
Spoiling her, he gives her everything she desires. His only wish is to keep her around. The whole world is envious of what she has.
“Never rush in a relationship,” she says calmly.
l you? If I was exchanged with a plot of land by Zed, do you think it's possible for me to stay beside Zed for so long, let alone carry his child?
I think you witnessed how worried and anxious Zed was when I was kidnapped. To be honest, our relationship can't be maligned by any rumor. I suggest that you don't take to heart whatever rumors you may hear in the future."
"Of course I know you two care about each other. So when I heard this, I was surprised. That's why I'm asking you today. If I believed in the rumor, I wouldn't have talked to you about it now, would I?"
explained Sara. Jean was surprisingly calm, and was eloquent with her words.
"I thought you believed in it. I apologize," said Jean with a spurious smile.
"No, of course not," Sara answered, but then she sighed and continued, "Jean, you're so young. I can't imagine that you understand everything that's going on. You've no idea what negative influences that bad reputation will have on you. So I think you'd better ask Zed to clarify at a proper time, otherwise people will continue attacking you."
"Thanks for your suggestion, Aunt Sara. Actually I don't think it will affect me. You know that I seldom go out, so I barely hear these rumors," Jean replied.
"You're pregnant, so you seldom hear them. But what after your pregnancy? When your baby is born, he will go to school and work. Do you want him to be discriminated? I don't think so," Sara said gravely.
