Chapter 80 - Daurl The Disgraced Hero

After Ulrrek announced me as the winner, the orc guards escorted me back to same room with the other competitors, while they carried my defeated opponent somewhere else so that he can drink a healing potion, and to join the other inmates in the stand, I look around the room and think to myself.

"we're now down to the final eight."

I then shift my focus to Selshruuk, realizing that having a match against him may become a reality, and as I try to have a conversation with him, I get intercepted by the human that I'm fighting next, and then I think to myself.

"oh yeah I forgot for a moment that I'm facing him in the upcoming round."

he asks me with a seriousness in his voice.

"were you born with the hero's blessing?"

I respond.

"what makes you ask that?"

I pause for a moment and follow up with another question.

"is it because you were born with the Hero's blessing?"

he answers.

"yeah, how else would I be able to fight all these savages physically, and seeing how you fought that orc I assumed that you were also born with the Hero's blessing."

he then asks.

"am I correct with my assessment?"

I then think to myself.

"I should probably go along with his assumption of me."

I respond.

"yeah me too."

he chuckles and says.

"now it makes more sense on why you admire that loser Arthur."

I then think to myself.

"I actually admire all the heroes, but since this guy is pretty annoying, I'll just say that Arthur is my only inspiration."

I respond.

"so what's your problem with me admiring Arthur,

It has nothing to do with you."

he replies with a hint of anger.

"because fighting with fists is barbaric."

and as he looks at Selshruuk, he says.

"you have to be as low as those damned Dragonoids, if you even consider trying to fight physically."

I then think to myself.

"now I see why, he hates it so much."

the humans in this world, still hold a special hatred towards the Dragonoids even after the end of the war, but then again they hold the same prejudices towards the other races, he then interrupts my train of thoughts.

"and besides we are amazing at magic, so there's no point in getting involved in such a disgusting way of fighting."

"but you just fought that demi-human physically and not only that, you were also worried earlier."

he clears his throat.

"well I've got no choice, in this matter, and I was only worried because of this exact reason which is lowering myself to their status."

I respond in my head.

"and here I thought, that I couldn't possibly hate him anymore than I did when he first talked to me."

he sighs and then asks.

"so what special magic were you born with?"

I grin at him and reply.

"my eyes turn silver and that increase my physical strength."

"basically you and that loser Arthur share similar trash tier magic."

I then snap at him.

"okay I had enough of this, if he was really a loser like you say, then a statue of him would not have been built in front of the magical academy."

he replies.

"of course garbage would sympathize with trash."

my anger caused my face to twitch, which caused me to ask him.

"and what about you huh, what makes you better than someone who you refer as trash?"

he looks at me with disdain, and he responds menacingly.

"not only are you garbage, but apparently you are not very a bright person either, if you don't know who I am."

"there's no point in talking to this guy, his high and mighty attitude makes it unbearable to do so."

he continues to talk.

"I caused an uprising at Telpon kingdom, I led the people to fight against King Jullian, but unfortunately I was stopped by others born with the Hero's Blessing and because of this, I was branded the Disgraced Hero."

I then ask.

"was that the reason you ended up here in Burmendak?"

he grins and responds.

"yes."

I then reply.

"well It must have happened when I was away from home, dealing with much more important things."

"you know I was trying to keep my cool and be courteous with a fellow human, who was also born with the Hero's Blessing, but you just keep on running you mouth, saying things that really kiss me off, and I've had enough of your shit."

I reply.

"good, I also had enough of you bad mouthing a hero who had an important role in the war, if it wasn't for him and the other two, you and me would most likely be living as slaves under the Dragonoids that you hate so much."

he the says to me.

"that is it, forget the match, I Daurl Huron of the Telpon Kingdom will dispose of garbage such of yourself, right now."

I ready myself to fight and respond.

"go ahead and try it bitch."

he clinches his fists getting ready to throw a punch, but then we are interrupted by the orc guards yelling.

"enough, save it for your fight!"

I then say to him.

"well Daurl Huron, I Collin Belfaust of Rozlania Kingdom will mess you up when we fight and show you that physical combat is not trash."

he responds.

"we'll see about that."

he then walks away and sits down not even bothering with trying to watch the matches, and as I watch the next match between Selshruuk and an Orc, I think to myself.

"did he really cause an uprising in another kingdom, if that is true, then I must've missed alot stuff while I was with Sid and the others, fighting in the Lizardmen civil war, also dealing with Atlas and Abigail."

and as Selshruuk gets another quick victory, I think to myself.

"either way it doesn't matter, I can't lose to Daurl."

then as Ulrrek announces the prison numbers of me and Daurl, I get a final thought before we follow the orc guards.

"this is it, our fight is here, it's time to kick some a.s.s."
