A Martial King?
Like a thunderbolt that struck from a clear sky, Ling Yu was once again flabbergasted and could not regain her senses. She blinked and began to suspect that there was something wrong with her hearing.
Is Elder Yu a Martial King? She thought in confusion. Then why have I not heard of that before?
On top of that, Martial Kings only existed in some places. Even if the Azure Dragon Country was not weak, someone of that status would not appear here.
"Mister... Mister Sai, you're saying that Elder Yu... He's a Martial King?"
Ling Yu took a mouthful of saliva as she gulped and stiffly turned her head to look at Elder Yu.
The man in black held his tongue, but his gaze was downright sinister like that of a venomous snake.
"You old fart, there's no way for someone who had just achieved the rank of Martial King to possibly overcome me. Leave! I'll leave this place once I kill this woman."
ElderYu smiled coldly as he said, "Seeing as she belongs to the Hundred Herb Hall, I will not allow anyone to touch a single strand of hair that's on her head. Do you want to kill her? Be my guest, over my dead body!"
The man in black narrowed his eyes and spoke icily, "Very well, seeing as that is the way you want things to go down, I'll grant you your final wish!"
The man disappeared all of a sudden and like a ghost, he reappeared behind Elder Yu. He was way too fast and was certainly doing his best not to allow his opponent any time to react.
Then, a sinister glowing sword could be seen in his hands.
"Look out!"
Luo Yin screamed in fear. Elder Yu was their only hope and absolutely nothing must happen to him.
From the very beginning, General Luo had kept his silence, seemingly pondering something as he observed Elder Yu.
It was at this moment that Elder Yu had managed to dodge the man in black, right before his sword landed on him. It was as if he had a pair of eyes on the back of his head. In a flash, his elderly body reappeared several meters from Mister Sai.
"So what if I've just broken through to the ranks of Martial Kings? The only thing I lack compared to you is control over the powers I have within me. I'm not that much weaker than you but I am curious. Why are you trying to take her life? To the best of my knowledge, the Ling family doesn't have enough money to hire an expert cultivator like yourself!"
A cold aura enveloped the body of the man in black. Not replying Elder Yu, he began to throw a new wave of attacks.
"A battle between Martial Kings. Tsk tsk, we would probably have gone through an entire lifetime without having the opportunity to witness such a battle."
"Quickly! Grab your chance and watch the fight. Who knows, their battle might benefit us later on."
The crowd recovered from their calm after the earlier uproar. Everyone stepped backward several meters to leave the two people before them enough space to battle. Then, they prepared to watch the battle of a lifetime in utter silence.
They collided in mid-air and as the battle grew fiercer, it became harder to see who was leading. General Luo frowned and as he turned to Gu Ruoyun, he asked, "Ruoyun, what do you think?"
Gu Ruoyun rubbed her delicate chin and mumbled to herself, "Elder Yu has just broken through to the ranks of Martial Kings, he has yet to stabilize his strength. Also, he lacks the experience to battle another Martial King. He may be on the losing end soon."
At that very moment, Elder Yu began feeling his strength being sapped from him. Regardless of the situation, someone who had just broken through to Martial King was still incapable of fighting with someone who had already been at the rank of Martial King for many years.
He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and as his body flashed, he tried to attack the person standing before him again.
"This is bad, we can't go on like this." Gu Ruoyun's eyes darkened and as she took a deep breath, it seemed like she had made a huge decision. She said, "Elder Yu, I'm going to lend you this sword." She immediately drew the spiritual weapon she had and tossed it to Elder Yu.
