9 Building An Army

Once they entered into the small fortress, Feng could not believe his eyes. In front of him were hundreds of slaves!

"So my boy, tell me what exactly you are looking for, and if your pockets are deep enough, we can do business!" the slave trader said while letting out a loud evil laugh.

These slaves seemed like they had been tortured for weeks, almost as if the slave trader wanted them to lose all hope in living. This was a common technique used by those in the slave trading business.

By making their slaves lose all hope, once sold to an owner, if the owner was evil, the slaves wouldn't feel as bad. However, if the owner was nice, the slaves would serve them forever! Though, using a technique like this made it harder for slave traders to accumulate a large inventory, it allowed the slave traders to guarantee their quality.

"These slaves look like they have been malnourished and beaten for weeks. How can you expect me to purchase them at a high price?" Feng annoyed by this scene asked the slave trader. Feng felt that maybe this was a complete waste of his time after all.

"Oh little one, we have done this so that we could make sure that once sold to a customer as yourself, these slaves would not commit suicide." the slave trader responded with an evil gaze.

"So tell me little one, are we going to be doing business with each other? If not, I need to escort you out so I have enough time today to find a different customer."

"Hmph! In that case, how much would it cost for all of the slaves here in this fortress?" Feng tried to use this slave trader's negotiation tactics against him.

"Oh? We have over five hundred slaves right now. It would take at least one million gold coins for me to consider this!" laughing uncontrollably, the slave trader started to not take Feng as a serious customer any longer.

"One million gold coins? That is actually not a bad price at all. Can you have another five hundred ready for me in one month?" Feng casually took out a universal bank card with one million gold coins on it.

Within this universe, all of the different worlds came together to give out gold as a currency. This allowed banks to flourish during this time by allowing cultivators to simply exchange their gold for cards. The cultivators would have different cards depending on how much gold they had within their accounts.

As far as Feng was concerned, the treasures he sold at the city's treasure auction exceeded over ten million gold coins. So he asked for several cards with one million gold coins on them while he left seven million in his bank account.

Shocked by seeing such wealth, the slave trader started to order all of his workers in the fortress to start preparing all of the slaves for this new customer of his.

One million gold coins in this world was quite a large sum of money and with this single transaction, this slave trader could expand his business and possibly out purchase his competitors with ease.

"Little one, as long as you ask, you shall receive! You are now the only VIP customer we will have from this point forward and hope that you could continue blessing us with your business!" the middle aged man crying tears of joy kowtowed to Feng.
