Ivy arrived at the restaurant. Seeing no sign outside yet and as she walked in Pierce engulfed her in a hug. There must be a slot still to do before they would be able to open. This was the first way she was able to give back to Pierce they had known each other from school and he always had her back. He was the family she needed when she had no one. His dream was opening a restaurant so why not do it together.
"How's it look?." Pierce smiled and scratched his neck.
Ivy looked around it was open plan, bright and peaceful yet romantic too. It was perfect.
"Amazing, so when do you open?."
"Slight snag, I had enough for renovations and furniture plus staff but....".
"I will send you some money now. I have to invest if we want to open sooner." Ivy clicked a few buttons and sent the money she had earned recently to Pierce's bank account.
"Thanks."
"Family remember no thanks required." Ivy rubbed the top of Pierce's head.
Just then Thomas ran into the restaurant, he looked anxious and unkempt.
"You..you left me behind." Thomas was out of breath he had to park far and had run to the restaurant.
"The car was too slow." Ivy shrugged indifferently, she did feel bad Thomas had worried about her.
"You went too fast." Thomas shook his head at her and folded his arms.
Ivy rolled her eyes and sighed maybe she was bit means for taking off as she did. But she had her freedom for two years now. It was hard being made to give it up. She once had to do everything her dad said and now she was reported on to her lover. She looked at Pierce and introduced him to Thomas.
Ivy and Pierce chatted for a while about there plan when Jamie came in and sat next to them. He had a bag with him and he opened it up. He took out three beers, one for each of them.
"To your new restaurant." Jamie lifted his beer as a toast.
Ivy smiled at her silly friend and toasted with them opening her beer and taking a sip. They all were chatting when Jamie started staring at Ivy.
"What?... Am I pretty today."
"My sister is always pretty but there's something I found out and want you to clarify."
Jamie said nothing else but pushed his phone towards Ivy. Ivy gasped, it was a photo of Noah and her. He princess carried her and was kissing her. She didn't know what to say.
"So it's true." Jamie leaned back taking in her silence.
"Ivy wasn't he the scum you left your apartment because of?." Pierce asked concerned.
"How can you be in a relationship with someone this dangerous." Jamie folded his arms, he was in total protection mode.
Both Ivy's friends where worried and they had every right to be. They all looked after each other and had hated Cole after what he did. They didn't want anything else to happen to Ivy. Especially someone with wealth and power as they again wouldn't be of much help.
"Although he's not a playboy he's very dangerous," Jamie confirmed.
"I know, I know. It's not...I mean we aren't that serious. How did you get this picture?." Ivy asked to distract Jamie from his question.
"You remember I told you that Noah Adler was rumoured to have a girlfriend he cares about. Everyone is looking into it. You will be used if others think they can harm him though you.... just be careful Ivy." Jamie said with love and concern for his lifelong friend.
Ivy said goodbye to her friends and went out with Thomas. Thomas had already arranged Ivy's bike to be picked up and brought to Noah's underground car park so she went in the car with Thomas. She had a lot to think about so she sat in the back and was silent for the whole journey.
Her two friends sat and watched as Ivy left. Sighing they looked at each other, they clearly both felt the same way. Shaking his head Pierce spoke first.
"What do we do?."
"I don't know, he's a dangerous man and has a lot of people after him. We have seen her with uses and then she got a concussion she said she got it by mistake at Noah's company."
"I don't think it's Noah but maybe she got caught in the crossfire". Pierce said as he rubbed his temples.
"She's our sister we have to see what his intentions are. Now we know hers." Jamie said determined to protect her this time.
"She seems happy." On that Pierce and Jamie, both agreed on.
Jamie and Pierce both felt that in the time that she left Jamie's apartment and now, Ivy was a lot happier. Ivy had started working again, she reminded them of the Ivy before Cole's betrayal. In one way Noah was good for Ivy in another he wasn't.
"Time to go to Noah Adler," Jamie said with conviction.
Jamie and Pierce both headed for Noah's company. They got out of a taxi as they arrived at Noah Adler's company, looking up at the seamlessly endlessly tall building it looked intimidating never mind the CEO. They went past the security and to the front desk. Seeing the girl naughty attitude Jamie and Pierce subconsciously fixed there casual clothing.
"We are here to see Noah," Jamie said in a firm voice. Although he was dressed casually he was a world-renowned reporter and he had a mission to complete.
"Noah... as if you can say CEO Adler's name so casually." The girl snickered loudly.
"I can ng my best friend and I need to see him. If you refuse us you will be in trouble too Pierce and Jamie we want to talk about Ivy."
Jamie said it with a lot of determination so the receptionist's attitude wavered. She looked at them both then sighed ringing up to Secretary Aiden.
"Secretary I'm sorry to disturb you but there are two men here a Jamie and Pierce to talk about a girl called Ivy...Yes, no problem. Thank you."
The girl hung up and gave them a visitors pass.
"Please go to the CEO'S floor with this pass."
The girl then smiled at them. She had heard last time a girl was here the CEO locked down the building because she was missing so she must be important to the CEO. She made a mental note to remember the name Ivy.
Jamie and Pierce got into the lift and saw a swipe they used it and the lift brought them straight up to Noah's floor.
