Heavenly Conquest – 3
“Fate, is this really enough?” Belphegor asked me as we stood in front of the gate.
“Aren’t we too weak?”
“It doesn’t mean anything to be weak.” I looked at the members of Rebellion, and the demons gathered there. We had less than twenty people. Maybe I neglected to declare that I would be waiting in the underground, and I told them not to follow me if they didn’t want to come. These were the real followers I had, waiting for me to rise to my position.
“Do you have no desire to step in Heaven at least once?”
“But wouldn’t it be possible to leave the monsters in the underground?”
Poras, an older man with a beard, responded seriously to Ose’s belligerent words. Ose clicked his tongue, but in the end, he didn’t care much about the other demons.
“Best to leave them be.”
“We’ll have a feast of victory. Best set only one table.”
This reaction was no wonder for anyone who knew the immense power of Heaven. If they ran away or hid underground, maybe they could live for a little longer. They thought they could avoid the battle. But would everything go the way they wanted? The only reason I haven’t eaten them already was because it wouldn’t benefit me.
“If you’re here, do your best.” The demons looked polite and bowed their heads at my words.
“Then let’s go.”
“It’s Heaven.” Lilith muttered behind me.
“I’ve been wanting to taste the air there.”
“There is an annoying white glow everywhere. It’s like there are multiple Lucifers.” Amimon responded to her sarcastically, but she shrugged.
“It’s a place that won’t be around for much longer, so neither the air nor the light matters.” I declared so confidently, even though I wasn’t sure of our victory. I feared them before, back when I was the ruler of the underground. But I couldn’t show any fear. If I was shaken, all those following me would fall apart.
“Fate?” I could feel the weight upon my shoulders. In the past, I was too weak to be free. But now that I had acquired strength, I was only further burdened by the countless people who came to trust and depend on me. But the two weren’t the same. The lack of freedom born from being weak versus being strong could never be the same. I looked back at everyone following me.
“What’s not the same?”
“No, it’s nothing.” I shook my head at my sister, who heard my murmurs. There was no way I could say such things out loud. The only thing that was certain now was that I wanted to survive along with everyone.
“Let’s go. The first moments will be particularly intense, so everyone be careful.”
“I’m expecting it.”
“Let’s fight.” I couldn’t wait forever. Taking a deep breath, I went through the gate. White light poured down upon us as we went through.
[You dare defile this sanctuary?!]
A shrill voice shook the world. The light enveloped us as if it could devour us, although its power was a little less than Lucifer’s.
“The welcome was a bit rough, but yes.” I held Halpas in one hand in the form of the dagger Annihilation. He was further strengthened by Gabriel’s power, transforming it from a dagger closer to the size of a short sword.
[Gabriel! Gabriel’s power is in that sword!]
[This wicked devil has insulted Gabriel!]
Through the power of Annihilation, the white light around us was gradually shaved away, revealing the appearance of those around us. White porcelain skin, white armor, and wings on their backs, they were angels like Gabriel.
“They’re beautiful like dolls. I can’t want to hear them cry out!”
“Let’s get them!”
[Kill! Kill all of them!]
[Remove everything in Fate’s path!]
The demons jumped out from behind me and launched their attack at the angels. The members of Rebellion soon followed after them.
“We’ve come to kill the real bad guys! We will end the evil that is Heaven!”
[We can manage this light.]
[To think that my love has failed because of them!]
“I can’t die yet!” The world we could see before us now was no different in appearance than Earth.
“This isn’t our home, be careful.”
“No need to say it.” Lilith raised one hand up, spreading her power over the beings around her. I knew how effective it would be against these celestial creatures.
[It’s the devil queen.]
[My head feels dizzy…]
[It feels like I am incomplete. What is coming over me?]
[We are created to protect Heaven…!]
The angels around us began to slow down. Lilith’s ability worked equally across all beings. Perhaps she could even affect inanimate objects if she tried hard enough.
“I won’t let my sister outperform me!”
[This damn light!]
Lilith’s performance encouraged our troops just as it demoralized theirs. They ripped into the angels, throwing them down and devouring them. I called Canis and Solas to go ahead.
“There must be a central axis that composes this world. Although it’s not the body of Heaven, we need to find it.” Since the heavenly world was composed of one massive will, it didn’t have anything that could be called a body. Everything around us was a part of Heaven, even these angels. Thus it was most likely that we were in the belly of the enemy. However, there should be a power source that the heavens would have put out so they could exert their influence outside. That was what I was aiming for. Right now, I was only surrounded by low-level angels, but no doubt, the lords of Heaven would be guarding what I aimed for.
“Let’s move. It doesn’t make sense to fight these guys forever. We have to capitalize on our surprise attack and push at full speed.”
“It’s not that easy, captain!” Even though Lee Chan-yu was grumbling, he concentrated the power of those under his command into his muscles. Several demons behind him began to raise their magic to aid him.
“Get rid of everything!”
“Ahhhhhhhhhh!”
[They are filthy creatures who don’t know of the great creator!]
[Stop them!]
The demons charged, and the winged angels arrived to block them. Lilith weakened them as Belphegor’s chains shut off their escape. Amimon was swinging his fists with pure magic, splattering the blood of angels in the air. Screams cried out everywhere. I lightly swung my hand to recover the mana of those who were dying, capturing it with my powers so that it couldn’t return to Heaven. I sent it to the demons under my command to restore them.
[Baal’s army will never lose!]
[It’s been too long since I’ve enjoyed fighting a strong opponent!]
[Let’s end it all!]
As the morale of my allies was reaching the peak, Canis sensed a change in this small world. I turned my head towards the direction he was looking at. It was time for me to join the fray. I became jealous of Lee Chan-yu’s power as I activated my powers of Wrath and Domination.
“Whoo.” Raising my hand, I pulled out the mana of all beings that I ruled over who weren’t in this place right now, gathering them.
“Well, let’s try not to die.” I pulled enough mana from the underground demons to leave them alive only barely. They wanted to live, so this was a fair price.
“Then.” Everyone around me noticed the enormous density of mana gathered in my left hand. I processed it into the form of a blackmine, pouring all I could into it to strengthen it further.
“Let’s fight, you bastards!”
I launched it at the core of Heaven.
