Chapter 28 - Party at Fairy tail! Arthur and Laxus Brawl!

On the next day's morning, while Arthur was still asleep.

Erza finally woke up

"Ughh…" she ġrȯȧnėd, feeling pain all over her body.

-"Finally awake, ey Erza?"- Lazarus said as he connected to their mind link.

-"What… Where am I? What happened…?"- She asked while using the mind link herself.

She was still too tired to speak.

-"You're in the house of Daisyfield village's Mayor. One of his guest rooms to be precise."- Lazarus answered her question.

-"I see… Did Arthur bring me here?"- She asked another question.

-"That he did. The poor lad's collapsed in this room's other bed over there."- Lazarus answered again, however he had no hand with which to point to where Arthur was at.

-"I'd expect no less after all that happened on Crego island… I hope he'll be alright… Ah! That reminds me, what happened to Rowl?"- She asked again.

Realizing a never ending stream of questions was forming Lazarus decided to reply in a different manner.

-"Instead of answering that… I'll just show you my memories."- After saying so, Lazarus strengthened the mind link and Erza was able to see all of the events that happened since she had lost consciousness.

-"Since when can you do that?!"- She asked all surprised.

-"I've always been able to do that. There simply wasn't a reason to do it until now."- He replied a bit irritated that he potentially created a new stream of questions.

-"Ahh, well… I hope Rowl will be alright."- Erza said and closed her eyes once more.

-"He'll probably be fine. As a simple accomplice and member of that guild, he'll most likely just get sentenced to a dozen years in prison or so."- Lazarus replied

-"Yeah perhaps you're right… Anyway I think I'll try resting for a bit longer… My body has yet to recover from the last fight."- Erza said and started falling asleep again.

-"Rest easy, I'll wake you up if anything happens."- Lazarus said.

-"Thanks."- With that last reply, Erza once more entered dream land…

Hours later, it was already lunch time and three young maids entered the room.

They had brought food and drinks for the two mages that were still asleep.

"Those two are still sleeping… Do you think we should wake them up?" The one that seemed like the youngest asked.

"Perhaps we should let them rest, no?" The older one spoke.

"No. They both need to eat in order to regain their strength! Nothing beats my cooking anyway, so they'll surely be fine after having a few bites. Hahaha!" The eldest maid said as she laughed.

Before they could even reach Erza's bedside, Lazarus had already awoken her.

"Ah… Thank you for the meal." She said before sitting down at a table they had brought in together with the food.

"Don't mention it dear, just eat up and regain your strength!" The eldest said as the other two went to wake up Arthur.

(Arthur POV)

Hurts.

Damn.

It.

…

"Sir mage… Could you please wake up?"

Wait a second…

Maids?

"We've brought you some food to eat."

Food?!

Before everyone could make sense of what was going on, I had already eaten half of my portion.

"Ahhh!! Sir mage, you should slow down!" The maid who was with Erza said, presumably the eldest among the three that were here.

I finished the rest of the food I was served before she could even try to stop me.

"Seconds please!" I raised one of the plates I had cleaned to perfection with my remaining had.

"…" There was an awkward silence for a bit before they all started laughing.

"… What?" I asked quite confused at the scene

Even Erza was chuckling in the background…

"It's nothing… We'll bring you more food in a bit. Come on girls!" The eldest maid said before the three left the room.

"Oh well… In the meantime I guess I'll just take some of my own food out… {Storage}!" I said and took out a few boxes of barbecue like the ones I had given Rowl.

"Mm? Sure. Here you go." I said and took out another box of barbecue, as well as a piece of the homemade strawberry cake I baked the other day.

"Thanks Arthur!" Erza smiled and started eating the barbecue.

Soon she finished that as well and tried the cake.

"Oh… my…!" She had stars form in her eyes after she took the first bite.

"This… This is… DELICIOUS!" With an adorable look on her face, she continued to savor the taste with every single bite.

Huh… I guess I just gave Erza her cake addiction? Sweet!

Literally!

"Arthur where did you get this cake from?!" She asked me

"I made it myself. Though the inspiration for it wa-" She cut me off.

"O-of course! I do have more actually. {storage}! Here you go." I replied and gave her the entire strawberry cake that I had baked.

Yeah… Definitely just gave her the addiction to strawberry cake there…

After that Erza simply hummed the entire time as she ate more and more of the cake.

Any worries she had must have vanished with the cake's taste spreading throughout her taste buds…

Soon afterwards the maids came back and I ate another portion of food before I was finally full!

"Sir and Lady Mage. Would you please accompany us to the Mayor's office once more? He wishes to reward you personally." The eldest maid said to which both me and Erza nodded.

It didn't take long to reach the office, the mayor was sitting at his desk waiting for us with a bag of money on top of it.

"I hope you've rested well." His old voice said.

He seemed like he had aged a few years, eyes were red and had bags under them.

He must not have been able to sleep at all…

"Yes, we indeed have. Thank you for allowing us to rest in your home… It has been much appreciated." Erza replied politely.

"Mm… Well then, without further ado I shall give you your reward. 1,700,000 Jewels in all." He said and handed us the bag.

"Thank you. I hope you'll take care of yourself now Mr. Mayor. Perhaps we'll meet again someday!" I tried my best to lighten his mood.

"Yes, if there is ever a problem I'll be sure to call you over." He then forced a smile.

Ahh… I feel bad.

Wish we could have done more for this man…

After saying our goodbyes, me and Erza walked out of the village for a while before I opened a gate leading to the guild.

"Ah! Before that. {heal}!" I said and all of my previously created wounds were finally healed.

I could have healed sooner but I didn't feel like explaining everything to the Mayor or maids…

Or Erza actually, but apparently she guessed already.

"Wow… You really can do that huh? I ȧssumed it was possible but I wasn't certain… To think you're really capable of healing all of that!" Erza said in amazement

"Well, yeah... I have a pretty handy magic don't I? Hahaha" I laughed for a bit before the two of us went through the gate and popped up inside of the Fairy tail's guild hall.

"Arthur! Erza! You're finally back!" Ultear exclaimed when she saw us appear.

"Geez, what took you two soo long! You had me all worried!" Cana said as she pouted

"You've been gone for more than a day… what happened?" Lyon asked as well

"Since you're finally back, why don't we fight!? Come on Erza!" Gray yelled out.

I guess he didn't care about the job?

Wow.

Before long some of the other guild members also came along to ask questions

Was it really that big of a deal?

Erza seemed like she was feeling uncomfortable in this situation…

"Give them some personal space you brats!" Gramps suddenly came down from the second floor and everyone looked at him.

"What happened? Why did that job take you two so long Arthur?" He walked up to me and asked.

I guess my reputation precedes me… To think a longer mission would issue such a reaction!

"Well… It turned out to be a bit more complicated than what we had thought originally… Haha…"

"Ehh? Really now? How come?" Macao asked.

"Well, you see… It was labeled as an A ranked quest… But I'd honestly prefer to call it an SS ranked one instead… Haha… Haaaaa…" I said with a sigh.

"WHAT?!" The whole guild exclaimed

"Surely you're kidding right?" Wakaba asked, still not believing what he heard

"I'm serious though! There was some dark guild over on the island we went too, and they even summoned a demon from the books of Zeref!" I explained

"And what happened to this demon?" Gramps asked.

"Well…" I looked to Erza before continuing

"It's pretty dead. I must say." I said.

"You killed it?! By yourself?" Allot of people exclaimed.

The previous time I had fought a demon, it was Gildarts who came to save the day…

So of course they'd be surprised!

Little did they know…

-"Arthur, can you take the credit for this?"- Erza suddenly connected a mind like with me through Lazarus.

-"Huh, Why? That's an amazing achievement you have there! You should be proud about it."- I asked.

-"Yeah but…"- She stopped talking mid sentence.

-"She's hesitant about these people here still… You can understand that can't you?"- Lazarus chimed in.

-"Trust is it…? I understand what you mean, but I don't think the members of Fairy tail will make anything bad over it, at most they'd be amazed for a bit before continuing their day. But so be it, if that's what you want I'll oblige."- I replied.

-"Thank you."- Erza said before cutting the mind link.

The conversation had lasted merely a second so I just continued where we left off a moment ago.

"Yeah, I guess I kinda did… Haha" I said as I rubbed the back of my head.

"Wow!"

"That's amazing!"

"He's improving too fast…"

"That's our Arthur Hahaha!

Many various voices spoke up with praises for me.

It didn't feel right as it was Erza's achievement and not mine, heck I'd be dead if it wasn't for her!

But I did say I'd comply with her request soo...

She may have softened up to me a bit but she's still not used to the guild over all after all…

Having such a highlight suddenly probably doesn't seem like a fun time to her.

"Well, I think this calls for a celebration! What do you brats say?" Gramps suddenly said, getting everyone's attention.

"Let's throw a partyyyy!!!" Makarov yelled out at the top of his lung at which everyone cheered!

"YEAAHHHH!"

"Let's do this!"

"Get the alcohol over here!"

"We're drinking the guild dry tonight!"

"It's still the middle of the day though…"

"Haha the early bird gets the worm!"

Everyone was cheering and dancing, alcohol was being thrown around like water and it was still mid day…

Needless to say this will end up being a sleepless night…

I wasn't even allowed to leave as the so called party was thrown in honor of my achievement!

It isn't every day you get to slay a demon after all…

Though it soon devolved into a brawl…

Gray and Lyon participated in it, and so did Cana surprisingly!

Erza and Ultear just kinda sat at a table minding their own business with Ultear asking Erza questions from time to time only to get a mediocre answer at best.

It was better than yes or no though! Some improvements have been made!

Oh by the way, I also fought!

Usually I'd stay clear of the brawls unless someone asks to fight me.

Cough, Laxus Cough.

Anyway… I knocked nearly half the guild out before Laxus himself came to challenge me once again.

"Arthur! Fight me here and now! I'll beat you to a bloody pulp!" Laxus roared as he dashed towards me.

"Hey, hey! You're supposed to be congratulating me on an achievement! C'mon!" I said as I blocked his punch with an X shaped guard made by my hands.

Bloody hell!

This guy is getting stronger physically on a daily basis!

That punch send me flying a few feet before I was able to stable my footing.

"You're getting better at this ain't cha?" I said before jumping up to his face and launching a kick at him with my right foot!

He of course managed to block it with his left hand supported by the right.

As I was landing he attacked me with his right knee on which I placed both of my palms to avoid getting hit.

I propelled myself away from him and landed on top of a table.

"Get back here you coward!" Laxus roared and jumped from above

He raised his leg above his head and slammed it at me, I of course dodged but the table wasn't so lucky…

"Hey! I have to fix that you know!" I yelled at him

"Don't care!" He replied and threw a barrage of punches my way.

I did the same, and our fight devolved into an extreme fist fight of endurance!

Luckily for me, I was able to dodge about half of his punches while he bȧrėly dodged any.

In the end we both went for a wide swing and punched each other in the face!

Laxus got knocked out while I stumbled backwards…

After wiping off some blood from my mouth, I spit out a tooth and some blood before saying.

"Better luck next time Laxus… Damn it you're getting better and better at this with each passing day…"

"Anyway, I think I'm done for tonight… {Heal}!" I said and lazily walked back to the table where Erza and Ultear were at.

Lyon and Grey we all bruised up and bȧrėly conscious at the table too!

Gray of course, was wearing almost nothing.

"Hey." I waved and sat down.

"Wassup Arthur! That was a nice fight you had there with Laxus!" Ultear smiled at me.

"You call that nice? Bloody bastard beat my face in…" I replied.

"Hahaha, well serves you right! Look at all the damage you caused by yourself here! Hehehe" She said with a chuckle

Looking around I realized more than sixty percent of the guild was on the floor.

All of them were knocked out by me…

"Huh… Guess you're right." I simply nodded at the truth.

Cana was actually still fighting…

She was currently beating both Macao and Wakaba black and blue!

Those poor souls…

"A-Arthur…!" Gray suddenly bȧrėly mumbled

"Eh? What is it Gray? Do you need something?" I asked him.

This guy is pretty bruised up… And so was Lyon… I think I saw them both trying to challenge Erza earlier…

"Fight… Me…" He uttered before losing consciousness.

"… Do you have muscles for brains? Geez…" Ultear said in response to Gray's sentence.

"Well, at least he didn't try picking a fight with me again." Erza said and sipped from a cup of tea.

She was having tea and strawberry cake, presumably from the cake shop we have here in Magnolia.

"Haaa… Now I feel like eating some cake myself…" I sighed while looking at her cake.

"Hm… Would you like mine?" Erza suddenly asked me.

"Eh? Really? Thanks!" Without asking any further questions I took her up the offer.

The cakes that guy from the shop makes are REALLY good!

"No problem… Just make sure you repay me with one of your homemade cakes." Erza said with one of her rare smiles.

"Oh, sure! I'd do that either way! Hahaha" I laughed at her attempt to extort cake from me.

Just ask me, really.

…

The night continued until everyone was down for the count, either from fighting or from drinking.

Ultear went home earlier, dragging both Gray and Lyon with her.

Cana also helped her with that.

I on the other hand just kinda sat with Erza as we talked about various things that came to mind.

Finally gramps came to our table.

"Hey there kids. You mind if I sit for a bit? Hic." The drunk old man asked before sitting down on his own.

He seemed like he was quite drunk.

"Sure thing gramps, what do you need?" I asked

"Ahh… Well I was here for Erza actually." He replied

"Me?" She asked surprised.

"Yesh… I'd like to take you to see an old friend of mine, her name is Porlyusica. She's a doctor, Fairy tail's medical advisor I guess you could call her." Gramps explained.

"Okay… but for what reason? I'm not sick nor am I hurt." Erza was clueless as to what reason gramps would have to take her to meet such a person.

"Ah, it's not that… It's just that I talked with her before about you and she said she'd be able to fix your eye problem." He replied.

Erza froze for a second…

"R-really?" She asked with a trembling but also expectant and seemingly happy voice.

Ah yes… I remember she was quite happy to get her vision back in the original flashback.

"Yes… We can go visit her tomorrow morning if you'd like. I'm sure you'd be pleased with the result, Porlyusica is the best medic I known. If anyone can return your vision, it'd be her."

"Yes! I'd love to go tomorrow! Please!" Erza smiled at the idea.

Even though I knew of this outcome, it still makes me happy to see her show such a happy expression on her face.

…

A while after Erza left and I was alone with a bunch of drunks in the guildhall…

Whelp, time to clean this place up I guess!
