After Wang Yao had returned home, he started to make herbal pills.
He had prepared ginseng, glossy ganoderma, Shanjing, and Guiyuan, etc. He had to fry the herbs first, then grind them into a powder, then put the power through the filter. Whatever didn't go through the filter had to be ground again until they could go through the filter.
All the herbs were turned into a fine powder and released a unique smell. Wang Yao packed the powder away in different bottles and marked each bottle. It took him all day to complete this.
The next day, he started to process the rest of the herbs.
He needed to prepare Moonlight herb, Ziyu, and irony plum blossom. These herbs could be damaged if Wang Yao fried them, so Wang Yao made a decoction out of those herbs.
It took him another day to complete all the work.
After Wang Yao had arrived home at night, he heard his mother talking about his uncle's pregnant wife again.
"Your uncle had his wife checked. It seems that she's pregnant with a girl. They are planning an abortion," said Wang Yao's mother.
"Girl? How can anyone tell it's a girl as she's only just gotten pregnant." Wang Yao frowned.
"She's almost pregnant for three months. Your uncle said she went to see a doctor they knew in the hospital. The doctor said it is a girl," said Zhang Xiuying.
"My uncle's wife is over 40 years old," said Wang Yao. "She won't be able to try for a baby again for at least half a year if she gets an abortion. I don't think her body can tolerate the abortion. I think you should talk to my uncle. It's not ancient China anymore. What's the difference between having a girl and having a boy nowadays!"
The fetus had grown to a reasonable size at three months of pregnancy. Having an abortion at three months would severely damage the mother's body let alone being disrespectful to the tiny life. Unless the fetus had a deformity or a disability, no doctor would recommend an abortion.
"Your uncle doesn't want the baby. Your grandparents also want a grandson," said Zhang Xiuying.
Wang Yao kept silent. He couldn't agree with his uncle. In fact, he was disgusted by his uncle and grandparents' thoughts towards the baby. But, he was the younger generation; he could only express his thoughts to his parents, and not even all of his thoughts.
"Mom, talk to them anyway. They should really keep the baby if she or he is healthy," said Wang Yao seriously to his mother after dinner.
"Okay, I will try to convince your uncle to change his mind," said Zhang Xiuying. Her son rarely talked to her so seriously.
"Yao is right. There is no difference between having a girl and having a boy," said Wang Yao's father, who rarely expressed his thoughts on things like this. In fact, his father rarely talked about family members on his Zhang Xiuying's side, especially his uncle.
Wang Yao's mother had three siblings. She had two sisters and one younger brother. Her brother had been spoiled since birth. All his three sisters treated him really well. Wang Yao's mother was the eldest of the family, so she had to take care of her siblings. Zhang Xiuying's elder sister's family lived in Beijing; they only returned to the village once a year. The other sister lived in Lianshan town center. Wang Yao's uncle was very reliant on his mother and his younger auntie. Although his father never complained about it, Wang Yao knew his father was not particularly happy with his uncle. Wang Yao's mother was also not particularly happy with his father's brothers. Both of his parents favored their own siblings.
"I'll stay on Nanshan hill overnight tomorrow," said Wang Yao to his parents after dinner.
Wang Yao planned to make herbal hills on the hill, and he required a lot of time to do it. He didn't want to be distracted and preferred to be successful after the first trial. So, he decided to stay on the hill.
"What are you going to do?" asked Zhang Xiuying.
"Make herbal pills," said Wang Yao.
"Okay," said Zhang Xiuying, who didn't ask any further questions.
Wang Yao left home at about 7 pm. He walked to the south side of the village, then started to speed up. He was as fast as the wind. If he were seen by someone in the dark, he would probably be considered a ghost.
After walking for a while, Wang Yao stopped suddenly. He heard some noises from a field where hays were stored.
"Be gentle," said a woman.
"Babe, I miss you so much!" said a man.
"We were just together a few days ago, and you can't bare it already?" said the woman.
Wang Yao realized that a man and a woman were having an affair.
"How is your sick husband?" asked the man.
Wang Yao was about to leave, but he changed his mind after hearing the conversation.
"He is still the same. He's sick all day and all night, like a drug addict," said the woman grumpily.
"That's why he can't satisfy you," said the man.
"But I have you," said the woman.
"Haha, let me make you feel good!" said the man.
Wang Yao frowned as he was disgusted by the conversation. His face was sullen. Of course, no one could see him in the dark.
What a beautiful night! Wang Yao looked up at the sky. The moon was as cold as water, and the stars were flashing.
And what a disgusting couple! He looked at the couple who were making love behind the hays and had no awareness that someone was nearby.
Wang Yao decided to do something about it.
"Hey, what you two are doing here?!" shouted Wang Yao.
He was roaring like a lion and was like thunder to the couple.
Wang Yao used his Qi to shout, so it was extraordinarily loud, especially on a quiet night. Almost half of the village could hear Wang Yao, and even the windows of houses nearby were shaking mildly.
What the hell!
The man who was having sex with the woman suddenly stopped. He felt cold as the wind passed by.
The woman was also shocked.
The two of them escaped out of the field without putting on their pants. After they came out, all they could see was darkness. It was the empty field in front of their eyes, and a forest in the distance. They couldn't see anyone.
"There's no one?!" asked the woman.
"What was with that shout?!" said the man.
The two of them originally felt a bit guilty, but now they were really scared. If this happened during the day, people would think they had seen a ghost, as their faces were so white.
"Haha, I feel so good now!" sighed Wang Yao.
After he had returned to Nanshan hill, he thought he did something good and felt good about it.
"Not sure about how their mental bearing is, being interrupted while having sex in such a scary way could lead to a psychological disorder!" laughed Wang Yao.
San Xian wagged his tail and looked up at Wang Yao in confusion as his master was talking to himself.
San Xian looked at Wang Yao as if to say, "What's going on with you? So weird!"
Wang Yao sat on a stool outside the cottage and looked at the sky quietly. The wind was soft. Wang Yao felt comfortable to have the wind blowing around him.
"Looks like the weather tomorrow should be good. It will be a good day to make herbal pills," said Wang Yao with a smile.
It was a nice day the next morning. The sun was shining, and the wind was calm.
The eagle left the tree and soared into the sky to inspect his kingdom. As the lord of the sky, his range of activity was broad.
San Xian was wandering casually in his territory. After working together with Da Xia for the last few days, the invaders such as rats, snakes, insects, and ants were all cleared out from the herbal field. The field became peaceful again.
Inside the cottage, Wang Yao took out all the herbs he had prepared.
"San Xian, I'm going to make herbal pills, don't let anyone in!" shouted Wang Yao.
Woof! Woof! Woof! San Xian responded to Wang Yao immediately to indicate that he had heard the order. Then, he turned around and entered herbal field through the only path. He looked down in an extremely alert manner. He was not a common dog at that time, he was the king of the field, of course, second to his master, who was busy working in the cottage.
Inside the cottage, Wang Yao wiped the herb tray carefully then took out a fine brush to brush the herb tray with the decoction he made yesterday. He then spread herbal powder made by a type of herb into the herb tray and shook it gently. After finishing the whole process, he started to brush the herb tray again and conducted the same process again and again carefully.
The herbs were very precious, not like those he used to practice the process of making herbal pills a few days ago. He had to be very careful.
The herbal powder inside the herb tray slowly turned into herbal pills. Initially, the pills were as tiny as rice. Then slowly, they got bigger and bigger.
The mix of different herbs released a special smell.
At that moment, Wang Yao was like an expert with magical hands who could conduct the most delicate work or a master sculptor who could make the most complicated sculptures.
