Do You Know How to Capture a Villain? Chapter 24.2

Picking Her Up Once Again (2)

The danger level was maintained at Level 2, which meant that her opponent was chasing after her, and she couldn’t get rid of her pursuer even if she cast the Air Control Technique.

It was already a miracle that Ji Qingzhou was able to escape from the opponent’s pursuit in a complex environment with her newly acquired skills.

Even though the opponent seemed to be an elder-ranked figure, he had no choice but to restrain his power on White Water Island and eliminate Ji Qingzhou covertly.

“Am I almost there?” Ji Qingzhou couldn’t hold it anymore. Only a thin layer of air current remained under her feet.

“That building in front of you!” The system was very active in guiding Ji Qingzhou the directions this time.

“You are really a reliable system.” Ji Qingzhou sincerely thanked it, “Thank you for planning the escape route and saving my life.”

She flew to the courtyard and noticed that it was a house on White Water Island. Could it be that the so-called escape route was nearby?

“Host, do you see that door? Open it without fear. There is a secret passage inside which you can use to leave White Water Island,” the system continued spouting nonsense.

Ji Qingzhuo was really too easy to deceive.

“Okay.” She rushed forward, listening to the alarm echoing in her mind.

She trusted the system, so she took a deep breath, pushed the courtyard door open, lowered her head, and prepared to rush in and continue to escape.

In the quiet moonlit night, Ji Qingzhou easily opened the door with a brief squeak.

The pattern behind the courtyard entrance here was unique. The water drawn from White Water Lake formed a small pool here. A bamboo corridor resembling a bridge and a road that led directly to the houses were erected in the courtyard.

The bamboo house in the courtyard had a crescent-shaped arch.  Behind the gate, there was even a water soaked bamboo ground, which presented a mirror-like smooth light and shadow in the courtyard.

It never occurred to Ji Qingzhou that the system would actually lie to her.

That’s right. Someone was in the courtyard.

She looked at Shen Rongyu in front of her and froze.

It was as if she had seen something remarkable.

Shen Rongyu stood on the side of the water surface. Behind him was the mirror-like water surface, and the night wind blew circles of ripples, reflecting the moonlight.

He didn’t have an inch of thread on his upper body, and the layers of clothes that he usually neatly put on were shed, revealing his perfect figure. His complexion was healthy white, and under the moonlight, he radiated a somewhat sacred feeling.

Smooth and thin lines outlined his muscles, and at his narrow waist, there were two extremely tempting arcs submerged under the fabric.

The clothes that Shen Rongyu had just taken off were randomly placed on the truss by the water. The wind swayed the sleeves, blowing Shen Rongyu’s mysterious soul fragrance to Ji Qingzhou.

Ji Qingzhou was struck dumb for a long time. Her eyes were seemingly stuck on Shen Rongyu, also noticing his reflection on the water behind him.

The moonlight was reflected on the water surface, with a mirror-like effect. At the same time, the clear mirror surface also showed Shen Rongyu’s back facing her in an unobstructed view.

If Shen Rongyu facing her was bright and seductive, like a perfect work of art, then his back shown on the water was terrifying and tragic.

There was a bizarre, blood-like scar from the back of his head, straight into the cover of his clothes, as if someone with a sharp knife had slowly sliced down starting from the top of his head, with the intention of peeling the skin off his beauty. Or… this layer of skin was something he recovered later on.

Ji Qingzhou didn’t dare to look at him in the water for too long, so she quickly averted her gaze, then covered her eyes with one hand and Maomao’s eyes with the other.

The alert level stayed at Level 2. The person who wanted to kill her realized she was at Shen Rongyu’s residence, so he observed from a distance and didn’t do anything rashly.

Shen Rongyu momentarily froze after seeing Ji Qingzhou open the door, but fortunately he didn’t seem to realize that his reflection on the water behind him had betrayed his true appearance.

He slowly walked up from the water and put on his robe. However, he wasn’t neatly dressed, and his neckline was skewed open, exposing the alluring muscle contours on his chest.

“What’s wrong?” He sauntered, approaching Ji Qingzhou.

The moment  Ji Qingzhou covered her eyes, all that filled her mind was his reflection in the water. She subconsciously retreated a few steps backward with Maomao and withdrew from the confines of his yard.

“I… I didn’t mean to see it…” Ji Qingzhou clutched the rope binding Maomao.

The system’s killing-intent alert was filled in her mind. She couldn’t just claim that someone wanted to kill her without any evidence, right?

When she were to voice it out, others would probably think she was talking nonsense.

Ji Qingzhou stammered for a long time with the hands covering her eyes trembling. Her voice also betrayed her fright.

She had run out of magic power, escaped here, and was drained of strength. She even sounded out of breath when she spoke.

Shen Rongyu raised his hand and held the wrist covering her eyes. His big palm was warm, stopping the trembling of Ji Qingzhou’s fingertips.

“Zhouzhou, you look like you are running for your life,” he lowered his eyes slightly and gently said to Ji Qingzhou.

“I… yes…” Ji Qingzhou nodded vigorously and admitted it. Since the system tricked her into getting in here, she could only tell the truth.
