146 Ch. 146 'Merylin's Request'

Niken and Flynn felt restless hearing the sound of explosions and the aura of magic attacks so strong from the lake.

"Aren't you an evil spirit eater? They won't hurt you, don't you want to go inside to help her?"

"I... I can't."

"Why?"

"I am a daemon. If I taste the evil mermaid once, I won't be able to stop eating until all evil mermaids are gone. Do you think Merylin will let me do it?"

Meanwhile, Merylin, who was enduring the onslaught of dozens of evil mermaid, began to feel exhausted. She had arrived at her royal palace, and her distance from the throne was just sliding straight.

More and more teeth stuck in her body slowed the speed of her tail. Merylin's head was getting dizzy from blood loss, but she forced herself to hold on. Her hands tried to reach the throne seat, which was only a few footsteps away.

Merylin tried to ignore all of the pain over her body and touched the throne seat with her bleeding hand. As soon as her hand touched the throne's heart, Merylin activated her mother's inherited magic spell, causing the throne seat's luminous to make the evil mermaid cry out hysterically and instantly hide in the dark area.

All evil spirits were always afraid of light, and now Merylin was free from teeth trying to eat her flesh. With a perforated body and almost no stamina, Merylin jerked her tail once to push her body to swim closer to the chair. She must quickly sit on the throne before the blinding light faded, and the evil mermaid would appear again.

Merylin positioned her body to sit on the throne while the light began to fade before finally disappearing. The environment around her was again engulfed by terrifying darkness.

"I'm sorry, I can't protect you. But I promise we will not be in this darkness forever." Merylin's two hands held the throne's arm tightly while activating the royal family's inheritance's magic spells.

That's when a glowing orb came out from Merylin's body, causing Merylin faint instantly. The sphere splits into two same orbitals then sped rapidly in two different directions.

One headed toward the incubator mermaid where the Elementalists forcibly withdrew the prospective mermaid babies, while the other darted to where Niken was.

Simultaneously, Merylin's body, which was now empty without the soul, began to change into the same as the other evil mermaid. The fish's tail became pointed like a snake's tail, black scales started to appear on Merylin's skin.

As soon as both eyes opened, Merylin hissed ferociously, frightening all the other evil mermaids and formally had turned into an evil mermaid.

Niken, who was still waiting for Merylin and Flynn's arrival, knew nothing and was confused by the appearance of the orb ball coming from Merylin.

Niken raised her palms facing up while the orb ball floated above her palms.

'Niken, I'm sorry I can't go back. Now I know the reason for calling you here. I will give some of my soul to you while the other part I planted it in weeds in the incubator room. The incubator's cave will protect the plant and will not let the evil mermaid approach. Only I can open it, and now only you can open it. "No." Niken began to sob at Merylin's clear voice without any hesitation from the orb.

"Merylin," Niken was about to swim into the lake following Merylin unconsciously, her body slowly starting to be transparent like a ghost.

Just as Niken entered the lake entirely, her body had disappeared and returned to the year x904. Only, her body was not in the inn room as it should be, but was in front of the mermaid incubator's cave door.

A very thick magical aura and a tantalizing spirit scent made the evil mermaid hiding in their corals begin to come out following Niken's scent. They did not care about Flynn, who still did not flinch in his place, staring at the evil Merylin.

When Merylin's attention was diverted by Niken's scent, Merylin moved quickly no longer to care about Flynn, who was still daydreaming.

Niken panicked when she saw how many terrible creatures surrounded her. In reflex, she made an array sphere from her indigo magic circle to avoid the evil creature approaching her. Alas, she doesn't have a tail, so she could no longer breathe underwater.

She had to swim to the surface, but the path to the surface had been blocked by several evil mermaids.

Niken did not know what to do. Her breathing was limited while the evil mermaid tried to penetrate her defense array. Niken tried to calm down so that she could think clearly and then tried to call Kazuto through mind-linking.

For a moment, Niken froze the time and activated a green magic circle above her head. Then she created a whirlpool then launched it at the evil mermaid crowd while rerunning the time. The swirl hit straight on Flynn's arm, who was still daydreaming.

Flynn just woke up when he felt something hit his arm. He wondered why the evil mermaid gathered in the same place formed a large ball.

Out of curiosity, Flynn approached them, and some of the mermaids avoided Flynn's advance creating a gap where Flynn could clearly see a human girl who was starting to run out of breath in the sphere.

Flynn's heart stopped as she recognized the girl's face.
