107 Ch. 107 'Nightmare'

Niken didn't know where she was, but she really fancied this place. At present, she was surrounded by beautiful flowers and beautiful butterflies that flew cheerfully around her.

Niken raised her index finger up to let one of the butterflies perch on her finger.

She brought the butterfly closer so she could see it more clearly. Where has she seen this butterfly? The color was uncommon with a combination of fuchsia, purple and gold colors in the middle of its wings.

The size of this butterfly was also unusual, its size was twice as big as other butterflies so that its legs could circle around the index finger.

Not long after, the sky turned dark, followed by birds flying away from the forest. The butterflies around her also flew away as if they were running away. Only a giant butterfly still resting on her finger while slowly moving its wings.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaa!!"

Niken was shocked to hear the scream and stepped back to avoid it. Strangely, once she stepped back, her body was no longer in the same place.

She was no longer in a beautiful flower field, but she was in a place covered in red paint like... blood??

Her heart was beating fast, seeing what was happening around her. Niken's stomach churned out, wanting to expel all its contents when she smelled the distinctive smell of blood.

Not far from her position, she heard the screams and clanking swords. There were various kinds of light rays in different colors that emerged the dark night.

Is she at the battle field? But, hasn't the war stopped since five hundred years ago? Niken kept walking and passed by a corpse whose body was split into two filled with blood all over his body.

"Ough!" Niken immediately closed her mouth, refraining from vomiting.

Niken sped up her steps wanting to leave this place quickly. She felt increasingly dizzy when she realized all the paths she was going was filled with broken corpse bodies. Some lost their heads; others lost their hands.

So terrible, so sadistic, who has committed a merciless murder like this?

Niken's eyes began to unclear because tears started to fill her eyes. She felt confused, scared, and panicked.

How did she get here? Wasn't she training with Sir Lionel at Mount Shiqu earlier? What is this place? Where is Kazuto? Where is Sir Lionel?

Niken forced herself to continue walking through the countless numbers of corpses. She tried to look for Kazuto or anyone she knew.

Not long after, she saw a pile of corpses forming a mountain, and someone was sitting on the bodies with a sword covered in blood in his right hand.

Niken couldn't see his face as the man lowered his head. The man had long silver hair that hard to go unnoticed. The silver hair blended perfectly into the moonlight. For a few moments, Niken was fascinated by his appearance.

"Who?"

Is this person the one who killed everyone here? Who is this person?

Niken believed the person in front of her was perilous, and she had to leave here, but why does she feel emphatic for that person? Why does that person look lonely?

His hand that held a bloody sword looked frightening, in contrast to his shoulders that looked engulfed in deep sadness.

Who is this person?

"Who are you?" sound the same voice, but the silver-haired man still did not budge from his place.

'Grrrrrr!'

Niken turned towards the source of the sound reflexively and was very surprised at what she saw. Her whole body trembled with fear when she saw a giant black wolf walking towards her.

The size of this beast was very abnormal because its height was as high as a coconut tree, and its eyes were red as fresh blood.

But that was not what made her tremble in fear. What scared her to death was seeing the wild animal biting a human's neck with its fangs and then eating the human head in front of her.

Niken's knees became weak in an instant as she fell down to sit helplessly while watching the wolf with a horrified face.

The monster had finished chewing its food then opened its mouth at her, making Niken unable to breathe and scream as loud as she could.

"NOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

"Niken! Shhh, Niken!"

"NO!!! Don't come!!"

Niken kept struggling as hard as she could while two hands curbed her movements and made her even more frightened. For a few moments, she could not hear soft whispers in her ears.

"Niken, it's me. Calm down, you're only dreaming. Sssst, calm down, please."

Niken began to stop struggling when she realized the voice whispered in her ear was Kazuto's voice. Her breathing was irregular, remembering the terrible dream she had earlier. She felt a gentle caress on her back and soothing whispers from Kazuto to calm her down.

Once she realized she was out of her nightmare, Niken grabbed Kazuto's clothes and cried inside his arms.

"Shhh, everything was just a bad dream. You're safe here, no need to worry."

Right, it was just a bad dream. Niken tried to convince herself.

But why does it feel so real??

"What's wrong? What happened?" Lionel, who was about to cook his prey, instantly put down his quarry when he heard hysterical screams from Niken.

"She seems to have a nightmare," Kazuto answered in a sarcastic tone. "Isn't your training too hard for her?"

"..."

Lionel did felt a bit guilty for putting too much pressure. He expected too much for the girl so he couldn't be patient and wanted to finish this first stage of training soon.

Even so, he was sure that the nightmare Niken had had nothing to do with his training.

"Looks like she fell asleep again," added Lionel did not care the cynical gaze from Kazuto towards him.

Actually, Lionel wanted to continue this training shortly, especially since he had let Niken sleep for six hours. They couldn't waste more time than this, considering they only have three months here.

But seeing Niken's rapid progress, Lionel decided to let the girl sleep as long as she wanted. After the girl woke up, he would not let Niken rest again.
