Chapter 50

Wolves held their grudges. Meanwhile, snow dire wolves brought that trait to an entirely new level. Moreover, teamwork had been their strongest suit. Once a dire wolf had been offended, that would have incurred the wrath of the entire pack until one perished!

These beasts were born and raised in the snowy mountain and had been affected by the cold energy accumulated in the mountain for billions of years. That made their bodies to have been extremely tough and impervious to swords and spears. Furthermore, their breath of frost enabled them to have trapped their opponents in ice, having made them the most difficult creatures to have dealt with in the snowy mountain.

Legend had it that a small sect’s disciple caught a dire wolf pup in the snowy mountain and brought it back to the sect to have raised it, and planned to have tamed it as his own spiritual battle companion. Unexpectedly, the parents of the wolf pup managed to group up all the wolf packs within several hundred kilometers of the snowy mountain and led an army of several thousand dire wolves and razed the entire sect in one night. That news shocked the entire world of cultivators. The dire wolves’ ferocity had been something to have feared.

Finally, it took several masters of various major sects to have taken action, which used several world breaking techniques to have put out those dire wolves.

Hearing the ferocious howls from the other side of the cliff, Qing Yue’s face turned pale as she realized they had been surrounded by the wolf pack.

“Awooooo!”

After yet another howl, a huge wolf with blue eyes shuffled from the other side of the cliff.

It had almost been four feet tall. With its head raised, it had almost been as tall as a full-grown man, almost the size of a young cow.

Under the shimmering white silky smooth fur were bulging muscles comparable to that of a leopard. It gave off a feeling of raw power.

Within its gleaming blue eyes was cruel killing intent.

“Like I’ve said before, what’s the use of a man that only knows how to run? In the end, we still have to depend on raw power! Junior Brother Chu, watch and learn.”

With a leap, Li Tian flew over the cliff like a black colored eagle, having made it seem like a walk in the park.

“As expected of Senior Brother Li to be so composed when faced with a strong enemy.”

“It seems we’ll have to depend on Senior Brother Li to make it out of here!”

While they exclaimed, Li Tian had already arrived before that snow dire wolf and sent forth a series of dazzling sword-light.

The snow dire wolf backed off urgently from the surprise attack. A few strands of silvery-white wolf fur scattered as they had been cut by the sword-lights.

“Nice move, Senior Brother Li.”

“Nice one, Senior Brother Li!”

With the high hopes from the group, Li Tian held onto his sword as a smug look crept onto his face. “How can a man fear a strong opponent—”

Before he could have finished, the snow dire wolf that retreated had been charging at him once again, having swiped its claws at his chest. The dire wolf’s movement sped up suddenly and caught Li Tian off guard, having resulted in his chest spraying a line of blood as his body had been sent flying by the momentum of that claw strike.

Boom!

Upon his heavy crash, it had brought up a thick layer of icy fog and snow. Li Tian’s body had halfway been buried in the snow.

Everyone was stunned. Li Tian, who had been looking down on the wolves just a moment ago, had been the strongest member in their group, yet he had been taken down by the snow dire wolf in an instant.

“Senior Brother Li!” The scrawny Liu Bo ran anxiously toward Li Tian who suffered a serious injury.

Meanwhile, Fang Yong stood still, dumbfounded. His pants had slowly been turning wet, apparently having peed his pants from the shock.

“Chu Chen, make a run for it. I’ll handle things here.”

The sword in Qing Yue’s hand bounced lightly as she prepared to give it her all.

“Save your power. Leave this to me.”

With a clear whistle, Chu Chen leaped forward. Everyone else had been trapped in fear. Apart from Qing Yue having tried to stop Chu Chen, the others had yet to have realized what had been going on.

The snow dire wolf had obviously been experienced in killing human cultivators. Before Chu Chen could have landed, it made a vicious swipe at his chest.

The group could not bear to have looked. The snow dire wolf’s speed had been as quick as lightning. Even Li Tian could not have avoided it in time. Chu Chen’s outcome would have been obvious.

Bang!

After a muffled sound, everyone had been stunned. Chu Chen had not flown backwards with a bloodied chest as they had expected. Instead, his left hand had been slightly raised and managed to have held off the wolf’s claws!

They were stupefied. What kind of joke was that?! How could Chu Chen have held off the vicious attack of that snow dire wolf with just his left hand?

How was that possible? The critical hit that Li Tian failed to have blocked had easily been held off by Chu Chen.

Bang!

With his left hand having held onto the snow dire wolf’s right paw, he unhesitantly formed a fist with his right hand and punched upwards, having slammed forcefully on the dire wolf’s giant forehead.

“Whimper…”

The whimpering snow dire wolf’s upper and lower jaws had been slammed together. Blood and white fangs splattered everywhere. Meanwhile, the dire wolf with a seriously deformed head flew backward like a missile.

Bang!

After having flown backward for several meters, it crashed into the ground. However, the strong fist force within its body had not been fully nullified, having caused its body to have plowed through several meters of snow on the ground before coming to a halt.

“Impossible!”

Li Tian, who had been stuck in the snow still bled from his injury and almost went crazy. He could not have believed that the snow dire wolf that wounded him critically had been sent flying like he did. Moreover, the one that sent the dire wolf flying had been Chu Chen, the trash that he had looked down on all this while!

“D-d-did I lose my mind from the shock…?” Fang Yong, who had still been peeing his pants, shook his head repeatedly. He could not have believed the scene that happened before him. Chu Chen had been just a trash that had been stuck at the Spiritual Mist Stage, while Li Tian had been an expert at the fourth level of the Spiritual Droplets Stage. How did they end up so differently when fighting the same wolf?

“Chu Chen, be careful!”

Seeing a ray of hope, Qing Yue could not have helped but tighten her fists. However, she soon saw several vicious snow dire wolves having appeared from the other side of the cliff. Their eyes gleamed like some undead spirits in the snow.

After having taken down the first snow dire wolf, Chu Chen had not let his guard down in the slightest. However, he had managed to grasp the rhythm in having fought against the dire wolves.

The snow dire wolves were fast. If Chu Chen wanted to have sealed its movements, he would have had to predict their attacks. If he used his spiritual consciousness, it would have been effortless for Chu Chen.

Nevertheless, Chu Chen had not used his spiritual consciousness. He did not wish to have been overly reliant on his monstrous spiritual consciousness. Instead, he wanted to depend on his keen observation to have captured the snow dire wolf’s movements.

After having predicted the dire wolf’s attacks, it had been time to have found a weak spot. Even Li Tian’s showy sword technique had been rifed with flaws in Chu Chen’s eyes, much less the vicious dire wolf that lost their minds and only knew how to attack.

The moment the dire wolf lunged at him, Chu Chen spotted at least five weak spots. Finally, he chose to attack the weak spot on its head and kill it in a single blow!

“Awooo!”

“Awooo!”

“Awooo!”

Six snow dire wolves howled continuously. After that, they exchanged looks like a human would before having charged at Chu Chen together. They had all been trying to attack Chu Chen at the same time.
