Chapter 30 - Training session, Arthur VS Erza!

"{Repair}." I said and a destroyed building was quickly reassembled into looking like a newly built one!

"Huff… That's the last one…" Mumbling that under my breath I looked at the house's owner.

"Oooohhh! Thank you so much young man! Those rascals from Fairy Tail sure did a number on my poor humble abode…" A short elderly woman said and walked slowly towards me.

"Here you go sonny, for your troubles!" She handed me a piece of candy.

Do I look like I'm twelve?

Oh wait, I'm eleven.

"Thank you, though there's no real need… This is kinda my job…" I said with the look of a dead man on my face…

I'm so tired after all of that…

What's that? You wanna know how long it took me to fix everything?

Well then…

Before you take a wild guess I'll just tell ya!

It's the next bloody morning! This took me over a day to finish!

"Oh, it's not like you can decline it… It's a humble gift from lil ol' me after all. Hehehe." The old lady chuckled as I took the candy.

Admittedly it was pretty good, a nice sweet piece of candy.

Soon afterwards we parted ways and I just sat there at the same spot of a few seconds...

Haaaaaaaaa…. How'd it ever take this long!?

I managed to fix most of the damages pretty quickly, even for my standards!

Yet the problem was with the core of my mission itself…

The amount of people… and the different jobs they all went on…

Yup… Turns out there was still places I haven't been too!

Crazy I know!

Anyway… I had to take a few trains from one place to another which is what cost me so much time…

"{Gate}…" I bȧrėly mumbled and opened a portal aimed just over my bed.

Walking through I flopped right in, and with a quick {Switch} spell I changed spots with my bedsheets.

"Think I'ma just sleep today off… Yeah… Sounds about right…" With that last mumble I entered the land of dreams…

I great man once said…

Sleep be the blessed, wake be the damned.

I now take those words to heart…

Sleeping an entire day away has been blissful after everything, now I don't even feel like moving…

Sadly I'm going to have to now.

"Yo! Arthur my boy, you did a good job out there!" Gramps came in to my room and said with a hand raised high up to say hello.

I just opened one eye and looked at him as my head was stuffed into the pillow.

"What is it gramps…" I bȧrėly ġrȯȧnėd out.

"Ah, well… I just thought I'd come check on you." He replied with a bit of concern in his voice.

"I'm fine, just want a bit more bed time… Like five more minutes…" I lied through my teeth, rolled in bed and covered my entire body with the sheets.

Of course by that I truly meant another five hours.

"Yeah… That's kinda why I'm here, you've been cooped up in your room for over a day, and it's already way past the afternoon too." Gramps explained with a seemingly tired voice.

"Eh? It's already been that long?" I asked all surprised and rose up from my bed.

Sweet!

"Yeah, and surprisingly the guildhall didn't fall into ruining during your absence. Those brats actually listened to you and cleaned the aftermath themselves! Hahaha!" Gramps said and laughed heartily.

"Good, I would not clean after them even if you forced me to… " I replied to which gramps responded with more laughing.

"Hahaha, well either way I think you should get out of bed now. Come to the guild, I have something fun to show you!" He said with a grin and I simply nodded.

I wonder what it is he wants to show me?

…

Well, I'm at the guild. And I do see what he meant by something fun...

Everyone was dying on the floor or at a table, too tired to move.

Even Gray and Lyon were laying face first on a table together with Cana, Ultear and even Erza surprisingly.

"They've been spent with cleaning the last party's mess… It was a big one! Hahaha" Gramps laughed

"I don't really see it…" Honestly everything was cleaned to perfection.

They did a good job!

"I know right? Hahaha! Well then, I'll be going to my office now. I have some paper work to look through, if you need anything just come knocking." Gramps said and walked towards his office room.

I walked towards the table where Erza, Gray and the other were…

Honestly it's like I'm walking through a field of zombies… There's even groans from time to time.

Was it really that hard…?

"Hey guys." I waved as I got closer to the table.

"Oh, hey Arthur… How did it go over on your end…?" A tired Lyon asked.

"Eh… It worked out, took me a bloody long time to get to all the places though, y'all did a real number of damages you know?" I replied as I sat down next to him and Gray.

"So why are Lyon and Gray the only dead tired people in this group?" I thought I'd ask as the girls were fine.

"Party was for me, so of course I was denied the responsibility to clean." Erza replied and took a sip of tea.

She was eating cake again.

"Makes sense. What about you two?" I asked Cana and Ultear.

"I snuck out, teehee!" Ultear replied with her tongue sticking out to the side.

Try to act cutesy ey?

"Oi, oi, oi… You just left the others to do all the work? Hahaha!" Honestly I found it kinda funny.

"Hey! I worked!" Cana blurted out, standing up and seeming all proud about it.

"But it wasn't that hard, I don't know why everyone is making such a fuss over cleaning." She shrugged

"Because we were all tired already… no sleep… and you broke EVERYTHING!" Gray ġrȯȧnėd out.

"Hmpf, you should have thought twice before challenging me again! Not my fault I can't control my strength that well! Hmpf!" She pouted, moving her head to the side.

Isn't that totally your fault though? Never mind…

"Soo… Do you guys have any plans for today" I asked after taking out a mug filled with tea from my storage.

I like tea in the morning…

Well, afternoon now, but whatever…

"Not particularly." Erza replied as she took a bite from her cake.

"Hmm… Maybe I'll go do a job?" Cana said

"Just don't break anything…" I said with a tired tone in my voice…

Please no…

"Hm… Maybe I'll go with Cana then? If that okay with her of course." Ultear answered me and asked Cana.

"Oh yeah totally! That'll be fun!" She beamed a smile.

"Spare me the damages…" I muttered under my breath.

"Did you say something Arthur nii?" Cana asked, unsure of what I said

"Oh… Oh nothing… Carry on." I replied.

But seriously, spare me the damages…

"I'll go rest at home…" Lyon said and stood up from the table, all wobbly and honestly was bȧrėly standing upright.

"Alright, see ya later then." I waved him goodbye.

"Take care Lyon!" Ultear waved at him.

"Drink some juice! Might make you feel better!" Cana suggested.

Ugh… Is that suggestion going to change from juice to beer in a few years?

Better not think about that…

"Yeah, see you guys tomorrow…" He yawned and walked slowly towards the guild's exit.

Allot of the other guild members decided to follow his example and groggily walked out as well.

While others just snored where they stood…

"How about you Gray? Any plans or are you just gonna sleep today off like Lyon?" Ultear asked after standing up with Cana.

The person in question had started snoring at the table, following the example of what was left of the guild members…

"I'll take that as the sleep option. Aight I'ma head out! Bye you guys!" Ultear said and started walking towards the Job board.

"See you two later!" Cana waved and ran up to Ultear, proceeding to walk at a leisurely pace together with her.

Now it was just me, the wordy mage, a sleepy ice stripper and a girl knight with a magic sword…

Cool beans.

"Since Gray is gonna be sleeping, wanna go out to the woods together?" Erza suddenly asked.

"Hmm, sure? What for though?" I asked all surprised.

I doubt she just wants to go play in the woods, Erza isn't that type of kid after all and neither am I for obvious reasons.

"Training. I want to see what I am currently able to do, what my strength is like compared to yours." She replied, exuding a strong aura akin to that of a veteran warrior, definitely not a presence an eleven year old girl should have…

She's really serious about this huh?

"Alright." I simply nodded and opened a gate to the forest.

We both walked through and found ourselves in a clearing.

"What brought this up anyway?" I thought I'd ask.

She was the one who won against Gifernes, I doubt she'd feel weak after accomplishing that…

"I want to test my current abilities, what I can do while accompanied by Lazarus. That's all really… Well, that and I want to see what I can do with both eyes." Erza replied with a smile.

Ah, so she's still on cloud nine because of that huh?

"Alright then, whenever you're ready." I said and started getting myself ready.

"…" Erza stared at me for a while, she had Lazarus at her hip but didn't draw him.

Oh yeah, now that I think about it Lazarus did mention that she apparently can't wield him until she grows stronger…

Erza ended her long stare by closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, seemingly preparing herself.

"{Requip}!" She yelled out and two katana blades appeared out of thin air.

"Here I come!" Erza yelled at the top of her lungs and rushed towards me!

"{Sink Hole}." I said and created a hole, about four meters deep right beneath her almost instantly.

However she managed to jump to the side and dodged it before the hole even formed!

Erza moved in with fast strides, her speed was much faster than before!

"Haaaa!" She let out a battle cry as she slung her right sword at me, I promptly dodged to the side, however her sword moved along with me!

I only managed to dodge the attack thanks to my superior speed, yet still only by a hair's width!

And even though I dodge, her left sword was already lunged towards my abdomen!

"{Break}" After my words resounded across the forest's clearing, Erza's left sword shattered into pieces.

I then moved away from her with a quick teleport, appearing at one of the tree's branches.

She improved? No… That's too big of an improvement… Too fast to be natural…

Is this because of Lazarus?

(Erza POV)

-"Damn! He broke my sword!"-

-"Calm down Erza, you bought plenty of those already."- Lazarus said.

-"Yes! But they're expensive!"- I replied

-"Ehhh? That's the problem?"- Lazarus asked all surprised.

-"He's paying me back for that… Or better yet making me another sword!"- With that last inner thought, I rushed towards the tree where Arthur had appeared.

"{Requip}!" Switching my one remaining sword for a javelin, I did a running throw and send it flying towards Arthur!

"{Fall}." He uttered one word and the javelin fell to the ground.

-"He's just toying with me at this point…"-

-"Don't give up, this is just a spar and he's not going all out. If you can hit him once I'd call that a win…"- Lazarus replied, obviously not feeling it was possible.

After all, prior to the start of the fight Lazarus had made me use one of his abilities which allowed me to perceive an opponent's Magic Power, even if they're hiding it…

Well… In other words…

I can only really describe Arthur as a monster…

His Magic power is enormous! Comparing it to mine would be like comparing the guild hall to a broken down shack!

-"And then some."- Lazarus added.

"Erza, I'm going on the offensive now." Arthur warned me.

Tsk… I know there's a big difference but to have it thrown in my face like that is…

-"Pay it no heed Erza! He's going to encase you in a dome of stone! Dodge!"- Lazarus yelled out bringing me back to speed.

-"I see it!"- I replied after seeing Arthur's next attack through future vision

"{Stone Dome}!" Arthur words created two half spheres that enclosed from both of my sides

But I had started moving before he even started speaking.

After getting out of the range, I used requip again and took out a bow and a quiver full of arrows.

Thanks to future vision, I knew exactly how he'd dodge and started shooting while aiming at those moments, precisely and repeatedly.

Arrow after arrow flew from my bow string at high speeds resulting in a barrage of over a dozen arrows!

But it wasn't enough… He dodged all of the arrows after I shot them!

There isn't much I can do after they've been sent flying…

-"If a barrage of arrows doesn't work, then try a barrage of weapons!"- After Lazarus' last comment I smirked.

Right I know can still use that trick…

"{Stone Pillars}!" Arthur casted a spell that made dozens of pillars shoot from the ground towards me, I dodged all of them even the one aimed at my back by stepping on it and using it as a launching pad towards him!

-"He may have anticipated that… But we already know it don't we."- I felt that Lazarus was smirking, even if it was only inside of his and my minds.

"{Requip}!" I brought out all of the weapons I had bought with the money from the last job!

Thirty different weapons of high quality!

Injecting them with my magic power, I took control over all of the weapons and sent them flying towards Arthur!

"Heeeh? That's quite Impressive! {Vortex!}" He created a gust of wind, like a tornado, knocking all of the weapons away.

I however, already knew this would happen!

Now, moving through mid-air while riding on a giant great sword, I appeared from Arthur's right side!

Managing to catch him off guard for the first time now and using future vision I was certain I would manage a hit!

…

But what I saw in my vision was only the ground…

None the less I still struck with the sword I was currently holding…

"Wha-" Before I could even speak in confusion, a powerful force pushed me from above…

(Arthur POV)

Erza appeared riding a giant great sword through the air! She was already in striking distance of me and I obviously had no hope to dodge…

Whelp.

"{teleport}" I murmured under my breath and appeared right above her, her sword swash hit nothing but the air and a look of confused appear on her face.

"Wha-" Before she could even finish her sentence, I already cast my next spell.

"{Push}." Using a lesser version of the almighty push spell, I sent Erza flying towards the ground.

It wasn't strong enough to do allot of damage but it probably still hurt!

With another teleport I appeared next to her and looked at her from above, her head moved upwards and she looked at me with a grin plastered on her face.

"I lose." After she admitted her defeat, I simply chuckled and offered her a hand to get up from the ground.

She gladly accepted and stood up.

"That was fun, we should do it again some other time!" I said with a smile.

"Yeah, though don't expect it to be this easy next time. I'll improve more you know?" Erza smiled as she spoke.

"Yeah, I have no doubt! Looking forward to it, haha!" I said with a laugh, anticipating our future bouts.

Erza then paused for a moment, and looked at me seriously

"Hm? What is it?" I asked all puzzled over it.

"Arthur… How did you get so strong?" She asked me, no doubt expecting a satisfactory answer.

Not that I had one.

"I… ugh… I just trained, I've been training my magic power since I was a small kid every day, even now, so my magic power capacity is always at the absolute limit of what it can be for my body to handle." I tried my best to explain.

"That's… wow… What reason would you have to train since you were that little?" She asked surprised.

"Ah, well… I just kinda learned how to do it and realized it helped my magic develop… Using magic was always fun so I kept doing more and more until it became a necessity, even until now." I replied.

I don't think it's really the right time to tell her or anyone for that matter, about the whole 'Game of the gods' deal…

Yeah this is better…

I'll tell them later, it's still a tad bit too soon…

Yeah.

"Still, for your magic power to develop this much… It must have been hard work!" Erza commented.

"Yeah, I used a special technique which allowed me to both train my magic power and also my muscles at the same time!" I replied.

"Oh yeah, now that I think about it I heard about that from Matthew and Lilith when we were still together at the Tower of Heaven! They tried explaining it to me but I didn't really get it…" Erza replied

"Hmm, in that case why don't I teach you? We have all day here anyway." This oughta be fun.

"Really? Thanks! Oh, and one more thing." Erza said with a smile.

"Yes?" I asked not knowing what she might want to ask.

"Can you fix my weapons? The ones you broke I mean." She pointed towards the broken shards of her Sword, and the other damaged weapons that I flung around through the sky.

Some were chipped after hitting the ground…

"Oh… Haha, sorry… I'll fix them of course! Actually lemme just make you something better…"

After that I spent the entire day making weapons and trying to teach Erza how to both train physically and absorb Ethernano at the same time.

She knew how to absorb Ethernano in her body instinctually, but it wasn't easy to both physically train and absorb Ethernano at the same time…

At the end of the day, she was bȧrėly able to absorb one twentieth of what she usually can via normal means…

As for the weapons part, I had made her over a hundred different weapons such as swords, axes, spears, war hammers and the like.

Even arrows.

All of them were made from otherworldly metals that I knew of from my previous life!

Like Adamantium and Vibranium.

To put it simply, Erza was now geared to the teeth!

I even made her some armor based on the same design she usually wears.

I just gave her a piece of armor and used the {Perfect Fit} spell on it!
