20 Opening Salvo

Emperor Raditz was waiting inside a Namekian home in one of the villages. He had gotten reports from the others that Frieza Force soldiers had shown up at the villages they were stationed in.

"I can't say I'm surprised to see you." Raditz said lazily, "Why'd you have to come to the village I was in?" he was wearing black and red armor with gray gloves and boots, along with a red lensed Scouter covering his right eye. The armor's chest piece bore the symbol of the empire, an encircled flame.

"Why are you here, Raditz?" Vegeta questioned.

"I'm here to kill Frieza." Raditz grinned. "And its Emperor Raditz."

"You think you have a chance to kill Frieza without using the Dragon Balls to gain immortality." Vegeta scoffed, "You're more foolish than I thought."

Nappa was becoming agitated by the tone the conversation was taking. He had not expected to run into Raditz again. The beating he suffered at the hands of Raditz's son was still fresh in his mind. He wasn't thrilled about being antagonistic to the long haired Saiyan at this point.

"This planet is currently under the protection of the Prometheus Empire." Raditz declared, "You will not be getting the Dragon Balls, but you and Nappa can mop up Frieza's men. That or you can just sit back and watch the downfall of Frieza. But if you get in my way I will crush you."

"I'm the Prince of all Saiyans, Raditz. I don't work for you." Vegeta stressed the word "all."

Raditz hovered a small distance off the ground and floated towards the two Saiyans. Nappa retreated back two steps from Raditz's approach.

"What do we have here!" a voice called down, "Three Saiyans and a village of soldiers!"

Everyone looked up to see the source of the voice. It was Captain Ginyu along with Recoome and Burter. The trio dropped down into the village to confront their targets.

"Lord Frieza, this is Captain Ginyu! We have located the Saiyans and will be bring Vegeta to you shortly!" Ginyu said after pressing the button on his Scouter.

"He can't hear you." Raditz reported, "All of the villages have devices that block the transmission of Frieza Force Scouters. That's how we have been secretly killing the troops that arrive at the villages. They also emit a jamming field making the villages virtually invisible to detection by the Scouters."

"What!" Ginyu was furious. "How dare you stand in the way of the Frieza Force's mission!"

"Captain, I want to teach this Saiyan a lesson." Recoome stepped forward.

"Very well Recoome I will allow you to do the honors!" Captain Ginyu encouraged. However, he noticed he had lost track of the long haired Saiyan.

"Captain!" Burter hissed out a shout.

Ginyu felt pressure on his skull between his horns and for some reason he couldn't move his body. He heard a thud below him. He tried to look over to Burter, but he couldn't turn his body.

Recoome looked around to see why Burter sounded so distraught. His eyes widened in horror to see his Captain's head no longer attached to his body, but in the hand of the long haired Saiyan. He was clueless about how the Saiyan pulled off such a feat. Recoome knew he wasn't the fastest member of the Ginyu Force, but he should have at least been able to see the Saiyan move past him.

"A Super Saiyan..." Ginyu spoke his last words before Raditz tossed his head into the air disintegrating it with a Ki blast.

Raditz knew how many problems Ginyu could pose with his body swapping technique, so he chose to end the threat swiftly and in an imposing manner.

"So you want to challenge me?" Raditz asked glaring daggers into Recoome.

Recoome didn't understand what was happening. He never thought a Saiyan could ever be powerful enough to challenge their Captain, let alone kill him. His focus had become so locked on Raditz that he never realized Vegeta had charged a Ki blast.

The attack the Saiyan prince unleashed into Recoome's blindspot left the hulk of a man a blackened smoking corpse. The short Saiyan was fuming at Ginyu's insinuation of Raditz being a Super Saiyan. In his mind, if anyone deserved the title it was he, Vegeta, the Prince of all Saiyans.

Witnessing his comrades be dispatched so quickly, Burter turned to flee. He was going to use the speed which gave him the title as fastest in the Ginyu Force to report back to his master, lord Frieza. Burter thought he was dreaming when he turned only to come face to face with Raditz. He looked down to see that the Saiyan had a Ki blast charged and placed perfectly against his chest. Burter was left with no time to react when the beam fired, ending his life.

Raditz wondered if the other groups were having as easy a time with their assignments as he was having. He used his Scouter to quickly check in with the other groups. All of the villages had now encountered enemies.

Piccolo was fighting directly over the Namekian village he was posted in. His opponent was an orange skinned male humanoid, who introduced himself as Jeice of the Ginyu Force. The invader was proving to be a fearsome enemy. He was not only fast, but had power to back it up. Piccolo was trying to keep the battle within close proximity of the village to stay in range of the Scouter scramblers. The soldiers Raditz stationed in the village with him had almost finished taking out Frieza's men that showed up with Jeice.

The Namekian knew if it wasn't for the training environment Raditz had provided, he would have long since died. Jeice flew around Piccolo firing a Ki blast at him from every angle. The Namekian Earthling was obscured by a cloud of black smoke from the attacks. Jeice, after think his foe was finished, halted his attack to admire his own handiwork.

He was expecting the Namekian to be covered with wounds when the smoke cleared. Unfortunately, his expectations were not met. Only Piccolo's clothes were damaged by the attack. Jeice noticed that purple blood covered many of the tattered remains of the Namekian's clothing even though there were no visible wounds.

When Piccolo was suffering under the attack he, stealthily, ate one of the Panacea beans Raditz had provided to the teams. It was what allowed him to survive the barrage of attacks and now his opponent was drained. It also didn't hurt that the Grand Elder had saw fit to unlock some sleeping potential that was dormant within Piccolo.

Jeice decided the best move would be to flee now that his opponent took no damage from his attack, and even looked refreshed. The Frieza Force troops that had also come to the village were already wiped out by the Prometheus Empire soldiers.

SNAP! SNAP!

Jeice looked down at his ankles. He felt the bones in his legs breaking. Piccolo had extended his arms and caught his fleeing foe. The Ginyu Force member was slammed into the dirt as Piccolo retracted his arms.

Jeice struggled to stand as he coughed out a mouthful of blood. His legs were definitely broken earlier, during his escape attempt. He thought, "if the rest of his squad were here, that this would not be happening."

It turned out that splitting up was a tactical error on their part.

They had become overconfident in their strength.

SPECIAL BEAM CANNON!

Piccolo directed his attack to his opponent who was in the process of trying to crawl out of the crater he'd been slammed into. The white haired Ginyu Force member turned around after hearing Piccolo shout the name of the attack. Jeice could only gasp in horror as the corkscrewed beam raced towards him.

Before he could truly process what was happening, the beam pierced his chest, detonating. The Namekian was pleased with the amount of losses the Frieza Force had already suffered. He had to admit, the Prometheus soldiers were effective at their jobs.

Frieza was racing along the planet in his hover chair. The green surface of the water was being disturbed by the speed of the vehicle. His Generals, Zarbon and Dodoria, were flanking behind him as they traveled. The group saw the blasts of energy in the distance from the fight between Piccolo and Jeice.

Even though they saw the lights from the energy, their Scouters still didn't register anything was happening. That being the case, Frieza decided to investigate matters... personally.

Besides, the Ginyu Force had already take too long, in his estimation, to have not accomplished their mission.

Piccolo could sense the massive aura of Frieza rapidly approaching his location. He wasn't sure how his location was discovered, but it was not unexpected. One of Raditz's soldiers flew over to where he was hovering.

"Mr. Piccolo we have detected a power level of 530,000. It is on the way. As per orders we need to evacuate this village and rendezvous in village 03." the soldier said hastily.

Piccolo nodded in understanding.

There were many Frieza Force soldiers littering the ground of the village Kakarot was guarding. He was bored fight the normal troops. When the short green alien from the Ginyu Force showed up, he thought things were going to get exciting, but after getting a sense of his strength; Kakarot knew the alien wasn't very strong at all.

"Prepare to feel the wrath of the mighty Guldo!" the alien boasted.

Kakarot sighed from his own bad luck. He was hoping Frieza was going to turn up. That way he would have an excuse to try his luck against the person who even his brother was worried about. He thought that if he finished this person quickly, then a stronger person would turn up.

Kakarot vanished from the spot he was standing. Guldo instinctively held his breath as his foe disappeared from sight. Time froze from the activation of Guldo's power. When the alien held his breath, time would freeze for everyone but him.

Guldo almost released his breath from noticing his opponent frozen right beside him. Kakarot was sporting a bored expression with a punch aimed right at the eye on the right side of Guldo's head. The short four eyed alien suppressed his panic and moved as far away as he could. His enemy was much faster than he had anticipated.

Kakarot was shocked to see when he completed his strike his opponent was no longer there. The Earth raised Saiyan was quickly able to relocate the alien's Ki. He flashed around behind one of the village houses to find the alien crouched behind a fence.

Once again, Guldo held his breath just in time to avoid a swift death. Kakarot was standing to his side with an extended hand. He had an orb Ki charged and ready to release into the alien. If Guldo could create enough distance between them he would be comfortable enough to use his telekinetic attacks. The weakest member of the Ginyu Force was forced to flee some distance from the Saiyan. He needed to get out of the possible blast range of the Ki attack Kakarot was about to fire off.

BOOM!

Guldo released his breath and immediately inhaled deeply. Kakarot, this time, was frozen directly in the alien's face about to deliver a kick which would decapitate the lone Ginyu Force member. Guldo didn't know how long he could keep up the cat and mouse game. His opponent looked like he was having fun now. The bored expression Kakarot had earlier was gone. He now had a interested grin like a child that had discovered a new game.

To make matters worse, the Saiyan was getting closer to hitting him each time he froze time. Guldo needed to regroup with the rest of the Ginyu Force. Escape from the Saiyan was his only goal for the time being. Once the others were there to back him up, he would be able to take his time in getting revenge. Kakarot began to vanish and reappear rapidly in different locations.

TIME FREEZE!

Guldo used the opportunity to freeze time to make his way out of the village. When he turned to run he bumped into the frozen Kakarot's leg. The alien was knock to the ground and almost had the wind knocked out of him. Once again Kakarot had a Ki blast charged and aimed directly at him.

Guldo quickly picked himself up and ran to edge of the village. He was running out of air as he ran.

The alien knew he was in no shape to make a full escape on one breath of air. He was going to have to take another breath.

When he released the breath he was holding Kakarot's Ki blast fired off. This time instead of exploding against the ground it rotated avoiding the impact. The orb of energy raced towards Guldo, it was locked on to him. All of Guldo's eyes widened in horror as the blast drew closer. He was too stunned to do anything to avoid his fate.

BOOM!

The last member of the Ginyu Force was dead.
