160 Maiden Dancing Under The Autumn Leaves

I surmised I had not tempered enough sword qi to be able to use a new waveform attack. The way this technique evolve was through tempering. Once you had generated enough sword qi you could then learn a new waveform and breakthrough.

Earth Splitting and Earth Shattering were the limits for me.

I redoubled my efforts the next week by mastering Earth Shattering and perfecting Earth Splitting. Earth Splitting was no longer second fiddle to my Earth Shattering. After a while, I found I could no longer improve my sword qi. Only through battle could my sword qi be tempered further.

It was time for me to head out and find a worthy opponent to temper my blade!

With my sword covered, I ventured further into the blue haze. I could easily destroy number 984 with my current attainments in Sword Dao, so it shouldn't be an issue for me to slaughter a few humans. If they could see my rank on the sword chart the foolish sword scarred brutes wouldn't dance around like clowns for me.

A sword scarred bulky man with a chipped sword came out of the blue haze.

My slash ventured forth first breaking his sword then cutting his body in half before making a dent in the canyon. My Earth Splitting had truly come a long way. It was surely equivalent to my Earth Shattering now.

I played with a few more dancing clowns as I walked into Sword Gash Ridge. Cutting humans down like grass was a good pass time. Their blood-curdling screams were music to my ears. When I get the time I've gotta take a stroll through a pocket realm. Just to slaughter for fun.

A young devil lord should enjoy his self some time. I've done nothing but cultivate the past few years, and it has gotten tiresome. After I make it back to the Hudson Estate, I'll have a little fun before heading to the Western Frontier. Yeah, a little fun will serve this young lord well.

I became more brutal as I played with the dancing clowns. Giving these insects a quick death was too kind. Letting them suffer was more enjoyable. I started whistling a little tune as I got into my grove

"Walking through the rift!"

"My hand! Ah, I give up!"

"With a one-sword open slash!"

"My other hand! Why would you do that?"

"Slaughtering the fields we go"

"My leg! I already can't fight!"

"Laughing all the way"

"My other leg! I… I don't even have any limbs now!"

"Headless humans scream"

"Not my head, please sir I beg you!"

"Making murder light"

"Not my tongue!"

"What fun it is to kill and maim"

"Mah eer!"

"Those that can't fight"

"You vile fiend! How dare you murder so many cultivators!" said the sword maiden.

"Earth Splitting"

She dodged my first slash! Oh boy, looks like I fished out a worthy opponent.

"How could you commit so many atrocities, are you not human?" said the sword maiden as she came to attack me.

I began to melee with her while ignoring her senseless babbling. Why should this young devil lord converse with the soon to be departed?

It was an intense battle, blow for blow she countered my attacks. This was just the type of fight I needed to breakthrough! I had hooked a big fish.

"I will enact justice on behalf of the heavens!" said the sword maiden as she looked at me with resolve.

"Cherry Blossom"

Her sword shattered creating many tiny leaves of sword qi. The leaves circled around her creating a stunning scene. It was like watching a maiden dancing under the autumn leaves. It was almost like a domain the way the leaves danced around her, if I wasn't a Viscount I would think it was one.

Her dancing leaves had no suppressive effect on me, so this wasn't a domain. It was an interesting use of sword qi, however.

As she sat under her rainfall of autumn leaves she looked at me with murderous eyes. Waving her hand towards me as if sending me off to die.

"Cherry Blossom Scatter"

The dancing sword qi leaves circled around her creating a flowing stream, then that stream headed right towards me.

"Earth Shattering"

It had almost no effect, the sword qi leaves she created were simply too small to be shattered. I ran for my little life as the river of sword qi leaves dived into my previous location. They created a massive crater then came back to surround her.

"You may have survived my first attack, but this time you will die fiend!" screamed the maiden as she started making hand symbols.

Oh god, why do all these stupid humans like making hand symbols?

"Cherry Blossom Storm"

Her leaves, floating in the wind, then shattered into even smaller leaves that surrounded her. Almost every the entire area around her was covered in tiny sword qi leaves. If initially, it was a stream now it was a torrenting river of sword qi leaves.

I had no idea how she even produced so much sword qi, and was able to maintain it in solid form. Her Sword Dao technique was on the same level as Shi Da's shameless old master. Defeating this woman would take everything I had.

I ran from the river of leaves that tried to cut off all routes of my escape as I sent out attack after attack to break through their veil. This was a nightmare. What type of monster did I even anger?

I'm sure Shi Da never fought this woman in his life. If he did he wouldn't have lived to tell the tale!

I needed to breakthrough in order to counter this storm!
