Chapter 46 - Calm Before The Storm

Thomas worriedly checked the time every couple of minutes, it was rush hour and getting back would normally take forty minutes at this time of day. He wouldn't know what to do if Noah didn't show up in time. Just then Noah walked out of the lift his stride imposing as usual. He stood in front of Thomas.

"Report."​​

Thomas gulped and reported to Noah about today and showed him the small black listening device.

"Both of you go to your apartments, I will send for you if needed".

Thomas and Aiden left. Thomas looked back from the lift as he watched Noah going into his apartment, he remembered the days before Ivy he didn't want to go back to them. Noah was still ruthless now but with Ivy around he would be calm after one word from her. He sighed as the lift door closed and he left for his apartment.

Noah walked into his apartment there was no smell of cooking, no candle lit and no warmth. He took off his jacket and hung it up then took off his shoes. Noah saw his lover sitting on the sofa fully dressed and not in her home clothes, her face dark and unhappy. He new this was going to be a long conversation.

"Ivy.." Noah took a step towards his lover.

"You threatened my friends, the two of them are my family. They not just anybody." Ivy folded her arms and glared at Noah.

Noah went to his bar and filled himself a glass of whiskey. Noah had had many difficult conversations and negotiations as he is a business man but he had never had a fight with his lover. He didn't know how to start.

"I know that and that's why they are alive and well... Ivy do you know what happens when people come into my territory and threaten me or what's mine." Noah decided to lay out all his cards first. He took a glance at Ivy she seemed to even more annoyed at him.

"So am I to be grateful." Ivy scoffed at Noah's rationale.

"They are fine aren't they." Noah seethed, if it wasn't Ivy's friends they would be in one of his warehouses being tortured or killed due to the disrespect they showed him.

"So I am something you own, you demand respect but give me none back. I am my own woman I am not anybody's to own I can leave Tomorrow and we can go about our lives like this all never happened." Ivy stood up then and challenged Noah back. She wouldn't back down when it came to Pierce and Jamie.

Noah put his drink down he was losing his temper as he could feel her animosity and she was threatening to leave him. He grabbed her and held her against the wall. Lifting her chin up and looking into her beautiful green eyes as he spoke.

"You are mine, I own your body, heart and soul remember that Ivy." Noah looked at Ivy neither backing down.

"I am not a thing to own." Ivy tried to push Noah away.

"No but you are mine." Noah said every word slowly declaring his ownership, he didn't know what to say but he new he couldn't live again without her his world was dark and cold without her.

"So you can threaten my friends, lock me up here, I make your food and warm your bed and that's it. I'm supposed to be grateful that the big CEO has shown me interest. I'm not that kind of girl."

"You don't understand. So you think if I wanted a bed warmer I would have Thomas guard you, give you nice things, embrace you when your upset and spend time with you. a bed warmer wouldn't even be worth any of that."

"No I don't and I don't want to anymore. You don't trust me, you install listening devices and god knows what else. You must feel so proud to get a confession out of me....just because you heard that you think I'll stay and do whatever you want. That makes me want to leave you even more". Ivy's voice quivered and tears streamed down.

Noah had seen her upset and cry when her grandpas watch was broken but her tears where never because of him. A hot, wet tear fell on his hand and he released her chin in shock. It felt like the tear had burnt his hand and his heart.

Seeing Noah just stand there Ivy went to the door grabbing her keys and running out the door. Noah stood in shock then grabbed the whiskey glass draining it's contents before smashing it off the wall.

Aiden ran in after a few minutes and saw Noah putting on his coat.

"Sir security said they saw Ivy leave on her bike. Thomas has left to chase after her." Aiden was in disbelief are the calm days gone is King Yama back. Why could his boss not learn to sweet talk his lover.

"What time is the meeting tonight." Noah was impatient to get things started he needed to release his anger on someone.

"Eh... in an hour sir." Aiden's heart sank and he felt a sense of the calm before the storm.

"Lets go." Noah strode out of his cold, empty apartment. He was not willing to return till Ivy did.
