Chapter 176 - Mauri At Mons

Upon entering, I hear one of the kings scoff.

"you expect us to believe the word of a Dragonoid?"

Ying exclaims.

"I saw her with my own two eyes, and she is much stronger than the tales she is described in."

King Ryan asks.

"besides her looks, what else did she do, to make you believe it really was Mauri?"

Selshruuk answers.

"she used conjuration magic and Mauri was the only one witg the hero blessing that I've ever witness to ever use that kind of magic."

"unless you all know another individual who can also use conjuration magic."

then the new Queen of Rusllyyn, Reina asks.

"did you ever find out what she wanted?"

I jump in, to respond.

"we were all too injured to ask her anything, so no we didn't find out what her motivation is."

she stares daggers into me and asks with cold voice.

"so fought this Mauri person?"

I think to myself.

"oh crap, now she's going to tell Ellena that I fought and got injured again."

"yes your majesty, we weren't expecting to encounter a powerful foe like her."

she click her tongue at me, and asks with angry tone.

"and yet you challenged an unknown enemy, without scouting what they are capable of?"

King Dave chimes in.

"go easy on Collin, he couldn't have a expected someone like Mauri to return."

I think to myself.

"they are already talking about this like Mauri really has returned."

a Dwarf King named Gremtill asks.

"so how are we going to deal with Mauri, isn't she supposed ro be the human's problems?"

"we are part of the alliance so every threat is dealt with all of us together."

I sigh and think to myself.

"maybe I should just accept that Mauri actually returned."

an Elf King with dirty blonde spiky hair, and light blue eyes says.

"this whole alliance is a joke and waste of time, because everyone will just get dragged into a conflict when they don't need to be."

I point at him and ask.

"excuse me, who are you and what are you doing here?"

he scoffs at me.

"how dare you not know who I am?"

"well that's why I'm asking because I don't know who you are."

I hear Queen Reina giggle, but he points at her and shouts.

"shut up!

he looks at me and says.

"I am King Relstan Polium."

I roll my eyes and think to myself.

"I should have known that it was him."

I then say in a dismissive tone.

"alright then you are free to go, this meeting is for

kingdoms who are the alliance."

he stammers and responds surprised about what I said.

"let's not be too hasty here, I can still be convinced that this alliance cam benefit my kingdom."

an older Elf fellow steps up from behind him and say in an apologetic manner.

"I apologize Mr Belfaust, for my son's big mouth, I assure you that our kingdom is very much interested in staying part of the alliance."

I reply.

"alright, that's what I thought."

I point at King Relstan.

"now if you don't have anything important to contribute to this meeting, then how about you to stay quiet and listen to the solutions that the other members have to offer."

he growls.

"you dare disrespect a King?"

I purposely ignore the question and respond.

"still nothing to add? if the answer is still nonthen shut up."

as Queen Reina giggles, I think to myself.

"she must really enjoy seeing him getting made look like a fool of."

I then look around and notice that the King of Mons is not present, and I ask.

"is King Furential running late or something?"

they all look around, like they didn't even realize that he wasn't around, King Ryan replies.

"maybe he is running a little late, don't worry too much about it."

King Dave clears his throat, so that he can get everyone's attention, and says.

"I may have an idea, but it's a bit risky."

Ying asks.

"what is it, your highness."

he answers.

"how about we setup a trap for her here and then either you or Collin put the mana blocking shackles on her when you get close enough to her."

I shake my head.

"we would have to wear down first before we can ever get close enough to do that."

I then think to myself.

"maybe we should ask Leonard, since he knows her so well."

I look around and notice that he isn't here, I then ask.

"hey where is Leonard?"

he answers.

"he doesn't want to get involved since it hits to close to home."

I reply.

"I don't care, we need him here now."

King Dave asks.

"what do you expect? should we force him down here?"

I nod and respond.

"yeah, and make sure he knows, that I will personally drag his sorry over here, if he doesn't come along with the magic knight you sent."

he points at random magic knight and says.

"you heard the man, go and get Mr. Leonard over here."

he nods rapidly.

"yes, your highness."

as the magic knight leaves to go get Leonard, a portal suddenly appears in the middle of the throne room, and then King Dave sighs in relief.

"it looks like King Furential has finally arrived."

but King Furential didn't appear out of the portal, instead Master Valtak who is accompanied by the young assasin, whose life I spared many years ago, when I was being hunted, come out of the portal, I walk up to him and shake his hand.

"Master Valtak it's a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e seeing you again."

he smiles.

"Collin Belfaust, the p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e is all mine."

his tone of voice changes to a more serious one.

"but I didn't drop by to say hello, I've come to deliver an urgent message to the alliance from King Furential."

King Dave asks.

"what is it?"

he replies.

"a woman claiming to be Mauri has shown up at Mons with a massive army of Orcs, and she wants every member to join her and King Furential to negotiate some kind of deal to coexist."

I scoff.

"if she really wanted that then she wouldn't have shown up at Mons with an army of Orcs."

he replies.

"it's not just orcs, she also has these weird giant creatures around that seem to cause some sort of weird disruption to mana around them."

I groan

"you've got to be shitting me, there is still more of them?"

I look to King Dave and ask.

"so what are you thinking?"

he looks at the other members of the alliance and answers.

"give us a moment to talk about this, before we decide anything."

I shake my head in disapproval and think to myself.

"are they really going to consider making a deal with someone as crazy and psychotic as Mauri?"

Master Valtak notices that I don't like this puts and his hand on my shoulder.

"I know it doesn't sound ideal, but we should hear her out and see exactly what she wants."

as they continue to discuss, the magic knight King Dave sent, came back with Leonard, I approach him and say unapologetically.

"I'm not going to say sorry, because we are really going to need you."

he sighs and slightly pushes up his glasses using his index finger.

"look me and Mauri weren't that close, so even if I wanted to help, I don't know how I'll be much use."

I reply while putting my hand on his shoulder.

"it doesn't matter, any information you can give me will be of great help.

he replies.

"okay fine, and besides I still owe you for not telling you about the existence of those creatures."

even though I forgot about that, I grin and play it of like if I remembered all along.

"yeah, and since you owe me, you won't let me down right?"

he stammers while adjusting his glasses.

"I'll do my best not to let tou down."

King Dave and the others finally disperse and after they take their seats, he makes an announcement.

"we are going to Mons, and see what kind of deal Mauri is looking for."

I think to myself with disappointment.

"I don't like this at all, whatever deal she wants can't be good."

he then says.

"we will all depart now."

he asks the assassin that brought in Master Valtak.

"go ahead and open a portal to Mons."

Leonard tries to use this to leave.

"oh well it looks like we are not fighting Mauri, so my services are no longer required."

I grab his shirt as he walks away and say.

"oh no you don't, you are coming along with us."

after all the kings and their guards step into the portal, I drag Leonard through the portal with me, and we find ourselves in King Furential's throne room, where we see him seating down at a round table with Mauri, Cecile and two others that I've never seen before, Mauri points at the seats and asks.

"shall we begin?"
