116 Failed

The journey back to the Alvarez Empire was filled with nothing but silence, as August, Larcade, Brandish and Irene had nothing to say. Nothing to say about their failed mission. Nothing to say about how badly they were humiliated. Nothing to say about the fact that they never even got the chance to stand in front of Adrian, their sole purpose for being there

All four of them felt like they were small fish who'd just left the pond and entered the sea, when they were faced up against Adrian's peerage, who didn't even bat an eye at them and completely annihilated them in battle

They all knew that their opponents were holding back greatly and could've killed them, however they were spared..... Spared!

Something like that couldn't go unpunished. They could just let that pass. They needed revenge. Even the almighty August was angry, however he managed to keep it in. Instead of just mouthing off or just fighting a losing battle, he understood that at his current strength he stood no chance.

Irene, the so called Queen of Dragons didn't even get the opportunity to fight against the girl that smelt like a dragon.... Ophis was her name

Brandish was still terrified and was shivering as she recalled her torture scenes..... she'd always thought of herself as someone strong, but nothing could've prepared her for being tortured by her own little sister

Larcade had his eyes closed and wondered what to tell Zeref. How could they go back and explain to him, that four Spriggans, 2 of which are regarded as the strongest of them all, lost to children

'This isn't good.... not good at all' Larcade thought as he had some sweat run down his back from thinking about the menacing look he received from Masrur

Alvarez Empire

A few days had passed and the four spriggans had fully recovered by the time they reached Alvarez. None of them walked very fast as they didn't want to see Zeref anytime soon and report their failure

It would be one thing to report to Zeref in private, but the other spriggans would be their also. After spending many years together, they all each had a certain reputation. However hey knew that this mission had completely destroyed all of that

As they entered the doors to the meeting room they found everyone sitting there waiting for them, with Zeref at the head seat

"So what was his response?" Zeref asked as they sat down slowly

August took the lead for his fellow spriggans as he knew that although they were physically fine now, their courage was completely shattered

The most surprising one was Irene, as she'd been silent to this moment. Not a single peep came out of her as she looked dead. Irene was currently lost in thought as her eyes looked completely zoned out

"Unfortunately Lord Zeref Adrian had declined your proposition" August said calmly

"..... I see. I won't say I'm not disappointed as I was hoping for a fight against him but never mind. I trust you disposed of him in a respectable manner?" He asked but everyone knew it was rhetorical, as when he gives an order he expects it to be done quickly and efficiently, there's no room for failure

"..... no Lord Zeref... we did not kill him" August said causing Zeref to raise an eyebrow, before he asked curiously "Why not"

"Because his team got in the way and completely defeated us that's why!" Brandish said, in a broken tone as she clenched her knuckles and looked down

Everyone in the room was shocked and stared at the four who returned from their mission. Defeated. How?

The room turned deadly silent as no one knew what to say. Zeref's eyes were covered by the bangs of his hair as he was thinking about how there could be people in Fiore that could actually defeat his spriggans. Not just one but four out of the twelve of them. And two of them were his strongest

Time passed very slowly before before laughter could be heard "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Ajeel was cracking up and fell off his chair while pointing at them

"You lost! Not even to him but his team! Hahahahahaa!" Listening to Ajeel laughing at them got the usually calm and cool headed Larcade to clench his fists in anger

August kept silent while Brandish kept her head down, and Irene was merely just in a trance

"That's enough Ajeel" Zeref said causing Ajeel to shut up

Zeref raised his head and everyone could see the smile on his face. This wasn't a cold smile though, not a bloodthirsty one. This was a genuine smile as he was very happy to hear about a group of people so strong, a group that could rival him and his spriggans.... and maybe, just maybe.... give him the eternal sleep that he's been dreaming of for so long

"Adrian Knight huh..... interesting"

With Adrian and Mira in an undisclosed location

"Phew..... that was amazing" Mira said as she laid nude on Adrian's chest after their umpteenth round of baby making

"Yeah it was" Adrian said catching his breath, as he held Mira in his arms

"So how bout another round?" Adrian asked with a perverted smile on his face making Mira sigh tiredly

"Don't you ever get tired?" she asked but had already decided to take the lead in the next round and actually couldn't wait to get started

"I'll never get tired of you my divine wife. Besides I did say that we won't leave this room until we know your pregnant. And you know me, I never go back on my word, because that's my ninja way!" Adrian said dramatically with a fist in the air causing Mira to look at him strangely before she merely shook her head and sat on his lap

"Well okay then. But this time I'm on top" Mira said before they began to cause earthquakes once more
