"Yes. It's going to be a rough few days, so I will deliver the food to you when I can. Xiong Hua will send someone for the rest of the time. At least I won't need to worry about your meals, then!" he huffed.
Qian Meng snickered. "It's a complete disaster. I am waiting for the first cycle of newspapers to come out. Moreover, once the country wakes up, it's going to be another storm."
He patted her head. "You'll overcome it. I have no doubt. When have you allowed something you set you back?" he asked softly.
"Damn right!" Qian Meng shouted, feeling enthusiastic all of a sudden. "Let me show you how a crisis is handled, Mr. Mo!"
Mo Qingchen shook his head in amusement. "You're not devastated, that's good. Yes, Mrs. Mo. Show me how it's done, okay?"
Qian Meng opened the box and her eyes became wide with wonder. "Are you feeding a small army or do you think I am a pig?" she questioned, turning to him with her hands on her waist.
"I would be disappointed if I was raising a pig all along. I didn't have breakfast, so I am going to eat with you," he said quickly.
Qian Meng quickly handed him the spoon. "There seems to be only one pair of cutleries." She frowned.
"I should reciprocate for all the times you fed me," he said without a hint of embarrassment. He scooted over to hear and spooned out some food and waved it in front of her face.
She opened her mouth wide, making a cartoonish moment out of it before chomping down. "Ah, I didn't realize I was this hungry until now," she moaned in pleasure.
There was nothing intense about the whole ordeal, she simply ate and looked over some documents. She also told him about what had happened. First, he would feed her and as she chewed and spoke, he would take a bite of the food himself. The whole thing worked out wonderfully.
Mo Qingchen was packing up the box when the call came in.
"Boss, Shi Yuhan isn't going to cooperate. We called her and left her messages multiple times but she refuses to revert," Xiong Fen rushed to say.
Qian Meng squeezed her eyes shut. "No need to use threatening language in this case. She will surely make a fuss out of it and splash it all over the news and internet. Just tell her that we want an open discussion about what happened. Lure her out to the company."
Mo Qingchen turned to her curiously.
"She doesn't seem to be interested in this," Xiong Fen replied. "I have already taken this route, but she is still resistant."
"There is a high chance that she is still asleep. If she doesn't respond by lunch today, send her a non-relevant segment from the CCTV we found. Take note from Ma Qui's outlook. We might need to be a little aggressive in this case."
Xiong Fen grew silent. "Boss, do you think it is wise?" she asked.
"I trust in your judgment, but Ma Qui is not completely wrong. Sometimes you need to be forceful to clean your reputation," she said sagely. "See if the approach works."
"And if she does the whole 'Venus tried to threaten me' routine?"
"Then she's stupid and we don't have to put too much effort into wondering what she is up to. We can follow Ma Qui's route and reveal what happened in her case. Let's see what the whole scene is. I will talk to you post-lunch about how we will handle the scenarios, okay?" Qian Meng said finally.
She sighed after hanging the phone up.
"Do you need to hack into someone's account and post an apology on their behalf?" Mo Qingchen offered from beside her.
Qian Meng startled. "What? You are going to hack in and make my problems go away? My hacker in a white suit?" she teased.
"It's a piece of cake. The password is going to be something stupid, too. I watched a few of her videos before deciding that her voice is irritating and her IQ is in single digits," Mo Qingchen commented ruthlessly.
"You have to admit, she has an innocent-looking face, though," Qian Meng shrugged. "No wonder people want to trust her. A pitiful little girl standing up against a big corporation…" she trailed off.
"It's actually the pitiful ones that are scary!" Mo Qingchen said lightly. "Look at you, you are a vixen when you look pitiful. It's all an act."
Qian Meng chuckled. "Are you here to check on me or criticize me? Don't you have work? Go!" she threatened.
He was pushed out of the office, his eyes filled with amusement.
"I'll ask for updates sometimes. Don't get irritated with me," Mo Qingchen warned.
"You'll forget with all the work on your plate. Now, go!" she rushed.
He waved her one last time before walking down the corridor. The employees who had come in to work on Saturday scrambled out of their offices to greet him.
It seemed that the wedding candy really helped improve everyone's opinion of Mo Qingchen.
Despite her worries, Qian Meng had a skip in her step for a few hours. This was until lunch passed and Xiong Fen rushed into the office.
"What did she do?" Qian Meng groaned.
"She didn't even let me send me the little clip. She really woke up for lunch and saw my messages." She turned her phone to Qian Meng.
"Is that a screenshot of the messages you sent?" Qian Meng asked.
Xiong Fen nodded.
Qian Meng read through the messages and saw nothing threatening. The post Shi Yuhan made went something like this:
[A certain high-ranking employee from Venus used unscrupulous methods to find my number. I also want to know why they are using this technique to threaten me. Want to talk to me? In your dreams. I have done nothing wrong. Until your employees apologize to me for their behavior, I don't have a word to say to you!]
