Julie secretly wiped the sweat from her brow. Hearing those words from Zed was a shock to her.
She should have just waited at the door. It was foolish of her to rush in so hastily when the drug had still not taken effect.
She clenched her fists, then took a deep breath to relax. Finally, she turned to him and said, "All right. May I sit down then?"
She pointed to the sofa, thinking she might as well play safe this time. Now that Zed had taken the tea with the drug, it would start taking effect sooner or later. She was going to sit there and pretend to talk to him as she waited for the moment to come.
"Sit down, please." Zed came out from behind the desk to sit on the sofa, and poured a glass of water for her.
Julie sat beside him and bit her lips before saying, "I came to offer an explanation about the photos."
"Don't bother, there is nothing to explain. The truth is way too clear," Zed replied coldly. "I hope you won't take the liberty of coming to the hotel again hereafter. I don't want anymore unnecessary misunderstandings."
"It was a mistake. I was drunk when I did it. Will you forgive me?" Julie looked at him, her eyes filling up with fake tears.
"Let's put an end to the discussion regarding the pictures. I want you to stop sending misconstrued messages to my wife, and I'm reiterating my position once again—I'm not interested in you. Not now, not ever."
Like a dagger, Zed's words ruthlessly stabbed Julie's heart.
"Zed, do you have to do this to me?" Tears streamed down her cheeks.
Zed pulled out a few tissues and handed them to her without any emotions.
Julie immediately grabbed his hand and looked at him with an aggrieved expression. "It was a mistake, Zed. I really didn't think that it would create such an issue. I will respect your wishes and stay away from you he

full of vegetables.
Zed quickened his pace and took the basket from her. "Are you feeling better now? Is everything okay?"
"Much better. Why did you come here so early today? There's no need to do this for me. Are you done with your work at the hotel?" Jean asked, pretending to be calm as she walked beside him.
Zed put his arm around her waist and replied, "I hired an assistant to help me, so I won't be as busy as before. That's why I came early today. And I want to..." He put his lips to her ear and whispered, "I want to see you every day. I've made up my mind; if you're going to stay here, I'll come and live here with you."
"Live here with me?" asked Jean, looking surprised. "My room is too small for the both of us. It'll be inconvenient for you there."
"I don't care. The most important thing is that you are here with me." With that, Zed bent down and kissed her on the cheek.
Jean saw James standing in the doorway, and awkwardly pushed Zed away. "Don't. People are watching."
"Who?" Zed looked up, only to see James walk back into the gym.
"Nothing. I'm going to prepare dinner." Jean pushed him aside and trotted back into the gym.
"Let me help you," he said, following her in.
