Qingchen furrowed his brow. "I am not letting that old rat come to my wedding," he said firmly. "He doesn't like our marriage, anyway. Why should we let him celebrate with us? I can assure you that wasting food and lodging on him will be a regret you will carry for the rest of your life."
"Don't be so dramatic!" Qian Meng exclaimed. "You're going to call your whole family but not your father? It's going to be on camera, Qingchen."
He shrugged once again. "This is my way of telling you that you shouldn't call your stepmother and father to the wedding either. I know you don't want to."
She pressed her lips together.
"If they are against our marriage, they are not invited. Simple. Invite your brother and he will represent your family. Isn't that great?" he said softly.
He knew that she had been thinking of the same thing. It just so happened that he hated his father and didn't want him to come to the wedding either.
"Are you making a deal with me? No toxic people are allowed in our wedding?" she asked.
Qingchen nodded enthusiastically. "But let's make sure they know for certain that they weren't invited," he commented slyly.
"You're crazy."
"Do you want me to go when you send the invitation card?" he asked.
She shook her head. "I'll visit Qing Yuan at the main house. You should continue with work." She patted his head.
He nodded and watched as she picked up all her things and shoved them in her bag.
"I'll see you at night!" he called after her affectionately.
Qian Meng looked back, just as she opened the door to go out. A wide grin crawled up her lips. "Love you, too."
The people outside definitely heard. Especially the new secretary who looked like she had swallowed a fly. Qian Meng wondered for a second if she had a crush on Qingchen.
Her husband was incredible. It wouldn't be a stretch to think that was the case. She shrugged off the idea, knowing her husband didn't even look at people twice.
Little did Qian Meng know, this secretary of Mo Qingchen's had a crush on her! She gritted her teeth whenever she saw how affectionate the couple were in Qingchen's office.
It had become a regular occurrence in the last month or so. These two were inseparable.
With Qian Meng came Li Min. The woman watched the new tube light with amusement. Finally, as she watched Qian Meng leave, Li Min spoke up.
"No need to think about Boss. She has tunnel vision when it comes to Mr. Mo. Give up." As she was about to leave, she stopped and added another sentence. "How about we grab dinner this weekend? You can think about me, instead."
The new secretary gaped as she watched Li Min leave. In this conservative world, rarely did women ask other women out so casually.
It was kind of cool.
Well, even if to pry information about Qian Meng, this little fly could eat a meal or two with Li Min.

As Qian Meng pulled into the driveway, she saw the employees stop working and turn to look at her car. Though hers had been changed, the exterior remained the same. They obviously knew who had come.
It had been three months since she had step foot inside this house and she expected that her father had created a lot of drama and screamed her name multiple times for the employees to be on edge to this degree. She sighed as she pulled out her bag and the invitation card for Qing Yuan.
As she slid out and walked towards the house, a snake slithered out from one of the bushes and stopped a few meters from Qian Meng's feet.
Her breath hitched as she stared at the creature. She dared not make a sound. The employees too stiffened. Everyone seemed to freeze for a moment before they started to get into action.
In reality, the snake wasn't that big. But the fact that it was roaming around the estate unhindered was the source of concern.
"What the hell… I knew my dad was feeding the human snakes, he is raising real snakes too?" she muttered under her breath when the snake slithered away, giving her leeway to sprint into the house.
"Or is the universe warning me that I am walking into a pit of snakes?" she countered.
She shook her head in disbelief and stepped into the house.
An employee scurried past her and into the living room, presumably to inform the older couple about her arrival. They were not the sort to enjoy unhappy surprises.
When she entered, she found two pairs of dissatisfied eyes already on her.
"I never thought I would see you in my house again," Yun Sui Bo commented disdainfully as he took in her appearance.
Qian Meng shrugged. "I am a married woman now. Even if you thought your unmarried daughter was destined to follow every word you said, you already sold your daughter away. There is no need to show off your power anymore, right?" she commented snidely.
His nostrils flared. "Sold you off? Can you not be so vulgar?" he sneered.
Qian Meng smiled sweetly. "Sorry, you tried to sell me off. But didn't succeed. But I don't answer to you any longer, Mr. Yun." That was the main point in this conversation.
His breath rushed out in what Qian Meng assumed was anger.
"Meng Meng, please understand. Your father was just worried about you!" the stepmother chimed in helpfully.
Qian Meng couldn't help but roll her eyes. Thank god, it was a small reaction, or else, her father would have chewed her head off. She was in a good mood and didn't want this toxic pair to burst her bubble.
"Is that so? Why were you worried, might I ask?" she supplied helpfully. She didn't glance towards Jiang Xin, knowing she would not take the cue and answer anyway.
