22 Ch. 22 'Barrier'

"Where is Kazuto?"

"There."

Scarlet and Shin Ha immediately ran to where Kazuto was.

"Why aren't you coming in?"

Scarlet stepped into the room without hearing the answer, not realizing there was an invincible wall making her bounced in the opposite direction, and her butt kissed the ground.

"Ugh!." Scarlet groaned in pain as she patted her butt.

Shin Ha helped her up. "Are you okay?"

"Why didn't you tell me there was a barrier?"

"How could we tell you if you just walked straight to it? We don't have the chance to tell you first."

Scarlet walked back right in front of the barrier, and she could see everyone in the room were in the same state as everyone else.

She could hear someone was crying faintly.

"Who is crying? Why does she can still move? Is there a knight in here?"

Kazuto sighed. "If she is a knight, I might not be able to fall in love with her. The knight cannot possibly fall in love with another knight. You know that."

"I know."

Scarlet reminisced the occasion before she became a knight. At that time, she fell in love with handsomely Kazuto.

She even once imagined the man would be asking her hand of marriage. She was sure that for the rest of her life, she would only love Kazuto. Besides, Kazuto himself also enjoyed his time with her, even though he had never expressed his feelings.

But right after she became an Elementalist knight, her eyes were only on Edward. Moreover, when she reunited with Kazuto, the feeling of love disappeared with no trace.

The same thing happened with Kazuto. Kazuto no longer had the same feelings he felt before.

So there was only one possibility. An Elementalist knight cannot fall in love with a fellow knight.

Even if they had fallen in love before becoming a knight, those feelings would vanish as soon as they became one.

Scarlet noticed the way Kazuto looked towards the crowd. The way he looked at was different when he looked at her.

Maybe in the past, Kazuto himself also doubted whether Scarlet was his inamorata or not. Therefore, he never expressed his feelings to her.

Until she was forced to marry someone else by her parents and decided to run away, the rest happened, which led to this situation.

"Move. I'm going to try something." Shin Ha's voice interrupts her reverie.

"You transformed?" asked Scarlet when she saw Shin Ha had pulled out dozens of daggers, and the color of her hair turned blue.

"She has the water element, the same as me. Even though I don't know how she can freeze time like this, I can at least break this barrier with my energy."

"Can it work?" Scarlet asked doubtfully.

"I have no idea. But it's worth a try."

Shin Ha aimed the tip of his dagger towards the invisible wall. Scarlet and Kazuto yield and put their hopes in Shin Ha's plan.

They also hoped Shin Ha could break down the barrier so they could reach the crying girl.

Just as his dagger will touch the invisible wall, a loud voice stops him.

"STOP!"

The three of them immediately turned toward the voice and saw a young man trying to regulate his breathing from running.

"Richard?!" Scarlet especially couldn't believe who was in front of her.

How come Richard could move freely even though other Elementalist couldn't?

No, wait!

There was something weird with his tidal energy?

What was that?
