A few days past and nothing much had happened. Ivy was content with the normality of things. Ivy sat with a cup of tea looking out at the City view from Noah's apartment and thought about everything that had happened recently.
They had had their first big fight and then like a normal girl she got jealous and a bit silly. All that would have made any man run but Noah stayed the same demanding, possessive lover he had always been. He never wavered, he reminded Ivy of an old poem.
(The tree wants peace but the wind is relentless)
Ivy wasn't sure if she was the tree and Noah was relentless in his passion and care towards her. Or was he the sturdy tree and she constantly challenged him? Although she wasn't sure where their relationship was going she was enjoying the moments they shared.
She had kept in touch with Teo, he was at the secret guard camp training and his mother was being cared for by a caregiver that Ivy had arranged. Teo wouldn't be finished training for a few weeks so she had time to get things sorted for now.
Ivy was lazing around the house over the past few days she had done a few black Market jobs. Half the money she had sent to Pierce, who said the restaurant will be opening soon. The other half was used to help Teo. She would need to start earning again soon. Ivy stood up to make herself more tea when her phone buzzed. She lifted it and saw a text message from Jamie.
(Tonight Darcy's @ 8pm)
Reading the text from Jamie she couldn't help but roll her eye's. Although it was a tradition she thought it wasn't necessary to celebrate her birthday, to Ivy it was just another day. When her mum was alive she had amazing birthday parties with balloons and a cake but then after she died her father never celebrated it anymore. It wasn't until she met Jamie and Pierce in school that they started to celebrate with her.
Every year on her birthday they would do something fun, it was always new and refreshing. It kept her mind off the fact that her mother wasn't around and she knew that that was their intention. They had gone bowling, indoor skiing, karaoke, the amusement park and the beach just to name a few.
Ivy sighed and texted back although it reminded her that another year had passed without her mum, she knew her two caring friends wanted her to be happy so she would go like always and enjoy whatever they had planned.
(See you tonight)
Ivy thought for a bit then decided to txt Noah, she didn't usually txt him especially when he was at work. But she thought she would let him know about her plans.
(Going out with Jamie and Pierce later, probably a late one. Have fun at work taking over the world xx)
Ivy tucked away her phone in her pocket and went to the door. Sure enough, Thomas stood there.
"I can ring you if I'm going out you know."
"I'd feel better being here, so I'll just wait for orders."
"Come in and sit then, you're making me feel bad with you standing outside the door like that."
Thomas deliberated for a bit then followed Ivy inside.
"Your posture is good and you can fight...did you serve in the army?."
"Yes, four years then I retired due to a small injury. I was recruited by Noah to be his guard then moved to head guard soon after."
"I feel bad you have to look after me."
"Don't... although you think I'm annoying I quite like spending time with you. You like an annoying little sister."
"Gee thanks." Ivy rolled her eyes and she inwardly agreed that he was just like an elder brother.
"Its a compliment." Thomas sat down and scratched his nose a bit embarrassed at his statement.
"I don't believe you, but anyway I'll be going out tonight with Jamie and Pierce so stay here and chill out while I get ready."
"I can't do that." Thomas shook his head Noah wouldn't like him and Ivy inside his apartment together.
"Relax, Thomas do me a favour I don't want you standing around waiting on me it makes me a rush."
Thomas agreed to sit and wait while Ivy got ready he txt Aiden about what they would be doing later. He knew there was a big meeting today so he didn't want to disturb Noah.
Meanwhile at Noah Adler's Company
Noah sat at the head of the board room. He had just listened to reports on each one of his businesses. He tapped the large desk and sat back, glaring at each one that had reported to him. Two where truthful the others had failed in sales and or there targets for the quarter year. He had no time for incompetency or liars.
"You two." He pointed at the two lacking businesses but truthful managing directors. The managing directors held their breath as Noah's icy glare struck them, they shifted about in there seats waiting to be slaughtered. "Report to Aiden in half an hour.
"Next, you leave and keep improving." The managing director of a night club Noah owned smiled and ran out. His sales had doubled this quarter so he was very lucky.
"Aiden everyone else here is fired. Hire some more competent staff."
Noah got up fixed his suit and went out of the board room his mood had gotten worse with each report. He quickly made his way to his office. The men and women managing directors had given him a headache. They lacked responsibility for their actions and failed to report when the business was dipping in sales.
Aiden had secretly hoped that Ivy would call the boss home for dinner soon so he could take a break from his bosses wrath. He checked the bosses phone for him. Aiden kept his phone during meetings encase of emergencies so he could leave and respond to them for his boss. Seeing a text from Ivy he was over the moon. Have his prayers been answered?
"Sir... sir its a txt from Ivy." Aiden quickly passed the phone to Noah.
