"Zed, you're worried about Jean, aren't you? You can come with us, if you like. You're free anyway. I heard that you two don't even have wedding photos. Maybe you can take your own set today too,"
Kirk suggested to Zed.
Zed was excited to hear that so he turned to Jean.
However, Jean shook her head. Then she turned to Kirk and said with a bitter smile, "Kirk, we can take it any other time just not now."
"Why? But we're all free today anyway?" Zed asked, with a sense of sadness in his tone.
"Zed, taking wedding photos is not as simple as you think. It can't be done within a day and besides, I don't want to do it now,"
Jean replied and sighed as she glanced at her belly.
Suddenly, Zed understood what Jean was worried about. So he just smiled sweetly at her, "Well, a lot of women like taking their wedding photos while pregnant."
"Oh, no, no, no. I don't want to follow that trend at all," Jean refused.
She didn't want anyone to see her belly.
But the main reason was that she didn't want Zed to go with them.
Jean knew that Elizabeth really wanted Zed to go with them. So she wasn't going to let her get what she wanted.
She didn't need to give Elizabeth more reasons to gloat.
Zed knew that there was no way getting through Jean so he looked at Kirk and said with a bitter smile, "Kirk, as much as I want to go with you, I can't because Jean doesn't want to."
"Jean..." Kirk turned to Jean."I know that you're happy with Zed and you're both excited for your baby, but I'd still love for Zed to be my best man and you to be my bridesmaid."
"Oh, come on, Kirk. Please just give us a break!" Jean joked with a smile then she added, "Anyone but Zed can be your best man. You know he's not that type."
'If Zed was anyone's best man, there probably wouldn't be a wedding—he's just that good-looking, ' Jean thought to herself.
Elizabeth was the best example of this. She was attracted to Zed.
Jean wasn't sure if Elizabeth could control herself once she saw Zed in a suit.
'If she suddenly confessed her love for Zed at the wedding, that would be embarrassing for the Qi family.
Anyone with common sense wouldn't want Zed to be their best man.
He's tall and handsome. Isn't Kirk afraid that Zed might steal his thunder?'
"Do you know what you did wrong? It's alright if you just wanted to own me. But you should not have helped Molly leave me!"
When Brian learns the truth, there is no chance for Hannah to win his heart.
Molly, who wants to run away from Brian, seems to be the only one to blame for Hannah's misfortune...
she has a bodyguard with her. The rest of the family knows and supports this."
This only angered Elizabeth further.
She already knew that Jean was kidnapped the other day at the night market even when Zed was with her.
She thought it was good news when she first heard about it. She didn't expect that it would only increase Zed's overprotectiveness on Jean.
It seemed that Kirk wasn't an option anymore if she was trying to get rid of Toby.
Elizabeth stared Jean down. When Kirk opened her door to the car, she stepped inside without saying another word.
"Jean..." Kirk opened the other door for Jean. Jean was looking at him, smiling and unmoving.
"Kirk, I don't want to be the third wheel. But Toby's driving too, I can ride with him. You lead the way and we'll follow," Jean said lightheartedly.
"I don't think that's a good idea," Kirk said.
"She can do whatever she wants. Kirk, let's go!" Elizabeth stuck her head out of the car and chimed in.
Kirk was a bit surprised as he thought he had sensed some tension between Elizabeth and Jean—almost as if Elizabeth was angry at Jean. He turned towards Jean and said in an apologetic tone, "Well then, be careful, okay? And you, protect Jean at all costs,"
Kirk said to Toby.
"Yes!" Toby replied to Kirk politely.
Kirk glanced at Jean—a worried look on his face—before he got into his car.
"Mrs. Jean, please!" Toby said to Jean.
Jean nodded as she sat in the back seat. "Toby...." she said just as Toby had started the car.
