A lot of things happened that morning. James wasn't in the best mood since he'd separated with Julie. He wanted to talk to Jean but she wasn't at the gym last night.
James felt down because he'd been feeling neglected by Jean.
Although it might seem strange, he couldn't deny what he felt.
He let out a deep sigh. When he turned around, Jean was there, staring at him.
Jean normally held herself up better than James did, which gave him the illusion that Jean didn't care about what happened last night.
"Jean, you're here! Where have you been last night?"
James noticed that the male jacket draped over Jean's shoulder. He also noticed the marks on Jean's neck.
Even without Jean saying anything, he already knew what was going on. He asked, "Were you with Zed last night?"
James felt sour. Even though he knew from the beginning how Jean felt about Zed, and he tried to keep his feelings in check, he still ended up falling for her. He thought Jean was going to get back together with Zed and leave him all alone here again. He couldn't help but feel upset.
Jean could read James' mind. She blushed when James asked her that question. She shook her head and replied, "I'm not leaving."
"Why? You've already gotten back together with him. Why aren't you leaving?"
James couldn't understand it.
"Why are you saying that? I never said that!"
Jean looked at James reluctantly. For some reason, James could feel Jean's resentment towards Zed.
"Then, who left the marks on you?"
James asked as he pointed to Jean's neck. Jean looked confused. Pressing on, James said, "Is that from someone else?"
Jean figured that James must have misunderstood her. She thought it was both funny and irritating. She said, "James, what kind of person do you think I am? Do you really think I would hook up with a rando
“Do you still want to run away after what happened last night?”
Their relationship changes overnight. She tries to keep her distance from him, while he comes closer and closer.
Spoiling her, he gives her everything she desires. His only wish is to keep her around. The whole world is envious of what she has.
“Never rush in a relationship,” she says calmly.
around."
"Okay, I believe you. Let's talk about her later. Now, tell me more!"
If it was anything related to Zed, Jean would have a difficult time being calm and rational.
"Can't you see? Zed didn't seem okay last night. The way he looked at Julie—his eyes were blank. When you barged into his office, he looked at you with desire in his eyes. He only had feelings for you and he didn't want Julie."
Jean never noticed that. As she thought it over, she felt bad at how she had treated Zed earlier. She mumbled, "I'm so sorry that I didn't realize it sooner."
James continued to explain, "When Julie woke up this morning, she was sure that it was Zed she had spent the night with. So, that means that she knew it was Zed who had been drugged, which could explain what you saw last night."
"Okay, let's say you're right. How come Zed wasn't as drugged as Julie? How can you explain that?" Jean posed.
James had thought about this already. He had a very good understanding of the Eastern culture. He told Jean his theory.
"Jean, last night, I don't know if you noticed the tea cup on the table in front of Zed."
"Yes, there was a tea cup. I remember that. But what does that have to do with anything?"
