Chapter 178 - The Fiend Named Damien

Mauri stands up once again from the chair and walks around talking with the same sinister and masculine voice.

"I am a demon known as The Fiend amongst other demons and I came to your world crossing dimensions from my world, Hell."

I shake my head in disbelief.

"there is no way a place called Hell can exist."

I then take a moment to properly think about everything I've been through when I was reborn into this world and ask myself.

"if there is a Hell, does that mean Heaven exists?"

I then remember about the religions back on Earth that had tales about god and the devil, and say to myself feeling helpless, like a lost child.

"this can't be happening."

Leonard who has been hiding behind me and has been quiet as a mouse hoping that Mauri wouldn't recognize him, whispers to me.

"I knew it couldn't have been Mauri, it was something evil controlling her."

Mauri continues.

"it all happened when Mauri was betrayed by her kingdom and the alliance when the purging of both human and elves began, it was after that when she found her husband an Elf and her daughter who was half Elf and half Human, brutally murdered in the front of their house."

I whisper to Leonard.

"is this true?"

he nods and doesn't say a word, but that was enough to make me sick to my stomach, even though I was aware of genocides in the past, I wasn't aware of the Royal leaders approving of something so horrible, I then empathize with her while thinking about Ellena and Hope.

"tell me more."

King Dave who was shocked with my response, replies to her.

"we don't need to hear anymore of this."

but Mauri insists.

"but the dog wants to hear more of Mauri's tragic story, about the kingdom she swore to protect from all of it's threats, only to end up getting betrayed by it."

she continues.

"where was I? oh yeah, she went crazy and killed a couple of people, and after fighting Arthur, she ran away because she became a wanted person, and running was the only thing in her mind until she met one of her old pupils named Helos who told her the king of that time ordered him and three of her other pupils to kill her family."

nothing my reaction to what she is saying, King Dave snaps at Mauri.

"that's enough! we don't need to hear any more!"

"tell me Mr. dog, shall I listen to your owner and stop, or do you want to hear more?"

King Dave answers.

"don't say anything Collin, let's just get this deal over with."

feeling conflicted, I ask myself.

"are they really just going to accept this deal she is offering?"

I reply aiming at King Dave and the rest of the alliance.

"this is complete bullshit."

I then address Mauri as Damien.

"so tell me Damien, how did Mauri find you?"

"she went off course and ended up in the Northern Tundra, where she and a fellow traveler found an old place where I was sealed by the race of people who were around before all the current races."

I ask.

"let me guess, you f.o.r.c.i.b.l.y took control over her?"

Mauri answers.

"no I didn't have to, all I did was offer my strength, so that she could fulfill her revenge and in return, her body will belong to me."

I ask angrily.

"so you took advantage when she was grieving and made her do all those bad things?"

Mauri gives me a sinister, but this time she doesn't hide that she is Damien right now.

"I didn't have to, once she saw how her power kept increasing with each person she ate, she kept going without having me influencing her decisions."

"you know, I have sympathy towards Mauri, for what she went through, but right now it seems I'm not talking to her."

Damien interrupts.

"so? are you going something about it?"

I stare right into Damien's milky white eyes and say with a determined voice.

"I don't believe your Demon King fantasy, you are an evil entity, that shouldn't be allowed to live or coexist with us."

Damien replies with a amused tone.

"oh, what you just said, almost sent shivers down my spine."

but then Damien's voice gets serious.

"you and I both know you are not going to do a damn thing, because of what I did to you when you tried to fight me."

"what you are going to do, is let your owner agree to our deal, and you will do nothing because you can't."

Damien them asks the alliance.

"so will you leave me and my followers in peace so that I can increase my strength to face off the Demon King or will you go against me and risk an all out war with the Orcs?"

I think to myself.

"Damien must have gained influence over the Orc government."

King Relstan Polium, clears his throat and says so that everyone can hear him.

"well I'm all for this deal."

I snarl at him.

"Relstan you stupid bastard."

"we are also in favor of this deal."

except for Queen Reina who says.

"Collin is right we can't trust the demon, Damien, so I'm not in favor of this deal."

I sigh in relief.

"at least I'm not alone in this."

the Dwarf Kings all rule in favor of the deal.

"we agree to the terms of the deal."

as a sinking feeling in my stomach sets in, I think to myself.

"I can't believe they are willing to let Damien kidnap people just to gain strength with no proof that this Demon King exists."

then finally the human kings do exactly what I dreading.

"we accept the deal that Damien has offered."

King Dave sees my disappointed face and says.

"sorry Collin, but this is better than having an all out war with the Orcs."

Damien chuckles.

"good now that we all understand each other, I will be taking my leave."

Damien stops in front of Leonard and says with Mauri's voice.

"nice seeing you again, my old friend."

Leonard replies.

"you and me are not friends."

Damien responds.

"I'm more like Mauri than you think since I have all of her memories."

Leonard shakes his head.

"you are still not her."

Damien smiles.

"well it doesn't matter what you think, because I have big things in store for you."

as Damien leaves with Cecile, the others and the Orcs, I walk to the center where they can all see me and shout at all of them.

"cowards! all of you!"

I continue shouting in a disgusted voice.

"the blood of the innocent, will be in your hands! because you refused to fight against a monster like that!"

I then walk up to King Dave and say with anger.

"you and your royal family in the past ordered the genocide of elves, and that shit makes me sick to

my stomach."

he silently stares at me unable to come up with a response, while I continue shouting.

"you know the nobility promotion you gave me? you can take that it and shove it!"

King Dave responds with a genuinely hurt voice.

"I'm sorry."

I scoff.

"sorry is not going to fix this!"

after storming out of the throne room, Leonard stops me and asks.

"so what now?"

I respond.

"I need to get my family and leave Rozlania right away."

Leonard replies.

"alright I'm coming with you."

I ask.

"why? did you have something in mind?"

he nods.

"yeah you might not like the idea, but it's the only choice we got."

I ask.

"what is it?"

he answers.

"we ask the Dragonoids for help."
