186 Ch. 186 'Gone Too Far'

"Niken, thank you. I know I can count on you." Merylin was the first to let go of her embrace while wiping the trail of tears that flowed from the corner of Niken's eyes.

Niken shook her head gently as she answered, "I didn't do it alone. I have friends who help me." Niken looked back to see Kazuto, Lionel, and Ceryle with her families.

Merylin followed her adoptive sister's gaze and then bowed as if to salute them with gratitude. "Thank you. Thank you for saving our home."

Lionel and Kazuto only responded with faint smiles, relieved that at last, their mission had ended.

But there is still one thing that makes them curious. What happened to the mix-blood that got in the way of Niken? Lionel asks Niken what happened near the shore when Eryl confronted them.

With pleasure, Niken explained the sequence of events and then took three people out of her astral dimension.

There was Sir Zehell, who was unconscious along with a silver-haired girl indicating that the girl was also a wizard. And another one was an old wizard?

To Lionel's knowledge, there were no elderly wizards these days. Is it possible that this old wizard is a survivor pureblood wizard that is thousands of years old?

"I don't know why, but sir Zehell and this girl are in this mix-blood wizard's astral dementia."

"Mix-blood wizard? So he's not a pureblood wizard?" Lionel was amazed to hear this. As long as he can remember, a new mix-blood wizard appeared to this world ever since the Zeed kingdom was destroyed. That meant that at least the oldest mix-blood wizard was only five hundred years old.

Apparently, Kazuto also thought the same thing as Lionel. "If he really is a mix-blood wizard, he can't be this old."

Niken scratched her neck awkwardly. "It's a very long story, I'll explain it to you later. Now, what are we to do? The sun has risen, soon the local people will wake up and see that so many Elementalists fainted on the streets."

Kazuto and Lionel looked at each other confusedly. They looked around only to see the scene perfect fit when a tornado seemed to have happened.

Trees fell apart, and there was some blood scattered on the leaves or grass. Not only that, there were so many unconscious bodies filling the streets that they almost entered the village.

Had they gone too far in beating up the Elementalists?

"We have to clean up this mess before people get out of their homes." Niken continued in a firm tone.

"Ungh…" a painful groan escaped from Zehell's lips as he regained his consciousness.

"Sir Zehell! Are you alright?"

Zehell just got up and bent one knee while holding his head. Then he remembered the scene where Eryl, his half brother, brutally killed their father, making the aura inside his body even more terrifying and cold.

And they are not evil spirits, but mermaids!!

Zehell shifted his gaze to his sides to see his sister and also an old wizard? Who is it? But when he recognized the kind of flow of magical energy from the old wizard, his gaze was filled with disdain and disgust.

"What happened to him?" The first thing that came out of Zehell's mouth was about the condition of his half brother.

"He... Do you know him?" Niken was still reluctant to tell what happened, so she answered him by asking questions.

"Not an important person."

Everyone without exception, including Niken and Merylin, could feel a tone of hatred in Zehell's voice, making Niken wonder who this person could make Zehell, who is usually cheerful and nosy, become a hater.

Miraculously, Zehell's expression returned to cheerfulness, and his tone became as friendly as ever once he focused his attention on Niken.

"So the ritual worked? Looks like I missed a lot of things that happened here." Zehell got up and walked towards Merylin, causing Merylin to alert.

"Greetings, princess of Mermaladia. I am the son of a wizard who destroyed your kingdom. That's why I want to atone for his sin by helping you to restore your glory."

Merylin turned to Niken with a questioning gaze, then her gaze returned to Zephyr once she received a nod of support from the girl.

"You're a descendant of a mermaid. I can feel the mermaid power within your body."

"It is true. My biological mother is a mermaid."

Lionel, Niken, and Kazuto's jaws fell down when they heard the man's answer. Zehell is a half-breed??? Meanwhile, Ceryle and her husband were not surprised to hear that. They can also feel the mermaid power in the red-haired young man, not only Zehell but also this girl who was still unconscious. It's just that this girl never uses mermaid power so that the mermaid aura inside this girl was not so apparent.

"Well, I never thought that any of us would get away with that invasion. But I feel grateful that there are among us who can live happily here."

Zehell's smile turned sad. He didn't know if his mother has ever felt happy while living here, but he knew her mother didn't end up being happy.

"There is a sound of movement from the village," Kazuto said as his ears caught the sound.

"The residents have awakened. What should we do?"

Zehell and Merylin looked at each other, then smiled knowingly. The two of them used the mermaid's power to create an illusion so that the humans would not see their habitation, which was shattered by the battle that occurred last night.

Meanwhile, Niken and others, alongside several mermaids who can turn their tails into legs, team up together to clean up this mess.

Mermaids grew trees and bloomed flowers, while Kazuto, Lionel, and Ceryle's husband gathered Elementalist bodies into their respective astral dimensions.

In just a short time, they managed to return the environment around them back to normal.

It's just… it looks like they've gone too far? Because right now, the environment around them looked twice as beautiful and clean.

What should they do now, so people won't be suspicious?
