While the two stared at Khal with stupified expressions, trying to figure out how he was able to kill so many creatures that easily, Khal consumed the Beasts Essences in peace.
Time passed quickly and after consuming all the Essences on the first floor, increasing his units of Beast Essence to 1,231, he opened his eyes and stood up.
"Where can we descend to the second floor?"
Baylie and Deva looked at Khal for a bit longer before both of them snapped out of their daze and quickly led the way toward the second floor.
After traveling a few miles, which was confusing as the exterior of the pillar was at the most a mile wide, the three arrived before the staircase which led the way down to the second floor.
While descending, Deva decided to ask a question from Khal who followed her closely from behind.
"So, Young Master, which floor do we wish to reach?"
"According to what I got to learn, we want to reach floor 489," Khal replied with a nonchalant look.
"F-Four hundred and eighty-nine? No one has ever traveled so deep into the Neverending Dungeon!" Deva halted her steps, her pretty race holding great shock as she started at Khal with widened eyes.
"Never? Then how did he know the exact amount of floors this dungeon had?" Khal raised his brow as he took a glance at Baylie behind him.
"Knowing the number of floors and reaching them are two different things," said Baylie and continued to explain, "In the past, several experts used their Talents to examine the pillar and its exterior and after many years they concluded that there are exactly 999 floors."
"However, this doesn't mean they have also roamed all the floors and reached the deepest one!"
"Then how many floors had been explored so far?" Khal asked curiously.
Baylie and Deva exchanged glances before both of them sighed and replied simultaneously, "Floor 299..."
"Floor 299? Why, what is there?"
However, to that question, not even the two knew the answer as not even they were told.
"I see, so that's why..." Khal nodded and decided not to mull over the matter anymore.
The three continued their way down, and soon reached the second floor which this time was a dense forest, filled with trees higher than anything Khal had previously seen.
"Kekek!"
And exactly as they stepped foot onto the soil, Khal watched as several green creatures akin to goblins appeared on the trees' trunks, each of them holding different weapons crafted from wood and stone.
"Razor Goblins!" Deva and Baylie immediately summoned their weapons, a wand and a great sword respectively, before they stood around.
"Let us take care of them," Deva told Khal, who was ready to use his Devil Fangs to kill the creatures around them.
Khal took a glance at Deva and after seeing the plea in her eyes he sighed and nodded.
"Sure."
Deva hearing this smiled and tightened her fingers around her wand before raising it into the air and saying to Baylie, "Let's teach them a lesson."
"Sure thing!" Baylie grinned and with a wide swing, swayed his greatsword from side to side, immediately chopping the trees into half.
Deva seeing the Razor Goblins falling from the air like raindrops smiled and spun her wand in her fingers before pointing it at the beasts.
"Grim Fire, Soul Consumer!"
BOOOM!
Right as her voice fell, a sea of purple flames appeared out of thin air in the sky, engulfing the creature's bodies that resulted in soul-shaking shrieks the very next second!
"Kiiiieeeee!"
Watching as the Razor Goblins struggled to put out the fire from their bodies among blood-freezing cries, Khal felt a chill brush through his body and couldn't help but admire Deva's power.
'Her power is truly frightening. The creatures' body is intact yet they are obviously in pain, some even already dead!'
[Soul Eroding skills are rare and ones that are associated with the element of fire are even rarer. That girl is special and once she reaches the Higher Realms she definitely becomes a powerful and influential figure.]
Hearing Nova's voice Khal nodded as he thought the same too.
The Razor Goblins died quicker than flies would and after a few minutes, every one of them was killed without any problems.
Khal watching the huge amount of Beast Essences around him looked at Baylie and Deva before motioning them to consume them.
"No, that is Young Master's. We were told that whatever was slain inside should and must belong to you, including Beast Essence."
Khal hearing this shook his head and said, "I don't care what you were told, you have worked for it, so it naturally belongs to the two of you."
However, not even that made the two move, thus Khal sighed and said, "Then how about this? From the third floor on, we will slay the creatures together and we will split the Beast Essence among us fairly. Is that okay with you?"
Deva and Baylie looked at each other, hesitant about what to say, but in the end, they couldn't help but accepted Khal's offer as they too wanted to become stronger and after seeing Khal's strength they knew this was the perfect chance for them.
"Nice, then let's do it like this." Khal smiled and after consuming the Beast Essences, as the two insisted on it, they continued to travel even deeper into the dungeon.
Quickly, they cleared fifty floors with relative ease, splitting the Beast Essences between each other fairly.
However, after the fiftieth floor, Khal noticed that Deva and Baylie looked rather exhausted as the amount of time they needed to kill the creatures became longer and longer, sometimes even needing his help!
Of course, Khal knew it was not because they were weak, but because he was stronger than them thanks to his improved Cultivator Traits from his quests.
Thus, after killing the final creature on floor 77, he stopped the two and sat down.
"Sit down and rest. You need it."
The two looked at Khal to say that they were perfectly fine and they can continue, but for some strange reason, no words left their mouths.
And in the end, they could do nothing but sit down too, and replenish their energy in silence.
