Carlson winked at Leena. "Let's go get that wine," he said to her.
A young boss raised his eyebrow and said jokingly, "Carlson, how dare you leave just as the party's peaking!"
"Relax, I'm just going to order two more bottles of wine," Carlson answered calmly.
The young man didn't look satisfied with his answer. It seemed he was going to say something more, but the elder one shook his head, so they let Carlson leave in peace.
Based on how the men responded, these people probably wanted to know Carlson's attitude towards Dylan. However, this whole time, Carlson had been smoking in silence, waiting for the perfect excuse to escape.
Unfortunately, Leena was still frozen in place, unwilling to leave. Carlson, strode over to her and placed his hand firmly on the small of her back. "Curiosity kills the cat, Miss Yang," he whispered into her ear. "Aren't you going to join me?"
Leena trembled slightly. Eventually, she acquiesced and followed him outside. It was only when they got out of the VIP room did she realize how stupid she had been. No matter how curious she was about her brother's well-being, it was not a good idea to eavesdrop in front of these big shots. If she went on and got caught, who knows what could've happened to her? She sighed resignedly. Having heard a lead about her brother after so many years of him gone had sparked new hope for her, but it was just as quickly extinguished.
At the same time, she pondered over what Carlson said just now. What did he mean by "curiosity kills the cat"? Did he somehow read her mind? How did he even notice that she got so excited over the name "Peterson Yang"? A terrible idea suddenly occurred to her. As Carlson dragged her outside, she suddenly lost feeling in her legs.
Taking a deep breath, she managed to carry herself-- enough to order two bottles of wine. While waiting for their order, Leena couldn't help but blurt out, "Mr. Carlson, did you figure out my true identity?"
She looked at him with big, expectant eyes. Her stomach tied knots as she waited for his answer. Leena was sure Carlson had figured it out. After all, he had dropped some subtleties before, but she wasn't so sure. Unfortunately, the mention of Peterson Yang gave it away. It was meaningless for her to pretend like she didn't know anything. Moreover, she would rather stare at the cold hard truth in the face than live in paranoia.
Sadly, it was Carlson now who acted clueless. He raised an eyebrow and smiled at her. "What are you talking about?" he asked innocently. "Isn't Director Yang your true identity?"
His smile revealed a hint of malice. Leena admired this man, but was he really going to force her to confess? Her mind raced. Biting her lip, she asked again, "You just said, 'curiosity kills the cat.' Did you think that I'm curious about something?"
Carlson chuckled, raised her chin gently with his hand, and said, "You look like an angry cat right now, Miss Yang." Leena was fuming at this point, but before she could retort, he added, "Unfortunately, I do know about your background. If Alina knew, how could I not know?"
He finally admitted the truth! Leena couldn't figure out how she felt. Was she flustered, scared, or upset? Wordlessly, she glared at him.
Carlson found it interesting to taunt her like this, so he smiled at her devilishly. "Your surname is Yang, and your real name is actually Leena, a student of A University, and Peterson Yang's sister. Aren't you curious about your brother's whereabouts?" he continued, his hand slowly caressing her cheek.
Annoyed, she swatted his hand away. "So, you do know me!" She had suspected that he knew her true identity all along.
Carlson ran his fingers along his face to enjoy the smooth and delicate scent of her skin. "Then, should I continue to call you Miss Yang, or just Leena?" He raised his eyebrows at her questioningly.
At this point, Leena was absolutely vexed. She didn't know if this was so
mething to be alarmed about. At a loss for words, she turned around abruptly and crossed her arms, like a child in a tantrum. "Since you're aware that I care about my brother, can you just tell me where he is?" she finally asked.
Carlson chuckled. "Is that how you're supposed to act when you're begging for something?"
Leena willed herself to calm down. She turned around again to face him and gave him a sultry smile. Running her fingers across his chest, she yanked his tie seductively. "What do you want, Mr. Carlson?" Before he could answer, she added, "I can promise you anything, except sleeping with you. I only sleep with someone I like."
Carlson raised his eyebrows at her sudden change of attitude. Pinching her cheek lightly, he whispered, "Go to the dance floor. If you manage to entertain me, I'll tell you everything."
With a determined look in her eyes, Leena slipped out of her coat and strutted over to the dance floor. This time, she looked even sexier. She was wearing a red V-neck tight dress, and red high-heeled shoes. Step by step, she hustled her way through the noisy dance floor, dancing along with the rhythm.
When she appeared, everyone went wild because they all recognized that she was the director of this hotel. It was difficult to watch her dance, so everyone made way for her. As soon as the other dancers dispersed, she immediately danced to the beat. When she was a child, she had studied piano and ballet. Later, in order to enter the hotel, she had worked hard on dancing and singing for several years. She could do all kinds of difficult styles, but tonight, she chose something hot. The moment she started moving to the beat, everyone present was slack-jawed from screaming and clapping in awe.
Carlson was watching from afar with admiration. She was so beautiful, dancing there, that he wanted to stay where he was, eyes glued on her. However, Leena gestured for him to join her. She invited him to dance on the stage with her. Even though he was in his early thirties already, he had been partying for a long time now, so he was a capable dancer. The two of them danced together. She tried her best to tease him, but she eluded his excited hands. Sadly, he couldn't seem to catch her.
At this point, the enthusiasm of the whole room reached its peak. Almost everyone was watching them, and even the bosses from the Empire Group walked out of the VIP room to watch the show. From their vantage point upstairs, the young boss pointed at the dance floor and exclaimed excitedly, "Look! It's Carlson and Miss Yang!"
The elder men were dazed; especially the eldest one. His expression darkened, and he seemed lost in his thoughts. Meanwhile, just then, Spencer, Miguel, and some others arrived at the Heaven Hotel. As soon as Spencer saw who were at the dance floor, his mouth fell open. He patted Miguel's shoulder with one hand and pointed at the two people in the middle of the dance floor with his other hand. "No freaking way! Do my eyes deceive me? How could Miss Yang wear such revealing clothes while dancing and flirting with a man?"
Miguel wore a grim expression when he realized what was happening.
Leena, on the other hand, didn't care that she was attracting everyone's attention. Her objective right now was to seduce Carlson with everything she had. In the end, Carlson couldn't hold back any longer. He dragged her off the dance floor, and they fled to an isolated rest area nearby. Everyone burst into applause when they thought that the dance was over. Carlson held her hand and walked hurriedly. When nobody was watching, he pressed her against the wall and kissed her.
Leena was taken aback and was a little confused at first. She didn't react until he started kissing her even harder. She struggled and tried to push him away, but he locked his arm around her as he kissed her desperately. Leena still tried to push him away, but he pinched her chin and forced her mouth to open.
