9 Ch. 9 'The Twins'

In front of the Bieger academy's main gate stood a young man and a girl.

The girl had long black hair with pale white skin. The girl was not a peerless beauty, but she was indeed good looking, which others couldn't take their eyes off of her.

While the boy was a handsome young man with sharp eyes and perfect jaws, the looks on his eyes hold an ambition to get stronger. Furthermore, he would enhance his mastery with his twin sister in this academy.

"Are you sure this is the place?" the girl asked the young man.

"Hm. I'm sure. Let's go in."

But the girl did not move from her place.

The girl was Niken, a seventeen-year-old girl who was orphan alongside her twin brother, Richard.

They were both twin brother and sister and did not know who their biological family. They grew up in an orphanage until a few months ago.

They still lived in an orphanage because no family wanted to adopt two children since they didn't want to be separated.

They were both found in front of the orphanage when they were five. Alas, they couldn't remember who their family was or where they lived. All they remember were their names. They even did not know if those were their real names.

A few months ago, the Bieger academy leader saw Richard's abilities when he visited the orphanage. Then the person invited Richard to train and study at the academy.

Richard was very enthusiastic to hear that and agreed to it on the spot, while Niken, she did not like the offer at all.

Not only were their genders different, but their nature and character were also very contrast.

Richard was a very cheerful and friendly person, while Niken was shy yet had a kind heart.

"Niken. Hello. The earth is calling Niken!" Richard waved his hand towards his twin sister, who was stargazing at nothing. "Come on, why are you daydreaming?"

"But we will be in different classes. And that means we will also be in a separate building. Richard, I,"

"What can I do? My elemental is fire, meaning I will have to study in Sun building. While yours is water, of course, you will be studying in the Moon building."

Niken just sighed and bowed her head.

"If you don't like it here, why did you accept the offer to study here?"

"I don't want to part with you."

"Neither am I. I can't bear to see you like this, but my desire to grow stronger is greater than separating from you. Give me two years, no, one year. Hold on for one year for me. After I graduate from this place and become strong, we will leave this place. How is it?"

"Is being stronger really important to you?" asked Niken with a pouted face.

"Of course. I will be able to protect you from the people who are searching for us. I know this is strange. But lately, I have nightmares. A group of evil people attacks our families and us. I don't know who and where they come.

But I know one thing. I am afraid of losing you. I don't want to be weak all the time and regret later since I can't protect you. Therefore, I must become strong. At least if I become more powerful, I will feel less worried. Can you help me?" asked Richard, clutching his sister's shoulders gently.

Niken nodded slowly, showing a resigned smile. Richard knew what that smile meant.

"Forgive me. I promise we will leave this place before you know it. Then we can go home or wherever you want to be. Besides, I will visit you at the Moon building regularly. How is it? Are you feeling better now?"

Niken nodded slowly with a smile of relief. They both began to enter the school with a firm and confident steps. They made their separate ways as they had different elemental energy.
