I gathered all the physical energy I could muster to stay standing. Riku and Mia Started firing at the laser team. a few Krogan stepped forward erecting a barrier.Their shots couldn't get past the barrier they threw up. Agria continued to pour energy into a barrier she placed as the one I had started to fade. All I could do was condense it, as the laser fire pushed me back.

Her barrier will not last. She is not designed for barriers. Sisters of Battle are fighters and vanguards, not shield generators. 'This won't work I can see her straining with this.' Gritting my teeth, I took a deep breath. 'Decision time.'
"Agria get them in that door now! They can't breach those shields especially in their condition!" I yelled over my shoulder.
"Kachak" a bright light travelled towards me. I was able to see the light but couldn't react.
The sound of sniper fire tore a hole through my shield and Agria's. It tagged me in the shoulder Punching a hole in my armor.

"Gasp," I took a strong breath. From the shot, I almost lost my footing. I brace myself to get ready for the next hit. It was gonna hurt even more so if the same location was punctured.
"We can't leave you here against that! They have a damn laser! A ship laser at that! You are outnumbered you, idiot." Riku screamed.
"Agria get them through that door now!" I bellowed.
"Do forgive me. But it is his orders." Agria said as she knocked Riku out lifting Mia with her other arm. They dashed into the door.
"Kachak" The sound of another sniper fire tore a hole through my shield much easier without Agria's aid to help bolster it. It was to easy. I now had a hole where my shoulder used to be. The hole was about the size of a softball.

"Pft," I spit out some blood onto the floor. "Alright Sophia, Lunabella you two are next to go!"
"As you say, Master. We will wait for you on the other side." Sophia said. The grim look on her face did not make me feel confident. Not in the least.
"Tsh" The door close behind them slowly.
"Yeah, not gonna make it. I take it this would be a fine ho ra." I knew the door was gonna close. I said this all to no one in particular. My voice brought me comfort. Then the whisper came in.
'Fight! Kill them! Slaughter them!' Ignoring the voices I focused more.
"You Vorcha, get in there and dig him out. Bring me his corpse if he's dead. The rest of you get that drill ready." The Krogan war leader bellowed.
Waves of resentment flowed off the vorcha onto the surroundings. Fear, despair, and utter hatred.
'I could use this to my advantage.' Thinking to myself I focused on a Vorcha. My physic powers should be strong enough to get through.
'Hey, you!' I sent to it when it was close. Pierced right through its meager defenses.
"Ekk, who said that?" The Vorcha said looking around.
"Quite slacking off. Another mess up and they will kill the rest of the colony." Another vorcha said.
"Right, right." The Vorcha said moving about. "I must be going crazy."
"No, you aren't going crazy I am talking to you through mass effect transmission. If you can get your fellow Vorcha to help me buy time. I will take care of those Krogan for you." I project as much sincerity and trust I could.

A thread of biotic energy floated back to me. From what I could tell. He/She agreed.
I use the remaining time to rest and meditate.
A few minutes later as a Vorcha reached me. It dropped a medigel onto me. With enough healing from that and the energy I restored through meditation, it was enough.
"Brace yourselves!" I told the Vorcha hopefully the Krogan didn't hear this.
Several biotic barriers went up.
I slowly wrapped my energy around the rocks and flung the rocks towards the Krogan laser.
"Ding, ding, ding." The final shard hit something good.
"Bzzt., " Electrical sparks started to gather around it.
"What the hell?" A Krogan by the machine said startled. "The readings are skyrocketing. Damn it! It's not shutting down."
Standing up I coaxed it with my energy. Not caring about what will happen. I hoped for the best. Standing up looking for any weapons or something to use. Not getting to far with the rocks keeping me in place still. I was spotted.
"There he is, get him!" Another Krogan yelled.
Before they could make do on that an electrical charge flared up.
"Boom!" The laser exploded lighting some of the Krogan on fire.
I felt a hand lift me from the debris. I was now faced to face with a Vorcha.
"Holyshit your tall." I said with a smile." Reaching for my pistol I realized it was gone.'Damit Riku has it. Guess Melee it is.' Activating my Biotics I charged in.
"Bury me under rocks huh. Shoot me with a fucking laser. I am gonna kill you filthy lizards." I yelled as I tore into them.
Gunfire started to pour from behind me. The Vorcha didn't let this chance slip by.
One Vorcha had pulled out a heavy pistol. Each shot was accurate. This Vorcha took care of any of the Krogan who got close to the others.
"Chup, chup, " the shots landed in the Krogan's knee cap to my left.
Round after round tore into the remaining Krogan causing them to fall back.
Next thing I know, I felt a tap on my shoulders. This drew me from stabbing into the Krogan I was mounted on.
"Yeah what is it?" I asked. The Vorcha pointed to the door that opened just a bit. "Don't shoot! The Vorcha are on our side."
I managed to say this just in time as Riku ran out kicking me in the gut.
"Never do that again asshole," Riku said somewhat red-eyed.
"Right no promises. How the hell are you moving again? Aren't you injured?" I asked surprised that she kick me that hard in her condition. Staring at her standing upright I couldn't believe my eyes.
"We found all kinds of stuff inside. I am all patched up, and ready to go." Riku beamed at me smiling.
"Sweet. How about getting me patched up as well. Someone kicked me in the gut. It hurts something fierce." I said this while getting up. The kick really hurt actually. I was not joking.
"Yeah, yeah sure. What about these Vorcha. What to do with them?" Riku asked. Her biotics were already flared up and ready to go.
"They helped. I will not screw them over. Oi Vorcha with us. There has to be a way out of here." Calling them over my mind started to fog up again.
"Crrkkk crk " The vorcha leader I would assume turned to the others. With a clicking of noise in his/her throat, the others fell in behind.
Agria came over and lifted me up. Not a shoulder carry or helping me walk. She grabbed me like I was groceries and sprinted me inside.
"If I wasn't so hurt I would actually be upset," I said while looking at her. She just looked down at me with a smirk I assume.
Once inside I could see several pods lining the sides. There was a strange uniformity to them all. A few pods on the left-had more contractions added. The ones on the right were more jammed packed together.
"Shit... I hope these aren't what I think they are." Touching the nearest one I was proven right. "Fucking Protheans. Just great..." Seeing no one looking I moved over to some of them. 'Galtea can my inventory place them inside?'
Galtea: The dead ones yes. The live ones... no. However, you can take a few into yourself taking their data for later creation as an Overlord.
'Do it. Two pairs into the inventory. Also, two pairs to turn into mana.' Walking away after I felt a tingle I looked for whatever could be used to help heal me. Seeing Riku walking over looking at me weirdly. I had to pause for a moment. She looked at me staring at the pods weirdly.
"They are... complicated," I said trying to pick at her mind.
"Ok, let us get you medically treated. I have taken care of the Vorcha myself." Riku had an edge to her voice building up. Her biotics flared up again. Even though she tried to keep it under the radar.
I couldn't help wanting to get out of here soon. This place was making everything wonky. But why wasnt it affecting Agria and Mia? "Riku! Yell at me all you want later. For now, I need everyone in fighting shape."
Looking at me pouting she did. As she walked away her tail smacked in the stomach. Next Lunabella floated down. I had no idea when she had returned and attached an injector to my skin. A special medi-gel brought me up to full health in a matter of moments. Two minutes later I was fit as a fiddle. 30 minutes later and the Vorcha were good. My physiology along with my upgrades helped my recovery.
Sophia fixed my armor up for me. Piece by piece she removed the segments. While I was getting treated with the injector. Re-equipping it to me she was quite.. cross with me. Also disappointed, I was to be her Overlord in her mind. Right now I had the strength of a damn prinny. It was disgraceful. My abilities just read anger coming off of her.
"Ok tell me what is the problem now?" These conversations.. started to wear on me. Always explaining always compromising. Then the voices could be heard again in the back of mind.
'Kill them! They will betray you!' Grunting I dismissed the thoughts. "Hmph, spit it out." More anger in my voice than I wanted.
"Nothing my lord." Sophia had a slight smile creeping on her face.
"Just tell me."
"You know we die for you. You created us. We are at your disposal master." Sophia kept her head down and kept double checking with her omni-tool. She made sure everything worked to specs.
"I.. know. Just not at that point where I would just sacrifice my people. Even more so since it's my inadequacy that brought this about. If I was a better commander it would be better. We would not be here like this." I know it sounded like self-loathing but it was all I can think about. I was reminded again how easy it was in the game. If my time in the military in my real life taught me anything. I was that I was not the best. Far from it.
"You are young my Primarch," Agria said as she moved in from behind. She felt stronger and more of herself as she moved. "In time you grow in strength you just need more wars. Humans are counting you. As well as Xenos…. Tch are you giving up already?" Agria has an issue with some of her hypno conditioning. If it was not human it was an enemy. Unless it worked for humanity's interest. This an her oaths as a white mage contradicted.
"No! Dammit... Just give me a minute ok…" My hangups are bothering me. Stockpiling points, they are useless if I am dead. 'Galtea what points can I use on this mission?'
Galtea: You are currently in a safe zone. Nothing is preventing you from using your points. However, if you enter a story event or combat zone.... it will immediately end in a few moments of combat starting.
'Ok. Use my points to fix my mind. Also, use my pulls as well. I don't know what it is but I feel mentally weaker for some reason. Also, I keep second guessing myself.' It's gotten worse as the hours have passed.
Galtea: I will run a scan of your body and check the store for you. Processing please wait….
I started to meditate. That turned out to be a bad idea. My psyche was bombarded with the fears I felt earlier as well as the death screams of the Protheans in the pods. Their psycho echoes resonated in the place creating a psychic nexus.
Outside of my body raw physic energy cascaded around. My pyscho power had been lying in wait for the chance. All the energy was devoured in a moment by it. A thick physic barrier formed outside of me. Sophia stepped back amazed. She was instantly enthralled by the power. If it wasnt for the unique way she was made, it would have been disastrous for her future.
'So powerful. Please become stronger. Overlord's need all different kinds of strength. The mind is the most important.' Sophia walked away to help teach and treat the Vorcha. Agria was left there to guard Azul.
Riku was going through the weapons and cannibalizing them to suit her needs. As an Al-Bhed with Imperium training, it was a cinch. Mia just adjusted her rifle watching the Vorcha and the civilians. If any tried anything stupid she would kill them. No hesitation on her part.
Back within Azul's psyche.
All the different impressions that entered were ground away by the Soul Power/Psycho Power. The strands went slowly bolstering his mental powers.
'Hello me. So weak so fragile.. so pathetic.' My own voice played back to me. Jeering at me taunting me.
"So you are the reason for all of this .. why?" I had to ask I wanted to know. Before me was ... well me but eyes blazing red. Small fluctuations of white psyche energy rolled off.
'To end this stupidy. We could become whole again. All of the different fragments of our mind and emotions. The different us all fused into one. Instead of this.' The other me moved his hands around the area of my mind and soul. It was separated from my netherworld which I housed inside my self.
'You have resisted us. I have spent a long time talking to the others. We are not meant to be separated.' He looked at me. His eyes were full of cunning and anger. He despised me I could tell. 'Unlike you, we did not resist each other though. I am all that's left.'
"Tch. What is the blasted voice in my head and why am I so irritable?" Felt my strength build mentally. I was not getting weaker which I found odd.
'I am nor resisting you fool. I am giving myself willing. I am your cunning among other things. After me, there will be no pain in your head.' He smirked at me. 'We will bolster the mental abilities and make it whole. Purging the reaper influence.'
"What else are you. Tell me... I have to know. Wait did you say reaper influence?!"
'I am your cruelty.. that is what you will need to survive. You believe renegade is incorrect you are wrong. It is a path the same as any others. It is the reason they are turning on you slowly. But we can fix it. You know you can stop acting like a whelping already and do what needs to be done.'

On the outside, the physic shell disappeared. I reabsorbed and felt a lot better. My thinking had increased tenfold. Using that new strength I used Lv2 1251/3500 Mental Cleansing on everyone in the room.
Agria looked at me slightly apprehensive then it softened. With a nod, she moved about helping the others. With the new found understanding from the psychic echoes. I went to the Vorcha.
"Get into these pods over here. There is a way to fix your genetic abnormalities."
"What abnormalities?" He/she said to me. The rest of them followed suit behind in a semicircle.
"You are an older species. Infected by a disease designed by the Protheans to fight against its enemies. It is the reason you breed so fast and high in numbers. But your life expectancy is so low because of that as well. If one subjects can be kept in control in high numbers it would be easy to conquer. Your life is to short for you to become a threat. Your learning capabilities stunted. I can return them to you? Everything to you. What say you?" I couldn't lie to them. I told them exactly what I knew. The information made me hate the Protheans just a bit more.
For the next few minutes, they talked with each other. I could actually understand them now. The speech reminded me of Indian people. Such emphasis on certain words. They agreed. Mostly out of fear. Getting into the pods I used a few more points along with my mana to change them back. Since they willing gave in there As much as I could anyway. While I worked away ai it Riku came up.
"So.. what are you doing?" She seemed slightly apologetic but was trying to figure things out with herself. The same as the others.
"Fixing them," I said offhandedly. "Don't worry they will be fine soon. Back to what they originally were. By the way, get the colonists to open those pods marked red. Those Protheans in there are dead. Get the armor off them and bring over to the room on the left. The Vorcha that come out will need clothes. Armor will work better though for them. We are getting out of here soon."
"Ok... I will see what I can do." Riku said slightly miffed.
"Oh, Riku.. before I forget. Give me back my pistol, please. Have some of the civilians that can stomach it bring the corpses here." I handed over a plastic print that showed an incinerator of some sort for the Prothean disposal. "It is some kind of funeral right. I don't know. I didn't read it all the way."
"I will see to it." She said smiling.
'Guess she needed the bodies treated with respect. Ughh. Lunabella copy everything you can from these systems. This help with the digital world expansion on technology.' Working away at the controls I plotted a way out of here by shutting the life pods down. The energy was used for the rest of the facility needs now. Looking at the security system I found everyone else.
With no speakers to use I lit up a path for them to escape. If they take it they take If they don't... the Krogan would get to them. Shutting down all the passageways I could to slow them down. An hour later everything was done.
The Vorcha came out looking like human. Taller and skinnier than normal but food and nutrition would take care of that. The eyes were red and reminded the look of the vorchas. But everything else looked to be human to the T.
After the fitting of the armor on everyone, I locked everything else down. "Time to go."
"We are ready to go. What's the plan?" Agria asked.

"An elevator leads straight up back to the surface. Take the civilians and everyone else back up. Get to the ship if you can. Could be some resistance so the lot will go with you." I look over at Sophia shaking my head. "You will go with them as well. Your efforts and Riku's tech-savvy will be able to take care of any problems you might have with the doors." I returned Lunabelle back to my node. "This will have to do for myself and Mia."
"What else will we need to do topside?" Sophia wondered. "Come back down for the tech??"
"No. Contact exogeni. Tell them I have something to settl up on. Give them this." Handing over a quick file I worked on over to her. "This will get us a hefty sum.Tell them to send people to extract the remains."
"The remains?" Riku asked a little suprised.
"Yup remains." I looked to Mia and her unsure face.
"You will have me go with you?" Mia asked a little surprised.
"Yes. I would." Getting my rifle ready. I moved to the elevator on the far side. "You can keep the pace. Your stealth will be needed." Mia followed in. Sniper Rifle at the ready. It looked different than earlier. Right as the lift started to close a Vorcha walk in.
"I will travel with. Extra gun. I will not sslow you down." The voice came out a little warped. It would be a while before the language can be spoken perfectly by them. "You should not disscount help. I will keep the Hive safe."
"Very well then. Before I forget. None of you are allowed to die. See you topside." I waved to them as we started traveling up. Looking at the vorcha I couldn't make heads or tails still of its gender. "What is your name?"
"Of course. Shalla." The vorcha looked at me intuitively.
This was gonna be a hassle. Deciding against my better judgment I kept my mouth shut. I explain to them our job was to kill as many as the mercenaries we could. If we could extract the other team we would call this a win for us. As the lift stopped I accessed the feed in the hall. Showing the other two we made a quick plan togethor. I would blitz through, Mia will take out the ones further ahead, Shalla will take the middle picking up any stragglers.
"Schuup," the door opened. I ran through using Lv5 251 /370 Biotic Shielding, Lv1 55/150 Concussive, Shot, Lv3 61/100 Misty Fist. Focusing on the shield I used water vapors at the outside to move at a high speed like a saw. The streams were thin. Translucent and sharp. With the intense Biotic energy, it would cut through any barriers. The damage may be minimal but it would be enough. My concussive missile shot at the first mercenary in the hallway.
"Boom," the body of a Taurian slid back into the hall. His body landed awkwardly to the side. As I passed by him I place two shots in him. The two shots hit square in the chest going right through his armor. To my left, I smacked the shield against the Krogan that stood standing.
"Arggh!!" The Krogan slumped against the wall making a dent with his hand. Aligning his shotgun he fired at me. I moved forward right before he pulled the trigger. Sliding on my feet with some mist vapor around it. I pushed out with biotic energy causing the shots traveled a little to the side.
Galtea: At least you are now improving. If you end this in time, I have a reward for you.
"Kchk, Kchk," his shotgun blasted into the Turians face disfiguring him. The Krogan charged himself up with biotic energy. The charged wrapped around his shotgun for a strike I was already moving down the hall. He turned his back towards the elevator. Bad move.
"Kchk," Shalla' fired the shotgun right in his back as she cleared the elevator. Holding his body up with biotics, he was then thrown right above my head hitting against another Krogan right as I made my move against him. With him falling down in front of me. I took the chance to unload the rounds into the next one. The Turian fired back. His rifle caught me in the knee and my shoulders.
"Koom," Mia's sniper round passed right over my shoulder hitting a Turian who just turned around the corner in the skull. His blue blood poured out in a beautiful arc hitting against my shield. I watched the flow and activate my Lv3 162/200 Adrenaline Rush. Time slowed down right after I heard the order.
"Hit the deck! Rocket coming!" Mia said over the comms. 'His movement is anticipating changes now. Did he receive that training in Cerebus as well?' A Turian came up to the side of Shalla. To close for comfort apparently. Shalla' lit him up with Inferno.
With a moment to catch my breath, I responded to Galtea. 'Tch. As long as its something to help sure.' I turned to look down the hall. 'Three or four, not that many here. Should be easy.' Rolling my shoulders I bent my knee testing it. 'Good should work.'
I rushed forward intercepting the rocket with my shield. When it made contact it blasted me into the side. Ignoring the little ringing in my ears. I broke through the smoke, rifle unloading. Covering the distance mostly was the problem. I should have bought biotic charge. It would have definitely cleared the way easier. Dropping a Krogan that came in front of me afterward, I propped against the wall. Looking at the few I passed by. They were scrambling to get up as I laid down support fire.
Clearing the way took another minute or two total. Moving up to the hall main door. I tried comms again. The static finally started to break a little. If any of you can hear me, I am coming in. I will open this door now. Do not shoot me.' Connecting my omni tool I started to get to work with Lunabella.
Mia kept watching out for anything else. The waves from her let me know she was calm. So no issue there. Man my work much easier to do. Shalla went about collecting ammo and weapons that could be scavenged.
The door opened up. Other team was inside wounded barely alive.
"Fuck!." Moving over to them I grouped them togthor pouring all the limit healing I could to help.
Contacting topside now that the jammer was destroyed we needed to get out.
Riku called over, "we are coming back to get you all. Exogeni is sending a team now. Five hours till they are here."
Getting everyone together we made to the exits leaving. Once up top, the crew came to take the wounded. Riku made it over to me.
"Everything is clear. The Krogan ship tried to make it but we crippled the weapons. They fled the sector so we have that to deal with." As Riku looked at me she made sure everyone else was out of earshot. "Why did you want me to tell them to gather up the remains? Shouldn't everything be in good condition?"
"It was." Before she asks again, I saw the option of blue and red again. Riku was in blue my Omni tool was in red. I pushed a command on my Omnitool. The planet rumbled a little bit. "Yeah, the remains."
It only took her a few seconds to recognize what I did. "There were still survivors in the pods. Wasnt there?" Riku asked a little upset. "Why didn't you tell us you would blow it all up?!"
"It killed the enemy," Agria said walking back. The rumble must have made her worried.
"Nope. When I transferred the power around, the life pods started to die. I had no plans on risking the crew with any chances. Life support was turned off throughout the facility normally. So I moved the power to suit what I wanted. Hate me for it if you wish." Walking towards the shuttle I stopped for a moment. "I didn't tell you because it was not your burden to bear. The lives of those people only need to weigh on me. The price of command I am afraid." Stepping inside I relaxed into my seat.
'You idiot! You could have one of us do it. None of us would have disagreed. Especially with what I read from the file. The Protheans were monsters before the Reapers made their return.' Kicking a rock around Riku sulked just a little before she entered the other shuttle. "Let's get off this planet already."
