Chapter 187 - Gift of The Dragons

After a few weeks of me working on my weaknesses, and finally developing a strong fortitude emotionally and mentally, I ask Lady Mengshee a question I've been dying for her to answer.

"what is this gift of the Dragons? and how does it work on us humans?"

she answers.

"I have the power to transform any living being into Dragonoids."

shocked by this revelation, I ask.

"so Dragonoids didn't evolve naturally?"

she shakes here head and starts to talk.

"before the first humans that Leonard calls Pre-Cursors, Dragons completely ruled this world, and out of the whole bunch only two highly intelligent Dragons evolved into Divine beings."

Rosie makes an assumption and asks.

"so you and another Dragon were the beings that became divine."

Lady Mengshee nods.

"yeah, he had the power to control life, while I had the power to control death."

"so is the one who controls this power still around?"

she shakes her head.

"no, he is no longer around."

Rosie asks curiously.

"what happened to him."

she answers with a heavy tone.

"I killed him."

I respond.

"I'm sure you had a reason."

"yeah I did."

she pauses and takes a moment to herself, to recall the events.

"he was responsible for the creation of the first humans, and he seemed satisfied on how they turned out."

she pauses and says in a disgusted tone

"but after hundreds of years passed by, he grew tired of them and started giving some of them, what he called the gift of the Dragons and the humans turned into the first Dragonoids."

I respond.

"it doesn't sound so bad."

she replies with the same disgusted tone.

"yeah it wouldn't have been bad, but he created them to completely wipe out the humans who worshipped him."

"but aren't you a divine being who controls the power death?"

she nods.

"yeah, but I didn't take joy in taking lives, unlike him who had a sick twisted p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e in causing death with his creations."

I ask.

"so you stepped in and killed him?"

she responds.

"yeah, it was a battle the almost destroyed the whole world."

she then continues.

"in the aftermath of the battle, I absorbed his powers of controlling life and helped the Dragonoids and The First Humans rebuild and ever since then I've limited my interactions with them."

"that was until I met Leonard, who discovered my cave of seclusion when he was searching for First Human artifacts."

I grin and ask.

"so you fell head over heels for him? but aren't divine beings forbidden from doing things like falling in love with mortal beings?"

she answers.

"I may be a divine being, but doesn't make me a god or goddess, it was just a label that was given to us by everyone who witnessed the destructive power that we possessed."

she pauses and responds with a more shy demeanor.

"I can't help what kind of feelings that emerge from within my heart."

Rosie scolds me.

"have some tact Collin, she is still a woman that has emotions."

"I wasn't implying that, but alright I get it."

I then I shift out attention back to important subject by asking Lady Mengshee.

"I this gift of the Dragons? will it turn me and Rosie into Dragonoids?"

she shakes her head.

"no since the two of you have tainted blood within you, your bodies will reject some of the gifts."

I think to myself relieved.

"well I'm not exactly enthusiastic in becoming a Dragonoid."

I look at Rosie and ask Lady Mengshee.

"what about her? she is no longer a vampire."

"she may have been cured from the genetic mutation of the vampires curse, but she still carries the abilities that came with it."

Rosie replies like it makes sense.

"now I understand why me and a couple others like me were able to escape the prison labour camps."

I ask Rosie.

"what do you mean, you and others?"

she lowers her head and replies timidly.

"I'm ready to talk about it with you yet."

even though I probably have some idea what she had to do some unspeakable things, so that she can escape from the prison labour camp, I reply feeling hurt that she can't open up to me about what happened.

"I understand."

I hide my true emotions with a smile, hoping that she doesn't catch on how I hurt I feel and respond, avoiding any eye contact.

"whenever you are ready to talk about it, I'll be here."

she looks at me with sad puppy dog eyes and says.

"please don't hate me."

I reply not trying to hide anything, with a sad tone in my voice,

"I don't hate you, I'm just hurt that you feel like you can't talk to me about it."

she reaches out softly with her hand, almost like she was about to say something, but then she retracts her hand and replies.

"I'm sorry."

I sigh and scold myself in my own thoughts.

"stop acting like a child Collin, don't take it personally, she probably is still finding a way to deal with it herself, before talking to you about it."

I then turn attention back to Lady Mengshee and ask.

"so what kind of gifts will we reject?"

she answers.

"besides changing into Dragonoids, the ability to transform into a full grown Dragon like the ones you see flying around in the wild."

I click my tongue.

"damn, it would have been cool, if I can transform into a Dragon."

I ask.

"what else?"

she replies.

"Dragon's Cry."

Rosie asks.

"what does that do?"

she responds.

"the ability to call for help from Dragons."

I ask.

"what do we gain then?"

she replies.

"both of you will be able to grow Dragon wings."

Rosie responds.

"but I already have wings."

Lady Mengshee laughs.

"those vampire wings you have are far inferior to Dragon wings."

she then continues.

"you will feel you physical strength increase significantly."

I ask.

"but didn't we already do that in this cave?"

she answers.

"yeah but that was just so that your bodies can accept my gift without killing you."

she then continues.

"and finally, you will have the projectile spell, Dragon's flame breath."

I then ask one final question.

"if we accept, do we stand a chance against Damien?"

she nods.

"yes, I believe so."

I clap my hands together hard and shout.

"okay then, I'm ready!"

Rosie does the same.

"yeah!"

Lady Mengshee smiles.

"alright."

she places her hands on our forehead and chants in the Dragonoid's language, that causes a blinding white light to engulf both me and Rosie completely, and then seconds later it disappeared as quickly as it appeared, Lady Mengshee then says.

"now before you leave to fight Damien, you should get ready to your friends under control since they are about to unlock their next werewolf powers."

I nod and say.

"thank you Lady Mengshee for everything."

she smiles.

"just make sure you beat Damien."
