Ivy recognized the tone; it was a reminder that Noah wasn't happy. "Like I've said, Your mine. And besides, if she tries it again I will personally skin her alive."
Noah's thin lips curved. His grip relaxed and Ivy saw her opportunity to flee. She climbed off Noah's lap and sat on the edge of her desk.
"So you do remember what you've said at the restaurant." A teasing look hung from Noah's face.
"Of – of course, I do!" Ivy looked away, her cheeks turned pink with a faint blush. "And I mean it when I say that I'd leave you in a heartbeat if you accepted her invitation or any other women."
Noah enjoyed seeing her possessive behaviour, he stood and nudged Ivy chin upwards, forcing her to look at him. "No problem; and I'm am telling you I will chase you even to hell if I have to and drag you back to my side if you try to leave me," he said softly before planting a quick kiss on Ivys red lips.
Ivy managed to push Noah away. But Noah grabbed her hand and led her out of her office.
"Wait I still have to finish my proposal."
Noah didn't turn to look at her and remarked indifferently. "We are going for dinner."
They got in the lift together and Ivy saw that Thomas and Aiden hurried to follow them. Once reaching the car park they both entered Noahs Lincoln Navigator. Thomas entered the driving seat and Aiden sat on the passenger side.
Ivy tried to stop her blushing so she took slow breaths. This man strode into her office proclaims his intentions then whisked her off to dinner, she felt the warmth from the man beside her.
Thomas started the car. "Where to boss?"
"The Blue Bird," Noah declared indifferently.
Noah took out his phone to answer emails and Ivy was ignoring him as she tried to slow down her racing heart.
The arrived at The Blue Bird in twenty minutes and Ivy and Noah got off the car together. Noah held her hand as he walked in. They were of course greeted by management as soon as they walked in.
Ivy looked around as they were being shown to the private terrace. The Blue Bird was a modern European restaurant and bar with outside terraces and lounge. Bluebird is a stylish establishment and she could tell it was lavish and expensive to dine here. The room was intimately lit, and it gave it a romantic feel.
Noah pulled out Ivys chair and she say down, he then sat opposite her.
The manager stood back and waited for an order from Noah.
"A bottle of Chateau Rauzan-Segla," Noah ordered without even looking in the manager's direction, he then scurried off to get the CEO his order.
"So what are your plans at Hughes Investments?" Noah enquired.
Ivy smiled and sat back. "I plan to build it back up, remove the dead weight and make someone miserable." She smiled cheerfully.
"Good."
The manager returned and you'd them wine before setting doen the bottle and standing back.
Noah looked to Ivy. She only remembered that they hadn't ordered yet. "Oh, you pick for me."
Noah smiled at her and called out a few dishes. the dishes didn't take long to arrive, after all the kitchen and staff would never make Noah Adler wait.
Noah had ordered them crispy duck salad with bok choi, monkfish tail with steamed broccoli, sirloin steak with grilled asparagus and a spiced spatchcock chicken with the creamy champ.
Ivy started to get hungry at the feast before her.
Ring Ring
Just then Noah's phone rang and his eyebrows furrowed seeing who it was he got up and apologised to Ivy before he answered it. After leaving the room Ivy didn't eat, she wouldn't until he returned. She got bored, picking up her glass of wine she stood up to look out over the balcony.
She thought if all the things Noah had done for her up until now. Noah had given her a home, warmth and the independence to do as she pleased. Noah had given her an unforgettable birthday with her grandparents and had dinner with her father. He worried for her safety and gets Thomas to accompanied her everywhere.
"Even employing Thomas...why do so much for me?" She whispered into the night.
But little did she know Noah had returned and was smiling at her slim figure. He had heard her whisper. "Thomas is with you to keep you safe." Ivy heard Noah proclaim.
Ivy turned her head and saw Noah, she didn't know if it was the alcohol but she blurted out the first thing in her mind. "You know, for you to do so much for someone like me, you must love me huh?"
The question didn't seem to faze Noah. He walked behind Ivy and put his arms around Ivys small waist, spinning her around to face him as he then stared into her sparkling emerald eyes.
"I'm surprised it took you so long to realise," Noah smirked at her.
A straight forward confession was something Ivy least expected. She knew that Noah must have some sort of feelings for her. After all, who on earth would spend thousands of yen just to please someone?
Fuck, she cursed inwardly what the hell am I supposed to say? Ivy was thankful that the lights were dimmed in the restaurant or she would be caught blushing. Tongue-tied, she could only turn her head and stare at the night sky.
"Cat got your tongue?" Noah teased her.
"No, I – I was just –" Ivy mumbled, her cheeks turned crimson. Damn it, how could she stay so calm?
She looked outside and saw the twinkling lights in the trees they matched the stars in the sky. Making Ivy think that this is a perfect spot for lovers to gaze at the stars.
She felt something heavy on her shoulders and realized that Noah had draped his long black jacket around her.
