The only down side to it is that the treatment involved is quite taxing and painful which applies even more so if the poison has been left untreated in the body for a longer time since it would be harder to extract and harder to cure since during the course of the treatment, succumbing to death due to the immense pain and torture of the extraction process is quite probable.
