“Just block the hole for now. Don’t move!” Zhang Che instructed the Steel-Armored Tyrannosaurus above him. He immediately recalled the Purple Crystal Tortoise and Scarlet Flame Drake, who were out in the open.
Afterwards, Zhang Che climbed up to the tunnel exit, spreading his arms wide and had the Steel-Armored Tyrannosaurus spit out the two eggs in his mouth, catching them. He directly slid down the smooth tunnel.
He slid down about a dozen meters. After confirming that the attacks from above wouldn’t reach him through the spiraling tunnel, Zhang Che recalled the Steel-Armored Tyrannosaurus, who had suffered only minor injuries, and he continued sliding down the tunnel, carrying the two large eggs in his arms.
Two roars filled with sorrow and anger rang out from above. Following that, two fireballs were shot into the tunnel, but detonated in the topmost area due to the spiralling nature of the tunnel.
Zhang Che slid all the way down to the other end of the tunnel, back into the cave. He looked at the two large eggs in hand, bursting out into laughter uncontrollably.
Although his plan didn’t work as he envisioned, and he was unable to slay the two Poison Fire Twin-Headed Dragons, he successfully obtained their eggs. Wasn’t this a kind of success, too?
Regrettably, however, the eggs were considered living bodies, and so were unable to be stored in the Purple Crystal Tortoise’s spatial pocket. Otherwise, if he brought them back to Mercury, they were definitely rare objects. Gods knew how many people would vie to buy them from him.
Zhang Che wasn’t wrong; if he really could bring these two eggs of a six-star dark gold-quality exotic beast back, he would definitely cause a huge sensation.
He had no idea that although other beastmasters were unable to directly imitate him taming exotic beasts into becoming his pet via the mysterious powers of the rainbow crystal, they had managed to research a feasible method to do so, like how Miss Tienan tamed her little rainbow spider, using their nature of seeking their kin when they were just born to gain their acknowledgement.
However, the newly born, or about to be born, exotic beasts would be under heavy protection. How could others obtain them so easily?
Thus, the eggs, or newly born exotic beasts with decent quality, were worth more than twice of other exotic beasts of the same level and quality, but there was only demand and no supply!
Of course, there were huge differences between ordinary beastmasters and Zhang Che’s pets.
The pets Zhang Che tamed via the rainbow crystal were absolutely obedient to his orders. There wouldn’t be any possibility of them betraying him.
On the other hand, the pets ordinary beastmasters tamed might betray their masters if they were treated too badly, stirring the tyrannical nature buried in their genes.
As such, beastmasters who owned pets would treat them, especially those large pets, even more gently than their lovers. That was to deepen their relationship, reducing the chances of betrayal.
The most fundamental difference was that Zhang Che could recall his pets into his spiritual sea, allowing the rainbow crystal’s energy to heal them up. They could also be disguised as subdued beasts, while ordinary beastmasters’ pets couldn’t do that.
Zhang Che naturally had no knowledge of any of this. At this moment, he was looking at the two dragon eggs, fretting.
They were indeed good stuff, but they wouldn’t be easy to bring back.
Putting the matter of their large size being inconvenient to lug them around aside, these were eggs. They might break if he was ever so slightly careless. Even if he was very careful about it, there were always chances of accidents occurring. It truly was too difficult to bring them out of the beast world undamaged.
-Right, I wonder if a beast card would drop if I smashed the egg?- Zhang Che’s eyes instantly lit up. The more he thought about it, the more he felt it likely. He immediately put his thoughts into practice, punching one of the eggs.
A crisp sound rang out. The egg shell cracked; Zhang Che smashed open a fist-sized hole in the egg. Following which, sticky egg white started flowing out from the hole.
“What’s going on? Shouldn’t it turn into a glow of light and dissipate, or a beast card?” Zhang Che was taken aback, unable to understand this phenomenon.
However, he could no longer bother to think about this question in the next moment. As the egg white flowed out, Zhang Che suddenly caught a whiff of an unusual fragrance, and an extreme sense of hunger surfaced, turning his eyes green.
“Chicken egg is an egg, and poison dragon’s egg is also an egg. It’s probably edible, right?” Zhang Che licked his lips and swallowed a large mouthful of saliva. He quickly brought his head closer, his mouth opened wide, and started gulping down large mouthfuls of the flowing sticky egg white.
An inexplicable deliciousness seeped into Zhang Che’s clamoring tastebuds. He almost moaned out loud from satisfaction, and hastened his swallowing speed.
As the egg white entered his stomach, a mass of vigorous energy suddenly burst forth and turned into a warm flow, spreading throughout Zhang Che’s body.
“There’s actually such an effect!” Zhang Che widened his eyes, revealing a look of surprise and disbelief.
In the end, Zhang Che just raised the dragon egg up above his head and similarly bent his neck upwards, swallowing all the liquid…
This entire process lasted several minutes. Zhang Che’s hands were left with only a mostly intact egg shell.
Inside his body, a warm current was surging about like the waves of a vast and mighty river, reaching every corner. It made Zhang Che feel as if he was soaking in a hot spring. It was truly inexplicably comfortable.
He tossed the empty egg shell away and lay on the ground, enjoying the sensation silently with his eyes closed.
It was unknown how long this feeling lasted, before Zhang Che opened his eyes. It seemed as if his eyes emitted a tangible glow of light. Afterwards, he walked up to the wall and took a stance, bending his knee and lowering his waist. His right hand formed a fist and punched at the wall.
A dull, loud bang reverberated throughout the entire cave. A light fist imprint was left on the rock wall where he hit it. A layer of rock was even directly reduced to powder, slowly falling off.

The thirty-sixth year of the new age, twenty-eighth of June, morning…
Eastern Bei Du City, outside the Huang family’s mansion…
Huang Tielan woke up early in the morning and did a round of weight loss workout, then she went to the front hall and had breakfast with her grandparents. Afterwards, she left the mansion with the face basin-sized little rainbow spider following behind her, boarding a luxurious yet low profile sedan.
The car was started up. It slowly accelerated, driving towards Bei Du University.
Today was the day when examinees for Bei Du University’s beast card cultivation major took their written test.
Of course, the written test didn’t require the examinees to come to Bei Du City to take it. They could take the test from whatever city they were from, in their school.
However, Huang Tielan wanted to experience the atmosphere of Bei Du University in advance. Moreover, she was already in Bei Du, so she filled in here as her test location.
The sedan drove on for over an hour through the enormous Bei Du City, and finally stopped at the front gates of Bei Du University. Huang Tielan alighted expressionlessly, the cute little rainbow spider following behind her.
Standing at the school gates, Huang Tielan looked at the tall and majestic school building, an unusually determined look on her face.
-Go for it, Huang Tielan. You can definitely enroll into this university’s beast card cultivation m ajor!- she cheered for herself inwardly. Afterwards, Huang Tielan strode forward and entered the best university in the entire Hua Xia region…
