"Mr. Zed has a message for you, Mrs. Jean. He doesn't want you to take Elizabeth seriously, no matter what she does. Don't spend too much energy on irrelevant people like her,"
Toby said, trying to comfort Jean.
"Ah...Zed didn't tell me that relaying messages would be part of your job," Jean teased, smiling. She felt relieved and decided she would let it go for now.
Toby's face reddened at Jean's teasing. He remained silent as he trailed behind her.
Jean saw Elizabeth, who was looking at Kirk, beaming as she arrived at the second floor of the wedding store. Elizabeth was trying a wedding dress on.
The wedding dress she put on particularly added to her allure. She looked like one of those Barbie dolls in fairy tales.
If Jean didn't know Elizabeth was trying to ruin her marriage, she would've wanted to befriend this beautiful lady.
Jean saw Kirk was looking at Elizabeth dotingly, smiling sweetly, as if no one else in the world mattered.
Jean thought to herself, 'If only Elizabeth appreciated Kirk and loved him back, they could have a great life together.
I just hope Elizabeth figures this all out before Kirk gets tired of her and leaves her.
But Elizabeth obviously doesn't care about this. All she cares about is trying to get Zed for herself.
On the bright side, Elizabeth wouldn't dare let the family know of her true motives. If they find out, she would get asked to leave for sure and she wouldn't want that because then she wouldn't see Zed anymore. I have to deal with this until then.'
Jean sighed slightly before she sat down on a couch and picked up a magazine.
Jean noticed that Toby was still standing next to her. "Please have a seat, Toby." she gestured to the couch then she added, "Relax. You look so serious that people might get suspicious of us. We don't want any trouble."
Toby looked at Jean with a quizzical look on his face.
"If someone's planning to do anything to me, they'll easily figure out that you're my bodyguard because you're acting exactly like a bodyguard would. They'll try to get to you first before getting to me. If they get to you then who else will protect me? So just try to keep a low profile for now. Don't let people know who you are," Jean said softly.
'Jean was right, ' Toby thought to himself so he walked towards the chair, sat down, and tried to keep a low profile.
Jean was able to relax now. She opened the magazine in her hand and subtly looked at Kirk an
Drugged one night by her ex-boyfriend, a mysterious man took advantage of her in an ecstatic night filled with sex. To take her revenge, she married the man, and used him. "As long as I'm alive, I'm still his legal wife, while all of you are just his mistresses.”She remained adamant even when he was involved in scandals with other women...
ed with a smirk on her face.
Elizabeth's face shifted. After a pause, she put on a big smile and said, "I don't care what you call it. Crush, stalker, love, whatever. I don't care. All I know is that's what I feel. He'll forever be in my heart and that's the truth. He'll forever be the best thing that's happened to me."
Jean was astounded as she stared at Elizabeth, speechless.
The last thing Jean expected from such a beautiful woman like Elizabeth was the behavior she was displaying now. How could she be like this?
Even Toby who could only hear their conversation in snippets was feeling uncomfortable.
Elizabeth, meanwhile, was confident in what she was doing. To her, she was just trying to pursue what she wanted the most.
She had to let Jean know her plan—to her, this was her life mission. She was never going to give up.
Jean couldn't help but sigh in her heart. She didn't want to talk to Elizabeth. Luckily enough, she spotted Kirk and waved him over. "Have you chosen your suit, Kirk?"
"Yes." Kirk nodded. He turned to Elizabeth and said, "Dear, this wedding dress is perfect for you. We have to find more dresses for the wedding photos."
Elizabeth nodded and they headed for the dressing room.
Jean looked resigned—she let out a sigh.
Jean had thought they could go home now since Kirk had chosen his suit already.
She hadn't expected that they had a lot of other errands left to run.
Jean thought, 'They've only finished choosing what they're going to wear at the ceremony.
Then they're going to choose their outfits for the wedding photos but I'm sure that's just the top of the list...'
