Ivy took out Thomas's laptop and got down to business. She felt responsible for what had happened to Thomas, yes he was there to protect her. But she always saw him as a friend first and foremost. Today had been a close call for her and it served as a warning. She had to take precautions in future not just for herself but for Thomas and Teo who put their lives on the line to guard her.
While she input codes into the laptop and her fingers flew across the keys rapidly. Thomas and Teo had watched her in awe patiently. Time passed quickly and their drinks and food had arrived before long.
Pierce had brought Ivy her food and placed it in front of her. Seeing she didn't lift her head to eat the scrumptious food he sighed and sat down beside her. She would often do this, her routine would be work twenty four seven and he and Jamie had to remind her to eat and sleep.
Knowing she was likely busy and wouldn't stop to eat any time soon Pierce sighed and looked at Thomas and Teo, "Eat up, she is in the zone."
Nodding the two guards started to eat and soon all that could be heard was cutlery and Ivys fingers on the keyboard. While Ivy input codes Pierce picked up her fork and fed her, this was just like old times and they soon got into a rhythm.
"Got you!" Ivy suddenly sat back and happily shouted.
The three around her had finished eating long ago and were sat patiently waiting for her to wrap up whatever she was doing. They looked at her expectantly waiting for her to fill them in.
"Oh... So I located the guy who threw the brick and hurt Thomas, the cops have already arrested him for his gambling and blackmailing he is accused of. That part only took ten minutes at most the rest of the time I was busy with this." Ivy spun her laptop around to show them her hard work.
Ivy looked pleased with herself as she showed them her hard work. A smile formed on her face as she sat back and drank the tea which Pierce had freshly poured for her.
"Excellent." Thomas beamed at Ivy, she was always one to take action after the slightest grievance and well Governor Anna deserved it.
"She did all that? What a corrupt Governor!" Teo was a bit stunned but if Ivy had found this evidence then it must be true.
"Hey Pierce, thanks for you know." Ivy thanked her friend, she knew he fed her and kept her company. Just like the old days.
"No problem, that's what friends are for. So what happened and why is Governor Anna involved." Pierce asked.
Ivy sighed and filled Pierce in on what had happened so far. He wasn't shocked after finding out that Anna coveted Noah after all he was the Cities most wanted bachelor and richest man. What shocked him was the lengths a woman would go to to get a man.
"So what's the plan? Are you releasing this information?" Pierce asked, he knew Ivy and it wasn't her style to sit back.
Ivy looked to Thomas and Teo, "Well no doubt Noah will know about this incident from these two. But I'll ask him to let me handle it, he needs Governor Anna for business so he can't go against her. But I am a civilian I have no problem doing so."
"So what's the next step?" Pierce wanted Ivy to show that Anna woman exactly who she shouldn't mess with.
"For starters, she will be wondering what happened, her accomplice is in jail and she can't bail him out so I'll leave it at that for now. Let her stew then I will send her sneak peeks of what I have on her." Ivy finished the warm and soothing tea after she explained it to everyone at the table.
Tonight she had to see Noah and not only fill him in but also she missed him. Last night was a lesson for both of them. For her, she learnt how one night apart was too much and she hoped he had learnt about the women that may try to approach him. After all who wanted to share their lover.
They all sat around the table and chatted. Mostly Ivy and Pierce caught up about life, love and the restaurant. Before long it was starting to get dark out.
"Shall we go? I heard from Aiden that Noah was due home early." Thomas announced as he checked his phone for the time.
"Okay, Pierce I will see you again soon and thank you for lunch as always it was tasty." Ivy turned to Pierce and then hugged him goodbye. Pierce had done extremely well with the restaurant. He looked more relaxed and happy in his own environment.
"Keep in touch Ivy, I miss my besty." Pierce ruffled her hair as they stopped hugging.
"Sure, I will be back for more pasta... Oh, give me some brownies to go." Ivy requested.
Pierce laughed and went to his kitchen, he brought back three to-go boxes and handed them out to each of them. Ivy had brownies in her box and Teo and Thomas had a box each which was filled with an assortment of small cakes and patisseries.
"Thanks." Thomas and Teo answered at the same time.
They waved goodbye and walked out of the restaurant together. They got into their car and headed for home. Teo drove while Thomas opened his to-go box.
A smile spread on Thomas's face as he tucked into all the sweet treats inside. Ivy laughed he must have a sweet tooth she thought.
Ivy laughed, "Pierce makes delicious food doesn't he."
Thomas turned and saw not only Ivy smiling but Teo was too, he had cream on his lip and he huffed, "I need the sugar after getting hurt."
"Sure, whatever you want to tell yourself as long as you enjoy it I will ask Pierce to make you more," Ivy replied, what was a few pastries in comparison to all he does for her.
