Ryan ceaselessly tried to move his body, but in vain. Although it was his body, he felt like he wasn't in control of it, as the commands his brain continuously keep giving were not obeyed by his limbs or head. 'I guess I can't just do this on a whim. Gotta slowly get myself back up with patience', Ryan thought, with frustration as he tried to move them again and again. After about an hour of tireless effort, Ryan almost felt a little control over his limbs when he heard the door to the wooden house make a "creek". 'Great! now they come back from their "honeymoon"', Ryan thought angrily, as he disappointed due to the fact that he lost concentration and thus, what little control he had. He heard the voices of his parents approaching, and closed his eyes.
As the footsteps reached the threshold to the baby's room, the voices and giggles died out, as if not to wake up the baby. As Ryan listened closely, he heard one set of footsteps slowly comin closer, but they were extremely soft. Hence, he deducted that it was his mom. He felt his mom's warm breath on his face when he understood that she was checking if he was still asleep. As he felt the warm breath go away, he also heard the soft footsteps going back to the threshold and stopping. He then heard a whisper, "He's still asleep, we still have some more time". Ryan was confused about what she said, but all his doubts went away as he heard some muffled moans from near the door. Outraged, he thought, 'Seriously????? On the threshold to your tiny baby's room? Have you no shame, my dear parents? Oh my god, what have I done to deserve this????!!!!'. Ryan desperately tried to control his arms to cover his ears as the moans intensified. Suddenly, he felt a surge of energy coming from god knows where, as both of his hands were slowly raised up for a second and fell on to the sides of his head. He thanked all the gods as he was able to kill two birds with one stone. He was able to escape from the moan fest and control his hands, albeit for a moment. He cried with excitement, for the latter achievement and cringe, for the former.
Although they were in the middle of enjoying themselves, Ryan's parents, when they heard the cry, rushed to his side, to see what was wrong, and were shocked and amazed to see that he had moved his hands. "Praise the gods, our son moved his body just a few days after his birth. This is a miracle, he is gonna grow up to be a genius!" exclaimed Xiao Shan as he looked at Ryan with eyes full of happiness and pride. Next to him, his mother was sobbing, but Ryan was sure that not all of those tears were because of him. He laughed inside for his own perverseness. Although he felt proud of himself, when he suddenly remembered something and his heart sank. This was the third reason for his mother's tears. When his spirit awakens, if he is exceptional, spirit hall is going to forcefully take him away. The problem is, his spirits are gonna be awesome. At least that's what the old pervert had told him. 'No, wait. He said they 'might' be awesome. That old geezer. But still, I cant really count on that. More like, I don't wanna count on that I don't want weak ass spirits, I got a lot of dreams!', Ryan thought, although he knew he couldn't do anything about that. No matter how strong his father was, he still wouldn't be able to hold his own against that Grand Rapist Qian Daoliu. The conversation that followed reinforced his thoughts:
Luo Hua:- Shan ge, seeing all this, my worries have increased. What will we do if little Yan awakens a powerful martial spirit? Will we give him to spirit hall willingly? Because I wont let him be a pawn in the hands of those stupid old jerks. They will have to step on my dead body if they wanna have my son.
Xiao Shan:- Hua'er, do you think I want this? No one knows how much pain I went through when I heard Tang Hao's fate. I couldn't help him at all because of that stupid promise of mine to the spirit hall. I don't want my son suffer that too. But, what can we do? You know that spirit hall will chase us to the end of the world if we don't show up for his spirit awakening. Although I am a Titled Douluo, I just broke through Rank 94 yesterday, to become a Super Douluo, after cultivating for 4 years. And for me to break through to Rank 96, it may take more than 5 years, maybe even a decade. But, the Hall already has more than 5 Super Douluos and that Limit Douluo Grand Priest.
Luo Hua:- So all we can do now is to pray that our son is weak? *sob sob*
Xiao Shan:- Heavens! No! I would never even dream of praying something so stupid like that.
Luo Hua:- Then what is your point?
Xiao Shan:- If push comes to shove, both of us will fight to death to protect our son. But, he still needs the strength to escape them in the meantime. Even if he does not have a strong spirit, he will still need physical strength to survive in this world. So, all we can do now is train him hard until he's six and ready to awaken the spirit, and pray that everything works out.
Luo Hua gave a sad hum, as she knew there was nothing else they could do about it. "So, when will you start training him?", She asked. "On his first birthday", Replied Shan. "But still, we cannot slack of either. If we wanna make sure that he has the best chances of escape, we have to first make sure that we can buy as much time as we can for him", he added with a stiff voice. Luo Hua was on the verge of breaking through to the Titled Douluo realm and she understood exactly what he meant. She had to break through into the realm as well as a few more ranks if she wanted to ensure her son's survival. She nodded, with a resolute look in her eyes. Hearing all of this, Ryan subconsciously clenched his teeth and thought, 'Mom, dad, I wont allow you to die for my sake. I will do whatever I can to make myself stronger! I definitely wont fall into those old bastards' hands!', although he was fully aware of the fact that he couldn't do anything except train him physically with his father and using the body cultivation technique, both of which could not be achieved without walking. So he slowly started diverting his attention back to his limbs and neck.
--------------------------------------------- 11 months later -----------------------------------------------
It was a fine morning. A small kid was hastily running from one end to the other of a wooden house, just on the outskirts of a forest. He looked like he was around 1 or 2 years old and had an innocent grin on his little face, which made his already beautiful face irresistibly cute, albeit being covered in sweat. As he was about to finish his last lap and started running towards the back of the house (kitchen), a manly voice came from the front door as it opened with a small creek: "little Yan, look at what we brought back". Yes, the small boy was Ryan, now 11 months old. He had pitch black hair which served as a contrast to his smooth, fair skin, a small nose, lips the colour of a freshly bloomed rose. But the highlight of his cute face was his eyes, that were dark purple, like the sky just minutes before nightfall. His eyes looked like they see through everything, and comforts all that's living without any discrimination. Those eyes alone gave him a noble aura. As 11 months passed, his face wasn't the only thing that developed. He was quickly able to move his body according to his wish after he heard about his parents' plan that day. Hence, he started walking when he was 5 months old. And started taking at the age of 7 months, and became adept at it by 9th. Although he could walk and even run properly now, his body cultivation technique as well as his weapon training manual still hadn't appeared. So, he guessed he could only access them once he was a year old. Even though he could now talk and started asking to his parents about his lineage and their spirits, they still refused to tell him about it and told him to wait for a few more years, as he was too young to understand. So, he kept quiet about that matter for now.
His mother had broken through into the Titled Douluo realm two days ago and his parents went to the Star Dou forest yesterday to search for a suitable spirit ring. Although it was only a day, Ryan really missed them, and having spent a lifetime as an orphan, his emotions were understandable. So, he bolted towards his father's voice to give him a hug, but, was surprised to see an infant in his arms. He also saw his mother standing behind him, a bit tired, as if she'd had a long day. "Dad, who is this baby?" Ryan asked as he looked at the baby in confusion. "little Yan, this is Xiao Jin. Listen, from today, she will be your sister", replied Xiao Shan. "But mommy did not have a big belly when going to the forest. How?", Ryan tried to make his question as innocent and childish as possible. His father laughed like a crazy person, as he found this question hilarious. Even his tired mom wasn't able to hold back. As both of them laughed, some their suppressed auras were released, shocking Ryan. Both of their spirit power had increased by leaps and bounds! What was even more alarming is that his mother's current power seemed to have reached very close to that of his father's before they left for the forest. What in the world could have caused such a tremendous improvement in their cultivation? Ryan stood there, stunned, with his little mouth wide open.
