Chapter 1308: No Such Thing

Name:Divine Emperor of Death Author:
"... Davis Loret."

Tina Roxley dreamily repeated those two words as if savoring them.

"I also go by the name Davis Alstreim as my mother is someone from the Alstreim Family, but I don't think it has been publicly announced yet, so not many people know-" Davis spoke but realized the next moment that he had unwittingly said it without even realizing it.

He was already exasperated by how much her presence was influencing his thoughts that he kept blabbering without much resistance. It was as if he adored and believed her that she would not betray.

"Alstreim Family!? You're from that Alstreim Family? Wait! It has a Soul King!?" Brandis Mercer reacted like he had been electrocuted as he trembled. He looked like a youth, but his mannerisms were of an old man.

Davis raised his hand, pointing at Brandis Mercer as a white light that shone like a holy glow surged.

Tina Roxley's and Brandis Mercer's pupils dilated at his actions before they heard.

"You are someone of the Thousand Pill Palace, right? I cannot believe you'll keep this a secret."

Brandis Mercer raised his hands as his expression shook, "Wait, I will! I swear!!!"

At this moment, a hand tugged on his sleeves, causing him to look at the woman responsible for it. It was Tina Roxley, having a wronged look with narrowed eyes as she shook her head.

"Please don't..."

Davis felt the resonance of a strange emotion again, wanting him to give in to her request. He inwardly sighed and put his hand down as he felt that he didn't want to wrong her.

This was just too much as Davis was feeling more than exasperated, almost on the border of acceptance. Had he ever been spun around like this other than the time he was facing his parents and wives?

Moreover, this woman's natural charm caused him to naturally feel pity because of her looks and past, making him want to protect her. It just made him want to hate her, but something restricted him from doing that.

Tina Roxley's expression became relaxed once she saw him put down his hands. Her rapidly beating heart that worried for her master calmed down before she realized that she knew almost nothing about this man.

"Believe me... I have no reason to harm you unless you are not Tina's fated one... Watching you in the divination even made my eyes go blind, so it can be said that I'm already scared of you..."

Brandis Mercer spoke, feeling a bit of disbelief that the Alstreim Family now had a Soul King, an extremely young, never before seen Soul King at that! This was something that would deeply shake the entire Nine Western Territories and the entire Fifty-Two Territories without a doubt if the other party's youthfulness was true!

Every one would either scramble to invite such a grand person to their power or kill him before he becomes a big threat! Especially the wicked path powers would be out to kill him before he completely grows up!

It was no wonder that Davis wanted to kill him to hide it. He could understand that, but no one wanted to die, neither Davis nor him.

"Huh?" Davis's expression became confused, wondering what kind of nonsense Brandis Mercer was uttering.

Was he glowing in Brandis Mercer's eyes like a hero in the divination? He almost arrogantly thought for real.

"Father meant about the tribulation clouds we almost faced when the divination ended. It blinded both of father's eyes for a while before it naturally healed." Tina Roxley gently explained while Brandis Mercer went a bit pale as he recalled that experience.

He was smiling at that time because he thought that he had escaped death. It still gave him the shivers whenever he thought about it, so he couldn't help but say.

"Tina, don't lightly speak of it as the heavens are omnipresent. We still don't know for what reason those tribulation clouds formed, so it is better if you keep quiet about it."

While they were quite easy going about it, Davis's expression had changed as it was his first time hearing about tribulation clouds forming above people from a person's mouth as they say that they almost experienced it. He instantly became a thousand times more interested.

"Let me know more about this tribulation cloud..." His sapphire eyes shone with immense curiosity.

Tina Roxley wryly smiled as she looked at Brandis Mercer, "In reality, I think those tribulation clouds were something that formed to punish us. Otherwise, my father wouldn't have lost his eyes for five years. However, it didn't fall on us as far as I could tell but disappeared within seconds. The people in the city also didn't worry as they all thought that it was a weather phenomenon, but rumors did spread that a heavenly tribulation appeared and that someone was breaking through to the fabled Immortal Stage."

Davis blinked, "No one came to check...?"

Tina Roxley shook her head, "These kinds of rumors spread like wildfire but end up dying in an instant because these kinds of rumors appear almost everywhere that people stopped bothering about it. What can I say? Some people really like to exaggerate the weather... Hehe..."

Davis wryly chuckled with her before his expression froze, finding that he was subconsciously enjoying talking with her. He was, in fact, loving it even though he hadn't developed many emotions for her.

He shrugged away these emotions and asked, "Do you think that heavenly tribulation has anything to do with changing our fate? When exactly was it that you had your future divined?"

"Perhaps..." Tina Roxley possessed a contemplative expression on her face, "I have thought about it so many times that I became tired of thinking about why our fate changed. I don't know why, nor do I think I can pinpoint the reason if even Aurelius is unable to pinpoint the reason."

"As for the divination, I recall that it was around twenty-five years ago, or was it twenty-four? In any case, it was right around that time when I was twenty-five years old that Aurelius said that he would be able to look twenty years into the future. I consented to be divined and, as a result, learned about your presence and wanted to attain you all these years..."

Davis wryly smiled as he heard her speak boldly, but his expression froze when she said that it was around twenty-five years ago.

Wasn't that the time when he crossed into this world before possessing the little Davis Loret's body?

'Yup, it's definitely me who changed the trajectory...'

Davis became convinced, but something still didn't make sense. At what point did he change the trajectory? From the very beginning, he transmigrated into his next incarnation? Or was it when Isabella dragged him away after he told her about the presence of Immortal Inheritances?

Those two were the most likely points he could think of how his fate with Tina Roxley could've changed but pinpointing it to a particular moment is impossible for the current him.

However, Davis felt suspicious.

Did this devious Aurelius who lusted after Tina Roxley really said everything about her divination to her in an honest and truthful manner? Davis felt that it was unlikely as he quickly turned to ask Aurelius.

"Aurelius, spill out everything you hid from Tina Roxley regarding her divination."

"... Tina Roxley is a Divergent. She possesses the Fate Discarnate Soul that allows her to stay free of the path that the heavens had decided for her."

Davis and the two others became stunned as they looked at Tina Roxley.

Fate Discarnate Soul? A unique constitution?

This Fate Discarnate Soul sounded like it could sure change the trajectory of fate.

Davis was shocked before he felt even more confused.

So it wasn't his fault but Tina Roxley's!?

"Wait! I have no such thing! I swear...!" Tina Roxley hurriedly shook her head as she brought her hands to her bountiful bosoms.

"My body and soul are completely normal as any human. I have no ailments or anything special about me as far as I could see with my senses..." Lastly, Tina Roxley became doubtful of her own words.

After all, she was just a youth who had reached Mid-Level Young Soul Stage. She couldn't be sure of her own senses in regards to the boundless sea of the soul.

Davis frowned, feeling more confused than ever.

Did she have this special constitution or not?

He returned his gaze to Aurelius.

"How do you know that Tina Roxley has the Fate Discarnate Soul?"

"... That is because her fate changed from the initial trajectory I had divined, and those people whose lives are out of heaven's predestined pathway are called Divergents. As far as I know, only people with the Fate Discarnate Soul are capable of concealing their fate from the heavens."

Davis narrowed his eyes, "So you're saying that you haven't confirmed it but speculated it."

"... Yes..."

Davis's brows twitched as he heard the answer. Then that mostly meant that Tina Roxley didn't have the Fate Discarnate Soul.

"Where exactly is the anomaly of the Fate Discarnate Soul located?" He asked without becoming exasperated.

"... In one's soul essence."

"I see..." Davis nodded his head on hearing Aurelius's answer before he turned to look at Tina Roxley.

"Did Aurelius ever come to you to ask if he could check upon your soul for any illnesses?"

Tina Roxley nodded her head like a hen with wide, disbelieving eyes, "He did! He asked for me to check my soul for ailments whenever I become exhausted after concocting pills with my essence energy and soul force, but I didn't allow him as I gave many excuses... After he became strange, I didn't allow him to close in on me a meter anymore and always kept my distance...."

She always found it strange, thinking that Aurelius was using her exhaustion as an ailment to close in on her to become intimate with her but to think that he was intent on checking her soul to see if she had the Fate Discarnate Soul all this time!
