It had been a couple of weeks since the night at the club and everything seemed to go back to normal. Ivy had found out that Lauren was in an Asylum and the news didn't shock or bother her. Noah was ruthless by nature so she had actually expected a more cutthroat approach from him. The asylum was more her style, to leave Lauren alive and in hell for as long as possible.
Lauren and Cole had it coming. But Cole floated in her mind, not because she missed him or felt something for him, she was just curious to find out what had happened to him.
Ivy sat on their large master bed curled up in the duvet contemplating, she wore a white fluffy crop top and matching shorts. She was cosy and didn't want to move.
Noah was going on a short trip to a neighbouring city to check out a new development site. He didn't want to leave Ivy and had wanted her to accompany him but she wanted to stay home. He reluctantly was leaving her with Teo as her guard. Thomas would take over at his company for the next few days and Aiden would accompany him on the trip.
Her headaches had not gone and although she never complained about it he had noticed the amount of tablets she was taking in order to cope. She usually refused any pain relief so he knew she must be in pain or else she wouldn't be taking the amount of painkillers she had been. He had Dr Stewart call to the penthouse three times over the past couple of weeks and he had said that she was okay. It was just her body coping after the poisoning and it should go away over time.
Noah was concerned he had also noticed that she was tired more often and her appetite had decreased. She had explained her tiredness was due to their nightly activities but it didn't seem right to Noah.
Noah saw her in her cosy pyjamas and he wanted to return to bed and consume her one more time before he left but the doorbell interrupted his thoughts. His steps were halted and he picked up his suit jacket putting it on. He watched her crawl towards him and pick up his tie, he loved it when she did this.
The doorbell had stopped Ivy from asking about Cole and when she had noticed the fire in Noah's eyes she thought she was in for another round of lovemaking but the doorbell saved her. She then realised he would be leaving her for a few days and she was sad, she would miss his warmth in bed and silent but gentle conversation.
She crawled over the huge duvet and picked up his tie, she flipped up his collar and fed the tie around his neck. She glanced up and in the instant, their eyes met she pulled him towards her with his tie crushing their mouths together. She was easily lost in his eyes, they pulled her towards him.
Hearing a knock at the door she reluctantly pulled away and continued to put on his tie, she didn't dare to look up again as she may attack him again. She heard him chuckle when she finished his tie and put down his collar.
"What?" Ivy asked, she wondered if he could read her thoughts as he had laughed right when she thought of kissing him again.
Noah had laughed because after she had pulled away her cheeks were pink and she bit her lip, "Your gonna miss me?" He said it as a statement, "It's not too late to join me."
Ivy kept her arms wrapped around his neck as she rolled her eyes and replied, "Walking around builders yards, going for lunches and dinners with some old businessman, no thank you. I will go out and party while you are not here."
"Yeah you're right I am not looking forward to those dinners either. I will rush and come back quickly." Noah held her waist rubbing small circles with his thumbs.
"No need to rush, you have to rest also, don't work through the nights." Ivy knew Noah's old pattern was to drink and work through the nights, it was probably how he had gotten to where he was today but she didn't want him to do that anymore.
"Okay I won't as long as you rest too and if you do go out take Teo also come home early no drinking while your taking painkillers." Noah always compromised with Ivy. Actually, she was the only one he would compromise with.
"Sure daddy." Ivy teased knowing there was nothing he could do now as his plane was waiting for him. This word seemed to set him off and knowing that she rarely used it.
"Tease me any more babe and I will tell the pilot to put off the flight for a few hours." Noah pulled her closer and he lightly bit her neck.
"Damm rich CEO." Ivy pushed his strong chest away and glanced up at him. She had forgotten that he owned the plane and it would wait for him. She realised her mistake and got off the bed walking to the door.
Noah watched her run away and smiled, so bold one moment and then she flees the next. If he didn't have a meeting as soon as he landed he would pin her to the bed. He fixed his suit, and picked up her matching fluffy dressing gown and followed behind her.
Ivy walked into the living room and saw Aiden and Teo waiting, she felt warmth surrounding her. Noah had placed her dressing gown over her shoulders and tied the cord.
"Morning guys, Aiden please make sure he gets some rest." Ivy greeted both men.
"Morning Ivy, of course, I will," Aiden responded, his single heart was feeling empty recently with the amount of dog food his boss was feeding him. Since the poisoning, he had noticed Noah being a lot more tactile with Ivy. He put it down to the sudden fear of losing Ivy had made Noah more protective and proactive.
