Qian Meng laughed. "Uncle Bai, you really put careful thoughts into your gifts," she said.
Bai Yu shrugged. "What is a little forethought? As long as you two are happy," he said.
Yes. As long as both of them were happy. What a good thought.
And so, when they came back to their house that day, Mo Qingchen spoke up. "Let's get married tomorrow," he said.
Qian Meng blinked. "Tomorrow? So soon? What about the flight preparations?" she asked in a minor state of panic.
Mo Qingchen shrugged. "I'll take care of everything. Just tell me when and how you want to go and I will take care of it. Let's get married tomorrow." She looked at the expression on his face and couldn't help but nod in agreement.
"Okay. Let's get married tomorrow," she said with finality. Tonight would be her last day as an unmarried woman. Whatever should she do with herself? "I suppose I will move to the guest bedroom for the night. We can't see each other before the wedding!" she teased.
Mo Qingchen frowned. "There is no white dress or walking down the aisle involved. And if it was bad luck, I would just overturn it somehow."
"What about my purity?" Qian Meng blinked innocently.
"Didn't you say you were ruined already? Just sleep in this bed. And stop pretending. No one will believe you any longer."
Qian Meng giggled. "I still haven't forgiven you for biting me!" she said when she remembered what he had done in the parking lot.
Mo Qingchen rolled his eyes. "I'll do it again when you act stupid," he said without a hint of amusement.
Her eyes widened. "When did I act stupid? You're just making up things now," she groaned.
"You're almost always acting stupid," he retorted.
"Excuse me, sir. Are you sure you want to sleep in the same bed as me? I could very well sleep in the guest bedroom," she threatened.
"I was sure you were going to throw me out of the bedroom with my pillow but you really are magnanimous," he claimed.
Qian Meng frowned. "There you go again. I am not magnanimous. I just…" 'Don't think this room belongs to me as much as it belongs to you.'
She couldn't say this out loud. But Mo Qingchen seemed to have understood. The doubt slowly crept into her face.
His eyes hardened and that dreaded word slipped out of his lips again. "Stupid."
At this rate, it was unknown when her lips would heal.
"Mo Qingchen, I am not getting married to you tomorrow!" she fussed. He hummed and let her rage for a few minutes. But a few cubes of ice and a good night's sleep later, her lips came out unscathed.
And therefore, the marriage would progress as planned.

Qian Meng looked at herself in the front-facing camera and decided she looked good enough to attend her own wedding. She picked up her bag and walked out, only to find Li Min wringing her hands together nervously.
"Boss, have you taken all your documents?" she asked, her eyes moving over Yun Qian Meng and what she was wearing.
"Yes. Birth certificate. All photograph IDs. Bank passbooks and documents. I even have the family registration book with me." She smiled widely.
Li Min sighed. "Good luck, Boss. I'm panicking just thinking that you are getting married at such a young age." That too to a wolf. A nice wolf, but a wolf, nonetheless.
"You're just bothering yourself for no reason. Take the day off. I'll send you a picture of the red booklet once I have it in my hands, okay?" Qian Meng chirped. She was in an exceptionally good mood.
Qian Meng was headed over to Mo Qingchen's office. She was going to pick him up and then drive to the civil bureau's office to marry the man. Everyone around her seemed to think Qian Meng needed a lot of luck with this. Li Min and Li Jun had been worried about the family registry and wondered if Yun Sui Bo would allow Qian Meng to take it.
Qian Meng had been sure he would hinder the wedding, but her lovely younger brother, the cute little Yun Qing Yuan had sneaked out of home with the registry and handed it over to Qian Meng already.
What a champ.
There seemed to be no obstacles in this marriage. But something might still go wrong.
Qian Meng felt fuzzy in her stomach. It had never been that way for her. She just didn't have it in her to be warm and fuzzy. She was much better known for her devilish laughter and sharp wit.
She walked across the street and stood in front of the building. She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, centering herself. She wondered what the day would bring. One thing was for sure, she was getting married to Mo Qingchen and no one would stop her.
The inside of the building was quite nice. The walls had sleek waterfalls and cascading fountains. Bright and colorful flowerbeds enhanced the already stunning grounds. She was sure she even saw a butterfly smile at her when she entered the building.
Fascinating as it was, this was definitely not Mo Qingchen's style. Someone had made this technology company building into the wonderland of people with green fingers.
In the distance, the elevator opened and a group of corporate twenty-something-year-olds filed out chattering to one another. She patiently waited for them to fill out before she got in.
Mo Qingchen had told her the main reception area for his share of the companies. Yes, Mo Qingchen didn't rent out the whole building, just a bunch of floors.
When she exited the elevator and found her way to the office reception, she knocked on the door. She was warmly greeted by a tall, slender woman.
She looked at Qian Meng for a second. "Hi, I am Jia Shu, Human Resource Manager. You must be Xiulan, the new executive secretary. Thank you so much for coming on such short notice," she shook Qian Meng's hand vigorously.
