7 Preparations

Name:Dragon Ball: New Life Author:draykan
"This is amazing work, Dr. Briefs." I said.

Before me stood a very large saucer shaped spacecraft. It stood on four spindly spider-like legs with a ramp extending from the bottom. The ship took up a sizable portion of the Capsule Corp gardens.

"So this was made from our ships?" Kakarot asked. He had met up with us at Capsule Corp because he had wanted to do some training with me.

"Well, this was made entirely from Raditz's ship along with Capsule Corp. custom parts designed specifically for this. I wanted to try a different design for yours. Bulma wanted to take the lead on this ship's design." Dr. Briefs informed us.

Bulma showed me a green visor connected to two earpieces.

"I redesigned your scouter device into a wearable communication device that still retains the scouter function and can control the ship." she had a look full of pride.

The ship was fully equipped with four bedrooms, a kitchen, and gym. A staircase on the main floor led up to a second level, which consisted of a small bridge. Aesthetically it was very clinical incorporating white as the primary color of the interior red was secondary. I would've guessed black yellow or purple those seemed to be Bulma's most liked colors or it those could just be Capsule Corp. colors.

After a short fight tutorial I chauffeured my brother to the western wastelands. Tonight was going to be a full moon and I was going to help him control the great ape. In the hours that led up to the full moon I gave Kakarot pointers and mental techniques I learned to maintain my reason.

When we transformed my brother rampaged around for just over an hour before he stopped moving and just stared into the distant desert wasteland. He wasn't in control but he did manage to restrain himself. Restraint is the biggest hurdle to get over. As long as one can restrain the actions of the ape they can practice alone without worrying about mindless destruction.

It probably helped that Kakarot had experienced the transformation in the past, he wasn't as shocked by the experience this time. I tried talking to him but he never gained control of the form.

He should be given credit for getting as far as he did.

We returned to Capsule Corp the following day after several hours of sparring. Bulma greeted us as soon as we landed.

"You'll never guess who requested a meeting with you." she said.

"Um-" I was cut off.

"The King of the Earth! The King!" she finished.

"Why does he want to meet and why contact you?" I asked.

"I don't know why he wants a meeting, but he contacted Capsule Corp because we sponsored the tournament so we had access to the participants' contact information." she answered.

Bulma removed her jet-car Dyno-cap and tossed it on the ground. I was curious about what the king wanted so I decided to go. Kakarot was more curious about what a king looked like than what he wanted. It took two hours to arrive at the king's castle.

We stood in front of an expensive finely crafted desk. Behind the desk sitting in a luxurious blue leather chair was the king, an anthropomorphic dog. He had light blue fur and whiskers styled into a mustache. He wore a dark black suit with a purple pinstriped vest and glasses. It was a strange sight when I saw him animated and it was still strange in person.

"Now I'm certain you are wondering why I asked you here." we nodded at the king's statement. "The Royal Army has run into some trouble. Village territories have been destroyed by a group calling themselves the Red Ribbon Army."

I knew where the king was headed with this, but I was already working on the Garlic problem for Kami.

"After watching the last World Martial Arts Tournament I believed you two would be of get help to my army." the king finished.

"I'm sure my brother Kakarot and his friends could help you, but I already have an issue I'm working to correct." the king was disappointed by my answer.

Bulma and I flew back to Capsule Corp. while Kakarot went back to Kame Island to gather his friends.

Back in Bulma's workshop I asked her how long it would take to adapt my scouter technology to long range satellites.

"Well..." she thought about it for a moment, "It really depends on how many you need. I think it would take around a month to make six."

"Would that give me a decent scan of Earth?" I asked.

"More than likely." she answered.

The ability to locate Garlic in a month was good. I would be able to try out the ship's gravity chamber function. Dr. Brief's told me it could go up to one hundred times Earth gravity. Once I handled Garlic Jr. and his group I would have time to really abuse the chamber, but for now I chose to workout in twenty times Earth's gravity.

Jumping straight into twenty times gravity was pure punishment. It took a day to adapt to the gravity without Senzu bean assistance. A week later and I was fully comfortable in twenty times Earth gravity. I could feel my strength improving by leaps and bounds. When I finally locate my target he won't know what hit him.

When Bulma had completed the satellites needed for the miniature satellite network we launched them into position from my ship. After the last satellite was placed Bulma sat back in the pilot seat and equipped the green tinted scouter visor. Using the visor she connected the satellite network to the ship's sensors.

"Ok, I'm scanning for strong powers that share similar DNA to that guy you fought in the tournament." she said.

"Thanks, Bulma what do I owe you for your help?' I asked.

"D-date." she stuttered.

"What?" I didn't think she'd ask for that.

"I want a date. With you." she stated confidently.

"Ok, you got it. Right after I finish Garlic Jr." I agreed the price was cheaper than I thought it would be.

"Good I think I found him." Bulma keyed in several commands on the console in front of her.

On the display was massive castle in the middle of the Red Sea surrounded by dense clouds. The castle reminded me of a giant coral by the way its towers curved out from the base. Outside of the castle I saw one of Garlic Jr.'s henchman, Nicky standing guard.

"How quick can we get there?" I asked

"Thirty minutes." she responded.

We entered the atmosphere above the Red Sea and quickly descended. I told Bulma to hold the ship behind the cloud cover and stay out of sight. I was going to make my way to the castle alone and didn't want the ship to be in danger of being destroyed.

As the ship hovered in position Bulma opened the main door without extending the ramp. I did a few stretches before dropping out of the ship through the opening.

I was upside down enjoying the feeling of free-falling. When I broke through the clouds I could clearly see the castle coming into view. I tried unsuccessfully to sense the energy in the castle as I fell. It was strange that I couldn't sense anything being as close as I was.

I slowed down my descent when I was about eight-hundred meters from tallest tower of the castle. When I reached just under two-hundred meters I felt a surge of power. I could sense the Ki of the all demons in the area. There was some type of barrier around the castle that blocked the ability to sense the people in it. Clearly, whatever barrier they used was ineffective against technology.

A Ki signature rushed towards me at a high speed. From the direction it was approaching from I could tell it was the guard, Nicky. The demon had green skin, long pointed ears, and white hair cut in a flat top. His shoulders and thighs had a pair of sharp spiked protrusions. He wore a white caped robe with light purple shoulder guards.

"You have so nerve to intrude on Garlic Castle. You were detected as soon as you entered the barrier." the demon said.

I smiled cruelly at the arrogant demon.

BOOM!

The sound of an explosion shook the demon castle.

I could see diminutive Garlic Jr., his almost gray skinned minion Sansho, and another unknown demon presumable his father. They were looking back up at me through the new sky light I made with Nicky. I decided to test whether Nicky was still alive by dropping down through the hole onto his chest with my knee.

CRACK! CRUNCH!

All of the subdued demon's ribs were obliterated from my blow. He expelled a mouthful of blood before dying. I stood up to my full height and took a look around. This was the throne room and the remaining demons look ready to kill me at any moment.

"Why have you assaulted our castle?" Garlic Sr. asked.

"Two reasons." I answered, "One your minion attacked me at the World Tournament and two Kami wanted me to send his regards."

Both Garlic's became enraged after hearing the name of their mortal enemy Kami. The cloaked Garlic Sr. slammed the armrest of his throne hard enough to break it off. Garlic Jr. ground his fanged teeth violently before giving his henchman the order.

"Kill this intruder Sansho! He's strong so waste no time and transform." he commanded.

"CHEESE!" Sansho shouted his transformation word. His muscles expanded increasing his height and his Ki shot up.

Wasting no time Sansho was eager to follow his master's instructions by charging at me. His claws were extended ready to tear into anything that got in their way. He was trying to overcome me with pure power because there was no form or technique to his movements.

The Garlic pair's jaws dropped after witnessing Sansho's right arm disintegrate before their eyes. The demon stumbled back howling in pain. He clutched what was left of his arm in agony.

"What did you do?" Garlic questioned.

"I just punched his arm." I answered nonchalantly.

When he dropped to his knees I pointed my index finger at his forehead and fired a thin Ki beam.

The howling ceased.

Garlic Sr. stood from his throne, removed his cloak, and tossed it to the side. He increased his size and power like the others, but he didn't need a special word to do it. Garlic Jr. looked at his father transforming and chose to do the same. They had both become two very muscular dark green skinned demons that towered over me in height.

"Don't think my father and I are as weak as my men." Garlic Jr was sure of himself.

I poured Ki into my hand sharpening and focusing it like a sword. I moved between the Garlic father and son at a pace so quick I don't think they were aware of what happened. Utilizing the sword steps and maneuvers I learned on the first planet I conquered, Turos. I bisected Garlic Jr. Even as half of his body fell away he looked like he couldn't believe what had happened to him.

Garlic Sr. tried raise his arms in the attempt to use a technique, but I didn't allow him the luxury. Just like with his son I blitzed past him. This time I used my sword strike to decapitate the demon. I chose to kill both of them as fast as possible because I didn't want either of them trying to open the Dead Zone.

Before I left the castle I took some of the strange fruits that grew on the tree in the castle. In the movie eating one of the fruits made Gohan pretty intoxicated. It would be great if I could find a way to bottle the fruits as a beverage. It was a shame I didn't know anything about fermenting fruits into alcohol. Back in the sky above the castle I fired a Ki blast at the owner-less castle sinking it to the bottom of the ocean.

"I got some interesting readings while you were gone." Bulma said as I walked up to the bridge of the ship.

"Really like what?" I asked

"Your power, according to the satellites is fifty-five fifty." she answered.
