Mo Lingtan and Xia Reng entered inside the house and instantly their nostrils were filled with a bitter smell. 

Xia Reng immediately put hands on his nose and Mo Lingtan's expression turned ugly seeing the sight in front of him.

Lee Xuiye was drinking the medicine from which this pungent, like smell, was coming and her situation didn't look good. She looked like she would throw up but he knew that she wouldn't. After all, he understood her stubbornness. 

Like he expected she finished drinking a bowl of medicine without throwing up. Aunty Ni immediately took the bowl away and sprayed the room with air freshener to chase away this kind of pungent smell.

However, it seemed like their nostrils would have to get to use to this pungent, like smell soon as Lee Xuiye had to drink this kind of medicine every day.

Lee Xuiye was determined not to throw up that she didn't notice her husband was back home until she heard Aunty Ni's voice.

"Master…"

"Aunty Ni, take this bag to the guest room." Mo Lingtan passed Xia Reng's bag to Aunty Ni.

Lee Xuiye saw Mo Lingtan's ugly and angry expression and she knew why he looked like that. Nevertheless, he wouldn't say a word for at least three months so she wouldn't bother with him.

However, her sight went on the little guest who stood beside Mo Lingtan. This little guy looked like someone she knew but she couldn't put her finger as to whom he looked like.

Xia Reng saw that Lee Xuiye was looking at him intensely so he forced a smile on his face and greeted her like Yue Wanwan taught him. "Hello, Mother."

Mother?

Did this little guy call her 'Mother'?

It sounded strange.

As some kind of weird feeling sank into her heart. However…

Why was this boy calling her 'Mother'?

Did Mo Lingtan adopt a child without her knowledge?

Did they not agree to wait for three months before considering anything about the adoption of a child?

Even Mo Lingtan was startled hearing 'Mother' coming from Xia Reng. It seemed that Yue Wanwan had trained him well.

However, both Mo Lingtan and Xia Reng didn't know that Xia Reng's calling Lee Xuiye as Mother would trigger her sour point and she instantly became angry.

"Who is he? Why is he calling me mother? Don't tell me you adopted a child. You promised me to wait, you can't do this. I don't want this child!" Lee Xuiye angrily shouted at Mo Lingtan.

But then she realized she shouldn't have said the last line.

Indeed, Xia Reng had been hurt after hearing Lee Xuiye didn't want him. Since his birth, he only had his mother, Xia Xiulan, who had hidden him outside this country and she rarely came to meet him. 

There was the only caretaker who looked after him.

He also thought that once he would grow up, he would go and meet his mother every day and see who had dared to harm him and his mother.

However, that wish of his couldn't be fulfilled anymore as his mother wasn't in this world anymore. She left him alone and didn't give him a chance to protect her.

Then Yue Wanwan came into his life, she always stayed with him and took care of him instead of caretaker. Although she wasn't his biological mother, she did take good care of him and as a child how could he not be attached to her?

Unfortunately, she couldn't be with him also. She was going to die soon but she assured him that his new mother would definitely be with him in his whole life and take good care of him.

However, this didn't seem to be the case as his new mother already made it clear that she didn't want him.

Xia Reng immediately took a few steps back while his eyes had tears but he didn't want to show his tears as he had already caused so much trouble for his biological mother, Xia Xiulan and now he understood that he had to be sensible to not to cause any problems for anyone, he hung his head.

If his new mother didn't want him then he would leave. He wouldn't cause any more problems for anyone.

Mo Lingtan somehow understood Xia Reng's feelings as his parents didn't stay at home, but he was lucky enough that he had his grandparents. Moreover, anyone would get hurt hearing those words from Lee Xuiye, especially when a child was informed that this lady was going to be his mother.

Mo Lingtan put a hand on Xia Reng's back to stop him as he knew that Xia Reng wanted to run away from here. 

Lee Xuiye was feeling awkward for what she had said but she was vulnerable since she knew that she could be childless and she was having a hard time accepting this fact.

Perhaps...seeing Xia Reng in front of her as an adopted child, Lee Xuiye again realized her fault.

Now she didn't know what to say seeing him cry like that, then she heard Mo Lingtan. "He is Xia Xiulan's son and from now onwards, he will be our son."
