I sighed deliberately. "I heard Jing Tian has known that young lady since they were young. In fact, they were kidnapped together. They had gone through a lot. Jing Tian must be telling you the truth when he said he didn't like her, because if he did, wouldn't he have married her a long time ago?"
Madam Jing looked at me.
I continued, "Jing Tian and my little uncle have been living overseas. They have studied and started their careers together. Lately, Old Master Jing called Jing Tian back to the country. Not long after that, my little uncle also returned. Jing Tian bought the villa next door and then he recommended my uncle to buy this villa next to his."
Madam Jing's face was dark.
I sighed again, "My parents died when I was six. My eldest uncle took my father's property and pretended to adopt me. However, I was constantly abused by my eldest aunt and cousin. That continued until Jing Tian saw me by chance. He saved me from that awful household. After my little uncle returned, he bought back my custody right with a huge sum of money. Then I finally moved here. Back at my eldest uncle's place, I was forced to live inside the storage room that didn't have a window."
Madam Jing's eyes watered.
"Madam Jing, Jing Tian is my savior, and my little uncle is my only relative. I will not leave them no matter what. I'd rather the rumors settle on me than have the unsightly rumors target my little uncle and Jing Tian. Madam, can you understand that?"
Madam Jing's gaze softened.
"I'm appreciative that Madam Jing is willing to give me a house but I don't have need of all that. I was raised in a storage room, do I really need a big house to myself?" I asked sincerely.
To my surprise, Madam Jing shook her head.
Internally, I sighed in relief.
"Are they... really like you said?" She asked me in fear.
I pondered for a moment. "Madam Jing, I believe the rumors you heard are spread by that same young lady to force Jing Tian to marry her. But Jing Tian is your son. Are you going to force him to marry someone he doesn't love and make him suffer for the rest of his life?"
"Of course not!" Madam Jing blurted out.
I nodded. "I agree. Madam Jing, you shouldn't believe those hearsay. You should believe your son. Furthermore, I have noticed that even Jing Tian's father doesn't love Jing Tian as much as you do, right? Perhaps he's standing on the outside, trying to force Jing Tian into the marriage too."
Old Master Jing, you can't blame me for doing this. Since you've made a move, I have to counter.
Madam Jing nodded in agreement. "You're right! He has so many sons and Jing Tian is only one of them! He must have been fooled by others and intended to sell my Jing Tian out! That bastard, I will never forgive him!"
All mothers in the world are the same. As blissfully ignorant as Madam Jing was, her love for Jing Tian was real. If it was for her son, she was willing to sacrifice herself.
I felt guilty because I had given her such blatant lies but I couldn't take back what I had said.
Sigh, why is my life so difficult?
