I enter inside, and fall flat, hitting my face on the cold, hard ground, I groan in pain and ask myself as I stare at the wall of water, covering the entrance.
"what the hell, why is there no water in here?"
Ellena comes inside, with here feet first, trying to avoid what just happened to me, she then asks with her voice echoing throughout the dark and metal hallway.
"how is the water not coming in?"
I respond unsure.
"an enchantment maybe?"
she replies.
"I've never heard of an enchantment capable of holding back an ocean."
"well either way, it's hard to see in here."
I then chant.
"candlelight."
as the long dark hallway, brightens up, Ellen asks.
"what do you think we will find in here?"
I shrug my shoulders.
"I don't know, but it better be worth it."
as we start walking a long hallway, Ellena points at the wall, and asks.
"hey is that a map?"
"yeah and it looks like there a big empty area on the very left, with many connecting hallways."
I point at the big empty area.
"that must be the main area of this dungeon."
she disagrees.
"I don't think so."
I ask.
"what makes you say that?"
she answers.
"I believe the huge area is the ocean and the other hallways are the many entrances to this dungeon."
"so does that mean, the way we came through wasn't the only entrance?"
she nods.
"it would seem so."
I reply.
"alright since you know how to read maps better than me, lead the way."
as I follow her down the long and cold hallway, Ellena asks.
"do you think there are monsters roaming around in this dungeon."
I reply confidently.
"I highly doubt monsters, would have made this place their home."
"you're probably right about that."
we come across a diverging path, and as we stop, I ask.
"which way?"
she points the path on the right.
"this way let's go."
we continue walking, until a loud whirring noise stops Ellena in her tracks, and she asks with some fear in her voice.
"do you hear that?"
I nod.
"yeah, but I don't think it's a monster."
"mana detect."
she replies.
"yeah and whatever it is, it doesn't have any mana."
wanting to see what we are dealing with, I chant.
"silver eyes."
I look down the hallway, but I don't see any heat signatures, I sigh.
"I'm don't see heat signature up ahead, so whatever it is, it doesn't seem to be alive or have any mana."
she shudders.
"that's a scary thought."
"lag behind, while I move forward."
she nods.
"okay, but if there really is something up ahead, I'll be careful not to hit you with my magic."
I chuckle nervously.
"I appreciate it."
as we continue walking down the hallway, the whirring sound, grows louder with every step we take, I then whisper to Ellena.
"we may have to fight, so be prepared."
soon enough we run into a bipedal metal being with blinking lights, I then ask myself.
"what the hell is that a robot?"
the robot turns it's attention to us and speaks in an unknown language, I look back to Ellena and ask.
"did you understand any of it?"
she shakes her head.
"I've never heard of whatever language that thing is speaking."
the robot's eyes light up and speaks the unknown language to us again, I then think to myself.
"shit, now that doesn't sound good."
Ellena chants.
"paralysis blast."
a green ball flies towards the robot, but to our surprise it didn't affect it, Ellena the shouts.
"what the hell, that was supposed to put it to sleep!"
the robot's eyes light up again and speaks in the same unknown language at us with a stiff and threatening stance, and since I didn't want to wait to see what it would do, I stand next to Ellena and chant.
"mobile magic barrier."
my circular green shield, covers both of us, as the robot began to fire a volley of projectiles at us, and since my shield was strong enough to deflect everything it fired at us, I charge at it and hit with a kick, knocking it back, I then think to myself.
"damn, it's pretty sturdy."
I go at it again, but this time I use my fists to see if it does any damage to it, and to my surprise, I didn't leave any dents on it, I then think to myself.
"what the hell kind of metal is it made of, because I just hit it with all my strength."
I continue throwing a mix of punches and kicks, hoping that I can make some kind of dent in its hard metal exterior, but with no such luck, I then think to myself.
"I need to remember that I'm not dealing with a living being made of flesh and bone, like those I've fought before."
the robot begins to make the same whirring noise, and I react by chanting.
"mobile magic barrier."
I look back to Ellena and say to her.
"listen, what I'm about to do next, might cause me some huge physical harm, but I need to do this, so that I can beat that thing."
she nods.
"don't worry about it, if you get hurt, I'll be able to heal you."
I reply, while the robot continues firing at my shield, until it seemed like it needed to reload, I then chant.
"wolf's rage."
I rush the robot once more, with my heightened physical strength, and finally destroy it after a few blows, I then quickly power down from it, and
for some odd reason, I feel fine, I then think to myself.
"that's strange, I didn't feel any pain, just like last time."
I stare at both of my hands and ask myself.
"is my body getting usee to controlling wolf's rage in short bursts?"
Ellena stares at the destroyed robot and asks.
"what kind of monster is that?"
I answer.
"I don't think it was a monster."
she asks.
"what makes you think that?"
I respond while touching the metal parts.
"it's a machine."
she asks.
"how do you know this?"
I reply.
"even if I give you a reason, you wouldn't believe me."
she responds with curiosity.
"try me."
I sigh.
"I'm not from this world."
she laughs.
"you were right, of course I wouldn't believe you."
I reply, feeling deflated.
"yeah I should have known."
she notices hopelessness in my facial expression and asks concerned.
"are you feeling okay?"
I ignore her question.
"let's keep moving, we don't know how many of those things are roaming around here."
we continue walking down the hallway, with nothing but awkward silence between the two of us, and as we arrive a big and spacious space, Ellena says.
"listen, I understand if your mad at me, but can you at least talk to me."
I reply.
"I'm not mad, but I'd rather just not talk about it."
I scan the room, and see all kinds of unknown machines and contraptions, I then think to myself
"holy shit, I can't believe what I'm seeing."
I look at a wall and see a very familiar looking light switch, I stare at for a moment before deciding to switch it on, lighting up the current room, revealing a laboratory that looks like the ones back on Earth.
