The little mynah was shouting again and again “The empress is pregnant”. Ye Zhen Zhen on the other hand was treating it as though as it learnt something while he was away, and did not bother too much about it, Ji Wu Jiu however invited the imperial doctor to take a look at Ye Zhen Zhen.

Initially Ye Zhen Zhen wanted to tell him that few days ago the doctor has already done their routine visit and everything was normal, but seeing how excited Ji Wu Jiu was, she did not say anything and obediently waited for the doctor’s arrival.

After the doctor finished checking Ye Zhen Zhen’s pulse, with a happy face he kneeled on the floor and announced “Congratulations Your Majesty, The empress, niang niang really is pregnant!”

All the eunuchs and maid servants that heard him all started to kneel on the floor, “Congratulations to your majesty, to the empress!”

Ye Zhen Zhen was stunned, and looked at Ji Wu Jiu. On his face, the expression was no longer the worried and anxious looked he had just a little earlier, but instead a smile that looks like the sun that appeared after the rain, shining so bright.

Ye Zhen Zhen pulled his sleeves “Your Majesty?” Snap out of it, a whole room of people is still kneeling.

Ji Wu Jiu came back to his sense, laughed and saw “Award!”

All the people there were very happy. Ji Wu Jiu folded his arms and walk in rounds in the room, happy till he can’t stop and don’t know what else he could do, making Ye Zhen Zhen dizzy. The imperial doctor was at the side speaking with Su Yue with regards of what they need to be aware of, and in the end faced Ji Wu Jiu and said “The empress’s body is strong, as long as properly cared for, giving birth would be smooth, with mother and child safe”

That would be of course. Ji Wu Jiu stopped walking, looked at the Ye Zhen Zhen who was in a daze, then told the doctor to first leave. But before the doctor can leave the room, he called him back and said “With regards to the empress being pregnant, do not let anyone know”

“Understood”

Ji Wu Jiu then glanced at the rest of the people, “You guys as well, speak nothing of this matter to anyone”

Ye Zhen Zhen was currently being talked about in the rumours, if news of her being pregnant was spread, in the mouth of others, who knew what it would become. This big news, shall have to wait till they settle the problem infront of them first, and then after that to receive sincere congratulations would be better.

After the doctor left, Ji Wu Jiu dismissed everyone, and was left alone with Ye Zhen Zhen. He sat on the bed and carefully places his hands on her stomach, with a layer of clothings in between, feeling the warmth that was being released. The feeling was very miraculous, it was as though as he was forming a bond with his unborn child, although it was still a fetus, almost a month old.

“Zhen Zhen, you are really commendable” Ji Wu Jiu laughed. Leaning shoulder against shoulder, reaching out to pull her head towards himself.

Ye Zhen Zhen also places her hand on her stomach, on top on Ji Wu Jiu’s hands, and asks “Your majesty, do you like children?”

“Like, of course i like” Ji Wu Jiu said, while turning his hands over to hold Ye Zhen Zhen’s hand.

“But i felt like you don’t like” Ye Zhen Zhen said, “Previously when Wang Zhao Yi miscarried, it seemed like you weren’t sad about it”

“How can you still not understand, Wang Zhao Yi, is Wang Zhao Yi, you are you. How can i not like any children from you?”

“Then how come you have no children all this time?” As an emperor, with so many women, but without a child, it does not fit.

Ji Wu Jiu sighed, and said “Zhen Zhen, you wouldn’t know.. to be born in the royal family, seems so glorious, but only they will know the troubles within. As a princess it was still fine, reaching off age, they can choose a man and marry off. But for a prince, if there were many brothers, eventually their relationship would not be as good as the likes of the common people”

Although he didn’t state it too clearly, but Ye Zhen Zhen understood in her heart. If there were too many prince, and with the emperor spot being only one, when these kids grow up, and when the emperor gets old, then of course the competition would be vicious. It was really too common for princes to get rid of one another, Ji Wu Jiu’s father was a good example….

“That is why, it was not that I wasn’t worried, but I don’t dare worry over it. Last time, imperial father had many concubines, but only had one child, most probably it was because of this as well”

It would be that case, although his father was capable of killing of his own brothers, but definitely he would not want his sons to be the same.

But to do that, would be a bit over confident, to only have one son, what if when he gets older, and something happens to his son……

Ye Zhen Zhen sighed, “Then what do you plan to do?”

“I want my children to be from the main wife, and has no difference in ranks. It would be best if I would get 1 son and others daughters.” Ji Wu Jiu answered, and pinched her cheeks lightly, “Give birth to a few more daughters, that would be as cute as you”

Ye Zhen Zhen looked down, a little speechless, “This type of thing, how can I control.. if i accidently gave birth to 2 sons, then what happens then?”

“Then I would write my will earlier, and let it be known earlier, to avoid any fights in the future”

Ye Zhen Zhen played with Ji Wu Jiu’s fingers, “But, your majesty, I still think that there is something weird with what happened today”

Ji Wu Jiu let her continue playing with his fingers, laughed “O? Is it because Zhen Zhen knows that she will be a mother soon, and is starting to get nervous? Don’t be afraid I am the same as you”

“No”, Ye Zhen Zhen shook her head lightly, “I just felt weird, why would the mynah know about me being pregnant? Even the imperial doctor needs to check my pulse before confirming, but it can tell by just opening his mouth?”

“Most probably he just guessed it, you have prosperity, so naturally the animal that you own would have it too, to inform you earlier, shouldn’t be weird”

“I still think something is not right”

Ji Wu Jiu lightly rubbed her head, “So what, the doctor has confirmed, don’t think too much, and properly take care of yourself” In a second thought, knowing that he would not be able to be intimate with Ye Zhen Zhen really makes his mood down.

Ye Zhen Zhen havent managed to reply, when the mynah by the window suddenly opened its mouth, “The emperor is not capable in bed, The emperor is not capable in bed!”

“…..” Ji Wu Jiu stood up, and walked towards it, and once again grabbed on to the legs of the bird, and threw him out the window.

Ye Zhen Zhen’s face turned black, while trying to control her laughter, and said “This little thing, after going one round in the inner palace, it seems like it learnt alot”

Ji Wu Jiu was speechless. He knew that the people in the inner palace was talking about him. Saying that he was not capable in bed, now not to mention human, even the bird knows. But can or cannot this problem, it was not easy to proof, it was not like he can sleep with all the woman in the inner palace in sequence? If so, Zhen Zhen will kill him….

JI Wu Jiu saw Ye Zhen Zhen’s face looking abit gloomy, so he walked back to her, and spoke to her ears, “Whether I can or not, others might not know, but you should know right?”

Ye Zhen Zhen’s cheek flushed red, and did not answer him.

Seeing her blushing, Ji Wu Jiu’s heart felt itchy, he stretched his arms and places it on her stomach, “This is the proof, don’t tell me you don’t want to admit?”

Ye Zhen Zhen looked at his hands with her red cheeks.

Ji Wu Jiu bend down and pecked her cheeks, after kissing them, it was not enough, so he turned her face over and attacked the lips.

Too bad, such a waste, can touch cannot eat. Not sure if this type of feeling was sweet or sad..

The next day, the spy Ji Wu Jiu sent out has returned with some useful information, about the case of the rumours.

Although the Xu family and Fang family are in the list of the suspects, but Ji Wu Jiu still took out the Fang family. Fang Xiu Qing was not too be mess with, with him here, the Fang family would not be so foolish. Although Xian Concubine was smart, but now she was siding with the empress dowager, if she wants to do anything, most probably she would use the empress dowager’s sword and would not do it herself.

That is why this matter should have been done by the Xu family.

For someone in the palace to spread rumours out to the common citizens, was not something easy to plan, so this time, no matter if the empress dowager was involved or not, it would still involve the planning of the Xu family.

From the report, the suspects was more precised, they were all pointed towards the known head butlers of Xu Family.

In order to avoid the case being dragged on any longer, Ji Wu Jiu immediately ordered for the capture of those people that night and to be investigated, if necessary he will order for the entire family to be brought along. It would be best if they can get the answer in one night, and to get the mastermind behind it all.

After giving his orders, an imperial doctor arrived to take the routine pulse.

This time the doctor that came was Doctor Sun, he was a 20 over years old fella, Doctor Tie’s disciple. According to Doctor Tie, although Doctor Sun might appear to be a little slow, but he was honest and kept to his principles. Ji Wu Jiu heard him mentioning, and knew that it meant that Doctor Tie wanted to help Doctor Sun in his career, so he personally ordered for him to come take his routine pulse.

Doctor Sun was a quiet person, after bowing to Ji Wu Jiu, then he started to do his work, placing his hands on Ji Wu Jiu’s wrist.

Suddenly his face changed, and looked at Ji Wu Jiu weirdly.

Ji Wu Jiu retrieved his hands and asks, “So how is it?”

Doctor Sun opened his mouth, but no voice came out. Struggling for a while internally, but still nothing came out from his mouth.

Ji Wu Jiu then asks while frowning “How is my pulse like?”

Doctor Sun kneeled down in front of Ji Wu Jiu, “I… I …. don’t dare to say…”

“Just be honest, I will not punish you” Seeing how Doctor Sun reacted, Ji Wu Jiu felt very uncomfortable, he wouldn’t have caught any terminal diseases right?

Calm down, calm down. No matter what happens, he must accept it. Ji Wu Jiu took a deep breath, and continued to pyshed himself.

Doctor Sun clenched his teeth, and said “Your majesty, you could be… ” after thinking, it shouldnt be a good news, “You could be pregnant…..”
