Incapable of Saying Fake Words (1)

Ji Qingzhou saw Maomao trying to push the Profound Frost Beast cub out of the courtyard.

The Profound Frost Beast was too skinny, flapping its little wings and flying around Maomao. It just wanted to play with the old donkey.

But Maomao valued quiet. He felt that the cub was noisy, and unable to bear it anymore, he thought of pushing it out.

But the Profound Frost Beast was oblivious. It thought Maomao was finally willing to play with it, so it balled up its body and let Maomao push it out.

“What are you doing?” Ji Qingzhou put the jar in her arms aside and picked up the beast cub on the ground. The little guy was whining, as if aggrieved.

Maomao grunted and panted, and then lay aside to rest.

Ji Qingzhou stroked its head, somewhat helpless.

She went outside with the jar containing the spirit stone in her arms, and the little beast followed her. It squatted on the full pile of middle grade spirit stones in the jar, which seemingly implied to Ji Qingzhou that its social status wasn’t that low.

Ji Qingzhou couldn’t bear to move it. She could only puff up her cheeks and blow it once, but then it raised its claws to cover its cheeks.

She adored the little guy very much, but she was a little worried at the thought that it would grow tall.

Ji Qingzhou went to Shen Rongyu’s small courtyard. By this time, the door that was destroyed by the Soul Seeking Nails had already been repaired. She knocked on the door politely and called, “Xiao Yu-shixiong?”

Shen Rongyu came over, opened the door, causing a gust of breeze to blow Ji Qingzhou’s hair.

He saw that she was carrying a large jar, which seemed to be rather heavy.

“Xiao Yu-shixiong, spirit stones.” Ji Qingzhou put the hundred shixiong that Shen Rongyu had apparently spent for her today in front of him. Of course, unbeknownst to her, he had spent more than that.

Shen Rongyu glanced at her jar, then at the small purse hanging around her waist, and asked a question that made her embarrassed, “Zhouzhou, is the storage purse I made now working properly?”

“Uh—” Ji Qingzhou froze. She simply hadn’t adapted to having such a convenient storage space.

She shook her arms, which were a little sore from carrying the jar all throughout the walk.

“The hundred that I spent today are all here.” Ji Qingzhou was embarrassed to face her stupid deeds, so she pushed the jar over.

She went out to play with Shen Rongyu for a day, and it cost her a month’s income. Capturing the villain was really too expensive.

Shen Rongyu didn’t reject the spirit stones and accepted them. But even after Ji Qingzhou paid the spirit stones, she didn’t leave.

“Do you want to come in and have a seat?” Shen Rongyu leaned foward and softly invited, his hair falling on his shoulders. It slipped down and fell in front of Ji Qingzhou.

Ji Qingzhou swallowed. She was a little embarrassed to mention her concern.

But Maomao’s condition really couldn’t withstand the spirit beast that wanted to spend all day playing with him.

When Ji Qingzhou accepted the beast, she never thought that it would fly. Profound Frost Beasts usually put their wings away. She took care of one in the Beast Mastery Class for so long, and she never saw a peek of its wings.

She picked up the Profound Frost Beast squatting on the jar, and asked Shen Rongyu hesitantly, “Xiao Yu-shixiong, Maomao thinks it is a bit noisy.”

“Are you partial to Maomao?” Shen Rongyu caught the crux of the matter.

“Maomao is too old. Although Elder Qiao fed him lower grade Immortal Spirit Pills, he can’t be too stimulated. Otherwise…” Ji Qingzhou stopped hesitantly.

Shen Rongyu picked up the Profound Frost Beast. He had only bought it with the intention of teasing Ji Qingzhou. He never thought of raising this little fellow.

“Xiao Yu-shixiong, why don’t I just… leave and raise it here?” Ji Qingzhou asked. She waved her hand, afraid of bothering Shen Rongyu, and quickly explained, “Xiao Yu-shixiong, you don’t have to worry too much. I’ll come here every day to feed it. You don’t have to mind it.”

Shen Rongyu’s ears pricked when he heard ‘every day’.

He agreed to help her.

Ji Qingzhou didn’t expect him to agree so readily, and she felt a little reluctant to let go of the Profound Frost Beast cub in her arms: “Th-Then I’ll let you keep it with you first.”

“En, just remember to come and feed it every day,” Shen Rongyu emphasized the word again.

“I won’t bother you,” Ji Qingzhou whispered.

She made up her mind and stuffed the little cub into Shen Rongyu’s arms. The little guy shivered in his arms, seemingly a little scared.

“Zhouzhou, it’s afraid of me.” Shen Rongyu picked up the Profound Frost Beast, his voice laden with a hint of a smile.

Ji Qingzhou scratched the chin of the Profound Frost Beast cub to calm it down.

“It doesn’t have a name yet,” Ji Qingzhou whispered, after she had followed Shen Rongyu into the courtyard and sat on a chair.

“This is your spirit beast.” Shen Rongyu indicated that he didn’t want to name it.

“Shuang Shuang?” Ji Qingzhou wasn’t very creative either.

“Okay.” Shen Rongyu had no opinion on this kind of thing.

“Xiao Yu-shixiong, you call it.” Ji Qingzhou urged him to get along with Shuang Shuang.

Shen Rongyu was reluctant to utter the name. The only overlapping name he had ever said in his life was to call Ji Qingzhou ‘Zhouzhou’.

But Ji Qingzhou looked quite eager. She rarely looked so excited.

So, he could only let her be and called out, “Shuang.”
