Victor coughed, he was nervous, "I am really very sorry for intruding in your home Noah. I won't stay long, thank you for taking me in at such short notice."
Ivy sat between her father and Noah on the sofa and glanced at Noah he gave no response and his face was blank. Ivy then turned to her father, "So what happened?"
Victor sat back on the sofa and rubbed his temples, he didn't want to burden his daughter but he had would certainly add to her worries now. He couldn't look his daughter in her eyes as he replied, "I have made a huge mistake. When you disappeared, I mean when you…"
Ivy helped her father out as she never blamed him for the choices that he made for her, he had only done what he had thought was right for her at the time, "That's in the past what happened today?"
Victor sighed and replied, "I am so very sorry for all that. I should have let you make your own choices in life. When you were away I realised how hard you had been working at the company, I had to stay late to catch up and I ended up drinking a lot because of my many mistakes… but this one I am not sure I can come back from."
Noah at this point had had enough of Victor beating around the bush with the problem. He had never let any of his subordinates ramble on like this, he only contained his impatience because it was Ivy's father.
Ivy too had had enough, "What is it? I don't care about the past we are living in the present."
Victor felt even worse after hearing that, he was indeed a useless father, "Well I was drinking a lot back then so you can maybe understand… Today Cole gave me a document that not only extended his contract with our company but it also included the deed to our family home."
"What the…" Ivy was about to curse but stopped herself as her father was already punishing himself enough.
"It gets worse." Victor hung his head in shame, "Lauren and Cole moved in today. I don't know how it all happened. I must have signed something when I was drunk. I'm just not sure why they waited until now to produce the document."
Ivy went pale and she felt a headache coming on. Seeing her face pale Noah stood and walked to the kitchen he then brought her some painkillers and handed her a bottle of water.
Ivy smiled up at the simple and caring gesture and took the tablets. Her father had lost her family home to two scumbags and now she had to deal with Cole every day at work when she was waiting till the day she could kick him out.
Noah was quiet as he contemplated the situation, he was always a man of few words and preferred to act.
Ivy sighed, "I don't care about the house it's just bricks and mortar but my mother's belongings are still inside and I don't want Lauren to get her hands on them."
Noah took out his phone and called Aiden, "Go to Ivy's family home and remove all the belongings and take them to one of my empty houses." He then hung up as expected of his team Aiden would know exactly what to do.
Noah then turned to Ivy and without saying a word picked her up from the sofa in a princess carry and walked towards the bedroom.
Ivy was shocked as her father was still sitting on the sofa and she wasn't used to public displays of affection. She whispered, "What are you doing?"
Noah smirked and spoke to her Victor as he walked, "Make yourself at home in the spare room, Ivy doesn't seem to be feeling well." Ivy was just after recovering from being poisoned and he was worried any extra stress may have on her body.
Victor called out after the two, "Don't mind me." He felt slightly sheepish as he would be imposing on Noah Adler, he had always looked up to him as the young man had made himself into a household name taking over the business world at such a young age. But he was content that Ivy had found someone that could take care of her now, he didn't know what he was thinking trying to partner her up with a snake like Cole in the past.
Inside the bedroom, Ivy protested, "What are you doing we have a lot to sort out and to talk out."
Noah didn't speak, he placed her on the bed and hovered over her with a smile on his face.
"Stop it, whatever you are thinking don't! My father will be staying next door." Ivy protested and placed both of her hands on Noah's strong chest.
Noah smirked and took off her top leaving her exposed and her cheeks flushed, "Then you will have to be quiet." He then crushed their mouths together.
Noah then proceeded to torture Ivy until she passed out on his chest with a blissful smile on her face. Noah fixed her hair, kissed her forehead and then rolled her off his chest. He made sure she was warm and comfortable before he sat up and got off the bed.
Noah got in the shower and put on a fresh suit before he left the bedroom. There was no one in the living room but when he scanned the balcony he noticed Victor was standing out in the cold dead of night smoking.
Noah didn't have time for a man like Victor he only gave him the time of day for Ivy's sake. He really couldn't understand a man that would force his daughter to marry someone, he took away her free will no wonder she ran. No matter she was his now and he would always be there for her.
Noah took out his phone dialling Aiden's number and when he heard it connect he spoke in a cold tone, "Report."
