Chapter 118 - Lord Vernon, The Abomination

We stare directly at Lord Vernon in his abomination form, trying hard not to show our fear, he sniffs the air and chuckles disturbingly.

"I smell your fear, and yet you don't run away."

he approaches us, causing the ground to shake underneath us and continues talking.

"did my appearance, leave you frozen in fear?"

I respond by chanting.

"silver eyes."

he laughs once again and asks.

"is it foolish bravery or false hope that is keeping you here?"

Ying answers.

"it's none of those, vile creature!"

Celeste invades my mind to plead.

"Master Collin, what are you doing, get out of there please."

I answer.

"sorry but we need to stop Vernon here and now or the death toll will continue to rise."

I chant.

"silver eyes."

Lord Vernon responds asks with amus.e.m.e.nt.

"oh so you really do intend to fight me?"

Ying ignores his question and angrily shouts with his finger aiming at Vernon.

"particle beam cannon!"

while the red line of condensed particles, fires out of Ying's finger, I charge at Lord Vernon hoping the magic attack from Ying distracted him, but Lord Vernon chuckles, and lands a quick kick that sends me flying in the ten feet into the air, I then chant.

"self reinforcement."

my body became heavy, but the spell at least saved me from taking damage from the huge drop, I quickly make my way back to them, where I see Ying still firing many particle beam cannons at Lord Vernon, I then think to myself.

"how am I supposed to get close enough to attack him with my punches?"

Lord Vernon laughs at Ying.

"such pitiful attacks will do nothing to me!"

but Ying ignores his taunting and keeps on going, until Lord Vernon, shouts sounding more annoyed then angry.

"vampire blood breath."

Lord Vernon shoots out a blood red mist from his mouth, I quickly jump in front of Ying making sure that the robes I'm wearing covers the both of us as Ying chants.

"particle shield."

the mist evaporates Ying's particle shield, but thanks to Rosie's robe, we are left unharmed from his seemingly powerful magic attack, I then think to myself.

"I need to stick close to Ying, so that I can shield him from Lord Vernon's magic."

Lord Vernon, chuckles.

"how long to expect that robe to last against my attacks?"

I respond confidently.

"long enough, for us to kill you, once and for all."

Ying then asks me.

"so what's the plan here?"

I reply unsure.

"I was hoping, to get some physical offensive on him, but it looks like getting close to him, is a lot harder than I expected."

Celeste then says in my mind.

"Master Collin, since the soldiers have killed many vampires and no longer acquire our assistance, me and the others are going transform, and come support you."

I reply as I shield me and Ying from another of Lord Vernon's, vampire blood breath.

"don't, Vernon has become extremely powerful."

she responds.

"well, since you decided to stay and fight him, the rest of us want to do the same."

I then come up with an idea and slightly turn my head back to him and shout.

"use particle beam, I think I can get up close to him!"

as I block another attack from Vernon, Ying asks.

"why?"

I answer.

"despite me being against it, the others are coming to help us, and I need to find a way to distract him."

he replies.

"yeah I can do that."

he then shouts.

"particle tsunami!"

a fifty foot wave of red particles manifests in front of him completely towers over Lord Vernon and as it comes crashing down on him, I quickly run behind it and shout.

"mana shift!"

Lord Vernon yells as he laughs arrogantly.

"even though I can't see, I can sense through your cheap tricks!"

I manage to close in on him and as he looks around for my mana signature, I shout.

"wolf's rage!"

the familiar sensation of my body temperature rises and every muscle begins to bulge and tense up, I then think to myself.

"even if this disables me for a short while, hopefully I can still damage his body enough for the others to take advantage of."

I run up to him and throw my strongest punch at his kneecap, where a loud snap rings through the air, which causes him to scream in pain, and to come crashing down to the ground, I quickly power out of wolf's rage, and to my surprise I was left unaffected by it, I then think to myself.

"that's strange, usually the physical backlash would kick in by now."

Lord Vernon suddenly grabs onto my right leg with both of his massive hands and as he pulling me towards his mouth, he angrily shouts.

"if I can't kill you, I'll just eat you!"

trying not to panic, I struggle around and throw a flurry of punches on his many fingers, hoping that I can force him to loosen his tight grip on my leg, Lord Vernon laughs.

"your resistance is amusing."

but then his laugh is replaced by more painful screaming, as Celeste, Gresnor, Felnor and Selshruuk, bite and claw at him in their werewolf forms, I then shout at them as Vernon loosens his grip.

"it's about time, you guys showed up."

James and Master Valtak, help me stand up, as Ying fires more particle beam cannons at him, I then say to them.

"keep attacking him, we can't give him any room to breathe."

James panics.

"how are we supposed to kill that monster?!"

while Master Valtak shouts with excitement.

"whoa what is that ugly thing?"

I respond with urgency.

"that's Lord Venon, now attack him."

Master Valtak chants as we charge Lord Vernon.

"fist reinforcement."

we join in with the other and start attacking Vernon where ever we can cause damage to him,

completely surrounded by all of us, he yells in frustration.

"insolent fools!"

he then shouts.

"blood rain!"

rain droplets made out of blood, starts pouring down on him and the surrounding area, everyone gets soaked in blood quickly, and since I'm wearing Rosie's robe, I couldn't tell or feel what kind of effect it his having on me, until I look around and notice that everyone is dropping like flies one by one, I then ask Ying.

"what's wrong?"

he replies.

"I feel like my mana has been drained."

I then notice, that Celeste, Gresnor, Felnor and Selshruuk are no longer in werewolf form, and I think to myself.

"shit, is there really nothing I can do?"

Lord Vernon stands up, and as looks me in the eyes, he laughs.

"like I said, nothing you do, can stop me from achieving victory today."

he quickly grabs Gresnor's limp body, and starts bringing him towards his mouth, I panic and think to myself.

"no I can't let that happen."

I charge at Lord Vernon once again, but as I gain ground on him, he smacks me away with ease, I try responding by chanting.

"self reinforcement."

but for some reason it didn't activate and I think to myself.

"what's going on?"

I try once again, but this time my eyes reverts back to normal, and I answer myself.

"f.u.c.k, I've depleted my mana."

as I start falling down, from the air, I see Lord Vernon, take a bite off Gresnor's legs, I then apologize to him in my mind.

"I'm sorry buddy, I couldn't stop him."

but then suddenly a similar white flash bursts up into the sky, causing the sun to emerge once again, which makes Lord Vernon drop Gresnor as

he screams in agony, while my vision fades to black I chuckle softly to myself.

"you just saved our assess, Leonard."
